Can you explain how short selling works after hours? I notice after earnings report that some retailers are processing shorts at the close, so I suspect that the low volume after hours, seem to have a bigger effect in dropping down the price. When these shorts cover, when do they do so? It seems that when they cover that this doesn't cause the price to go back up, as they chased out buyers in the process. Also, stop losses don't trigger after hours, so how does one mitigate such a risk?
