I thank you for showing how this works. I just bought my first LONG RANGE rifle and it came with one of these never used one of these before. Hood or bed of truck. Sandbags or deer stand rail but no bipod
Thank you for the help . I’m installing it on a savage axis 30-06
just found one of these on the shelf at value village marked 'housewares/office' 😂 they had no idea what it was. paid $5 for it. thanks to your video I figured out how to extend the legs.
Sub'd. It's nice to see a long range guy who isn't a brand snob
Got one, LOVE IT!
Thank you. Just came across this video today, because I decided to add a bipod to my Savage 110 High Country. Your honesty and good info convinced me to go with the Caldwell. #appreciated
Had a pair of these 10 years ago. Fell apart, no customer service. Yesterday on your recommendation decided to try these again. They would only be used for load development not for hunting. They don't need yo stand up to long hunts. I put them on my gun and leaned into them. They fell off and my $2000 rifle landed on the tile. The Chineese Keychain ring they use to keep this all together cant hold a 9 lb rig. These are made in China, no customer service. Harris are made in USA. Great customer service, good people. I own 3 pairs of Harris and have had 2 of these. These were on my gun for seconds and never again. I wouldn't put these on a 22.
I am not getting any emails from my subscriptions. It's like RUclips is blocking that function. Thanks for the review. just ordered one.
They're a good company I just recently purchased a sling from them for my Ruger ranch
Just put the Caldwell pivot on my creedmore love it
Bought one on your affiliate account. Thank you, hope it “rocks”.
I'll tell you one bi-pod never to buy; the Champion brand. After long shot strings on my 243 laying prone, the roll pins fell out of the feet, the screws loosend almost completely out of the leg/frame attatchment and overall they just suck. I thought it was just that one, but my next range trip with a 6.5mm running another Harris look alike did the same thing!! So now, I run nothing, I mean nothing but Harris. And if I switch from harris it will be an Atlas. Ive had too much bad luck with Chinesium bipods. American made. Harris. Love your vids Vaughn! Just adding my 2 cents!
Chad Harzbarger I've got a couple Harris bipods, nothing against them at all. The Caldwell seem to be holding up very well and for half the cost. I know there are some really cheesy ones out there like you mentioned. I've owned those as well and the pins for the eyelet fell out, all the time.
Seen & tried one out at the Range yesterday - IT'S Excellent and functions perfect... on my short order list!
It’s basically a Harris with the Caldwell name my Harris works exactly the same
Just came across this video while I was looking for a new bipod. Thanks Vaughn. Spot on as usual.
Best review I’ve seen so far, good job!!!
Ya, I've never bought anything but Caldwell. They work great. Never had a problem with them at all. Was tempted to buy a Harris, but just can't see the reason to for the price.
Pick up harris then pick up caldwell. Then you'll know. Usa, china
@@ChaskeJohnson which one is the chinese built one
Just got it for my savage axis 2 xp!
great video. thank you for sharing your knowledge with a first time .22LR rifle owner. Time to go "plinking"
The one I had broke so I bought a Harris. The Harris is more money because it is made of better material.
I agree, I have 2 Harris bipods and thought I would give the Caldwell a try. Lasted about 2 years and I have noticed the springs are inferior in size, gauge and strength to the Harris. My Caldwell failed with the spring tension and one leg being compromised. The slightest bit of forward pressure when setting up for a stable shot causes problems. I do own other Caldwell products and have no complaints other than the bipod.
Great info on the bipod, I was needing one for my Savage 12 lrp.. nice to be able to save 60 bucks
Great video. All I care about is if it works and that it won't break. You've answered both of those questions, and I'm on my way to buy one. Thanks for the review!
It is important to put a bubble level on the rifle scope when using a bipod
Thanks for the video! I wanna try this before I pick up a Harris.
I am trying to figure out which size to buy 6-9” or 9-13”.
i have had two of these one for warranty and they just fall off my Remmington 700 BDL i added a second sling mounting position thinking it was my sling pulling on it not the case .....they mount easy but for the life of me they will not stay in place any advice
Is the stud underneath the tension knob not for fitting your sling????
I have that model but mine has fallen off while shooting rifle is a 308 just seeing if anyone has had an issue

Mine has fallen off while shooting, on my 270. I'll get up from my shooting position and my rifle falls off the bipod.
Thanks man! Just bought one off your link
Awesome! It really helps keep this channel going!
very well done
Awesome videos on the savage build 243. AI 👍🏻. What fixed power SWFA -SS would you recommend for my savage 12 in 308 cal . I am hunting in pines 🌲 and open cutovers . Shots will be 30yards out to 300yards any help would be appreciated. Thinking about the 10x42 🤷🏼♂️🦌
John Garrie I would go 10x
I recently purchased a savage and have been entertaining the idea of creating a build similar to yours so I have enjoyed watching your videos quite a bit. They are very informative.
I don't recall you mentioning the type of stock you put on that rifle, other than it being a Boyds. I like the design of the adjustable cheek piece. Which model is that from Boyds' selection of stocks?
Again, I have enjoyed your videos and look forward to future videos you put out. Keep up the good work!
Phillip Rutz thanks for checking out the videos. I used the Boyd's pro varmint stock then added on with the customization options they offer.
Great, I will look into some of their customization options. Thanks for the timely reply!
I agree I have 3 of the exact bipods an there the real deal....
Will the pod lock lever fit this model like the Harris?
Sarge's Adventures not 100% sure but it appears that it would
I have the same one tikka t3 love it
I've been very happy with them. Never had one fail and I own and abuse about 5 of them.!
love the review.
You may have just talked me into this as my next bipod. Does it come with a pic rail adaptor?
No, you'd have to get the separate. They may offer one that has it already but I'm not sure.
How do u mount this on an ar10 with picitini rail .
Im buying one but the link is useless for europeans i guess
Thinking about getting this for my dad for christmas is the pivot handle worth buying or does it work easy enough without it?
Marcus Benner I think it’s fine without it personally. But I would recommend a pivot for sure
Vaughn Precision thanks, good to know, keep up the good work just finished watching the ackley series for the second time, have a 12fv in 6.5 on the way from cabelas black friday sale. $220 after the rebate, cant beat that. Love the channel!
Mine just keep falling off
which rings did you use when mounting your swfa scope?
I use the SWFA rings as well, but I also have some Vortex.
Vaughn Precision the swfa rings you used did you use the medium or the low rings?
Chris Ugalde medium rings
I just picked up one in the pawnshop for 18$..🤣...
Come on, man!
Cant hear much
Made in China... pay the extra cash and support your country
Yup I don’t even call it Caldwell I call all their products Chinawell.
China will be the death of the u.s.
It's a cheap harris wanna be . If you take your hunting and shooting seriously spend the extra bucks and get the harris . My 40 years years of experience says you won't be sorry.
It sucks
These things are crap
