What Happened to the Splinter Cell Remake???

- It's been nearly three years since the Splinter Cell Remake was announced and aside from a few details and concept art, we've heard virtually nothing about the game. There were many hopes it would be shown at Ubisoft Forward but alas there was nothing. With it leaked to be potentially released in 2025 or 2026 this is concerning, so where is the remake and what does it mean for the future of Splinter Cell???

"Lambert since i am holding 50 million can we talk about that raise again"
"25 cents an hour and not a penny more"
"deal"
THERE HE IS!!
"Hey wait a minute, it looks like a laser grid just came online..."
"Lasers..? Lasers are so...?"
"90s..?"
"I was gonna say 70s. Can you please stop making me feel old!"
"I got bad news for you Sam, you are old."
@@victorhng Pure gold
Panama chaos theory YEAH
Just needed a teaser with Sam creeping out of the shadows, raising his goggles and in Michael Ironsides amazing voice say "Kept you waiting huh?"
Wrong game😭💀
Sam : like an old friend of mine use to say.. kept you waiting huh..
@@lusor_lucky4966 That's the point 😂
Micheal Ironside probably won’t be around he’s pretty old and dealing with a lot like remission from cancer and stuff let the guy have his rest
It would be such a cool reference to MGSV Ground Zeroes intro love it
I remember in Ghost Recon Breakpoint when they made a tribute to Metal Gear Solid because Kojima left Konami. Ironically, MGS is now closer to releasing a game than Splinter Cell now.
I love how Snake and Fisher are both voiced by Canadians, but one of them is an obscure actor who went on to write the X Men movie, and the other is the cyborg school teacher from Starship Troopers
Wildlands*
I was so sad when uni forward didn’t reveal anything about it ☹️
They aren’t what they used to be. Ubi used to make some of the best games
Womp womp
Haven't played it tho its sad know ur game hasn't come it sucks what can about it it is what it is next year it should since it's supposed to release sucks another fans miss their game
We got perfect dark before splinter cell remake
The very, very least they could do is re-release the older games on PS5……
No we don't. Perfect dark doesn't even have a release date.😂
@@mohammadashikurrahman7530 it’ll be perfect dark, with a female protagonist of color, fighting to save her lesbian lover, and test tube babies. She’ll be tougher than every emascualted male character, and the setting will be in the Eastern European nation of Estrogenia.
I don’t trust game developers anymore. They just suck the life out of the fun.
We got gta 6 before the splinter cell remake
@@allendean9807For real. I'm a massive stealth game fan and I've never played a single Splinter Cell game because I don't have any consoles to play them on.
I read the video title in Sam Fisher interrogation voice...
"Were you gonna say monkey?"
I'm pretty sure the reason they don't reveal it at Ubisoft Forward maybe because couple reason:
1. It's still under heavy development so at most they can do is teaser trailer at least.
2. they're going to promote AC shadows as a game that shows the global illumination to kinda tease how splinter cell stealth could be.
Yep pretty much under heavy development. I think the game footage they have ready to show is buggy. 2025 should be perfect to show it off and release early 2026
The new splinter is either gonna be another hardcore chaos theory with more realism , or its gonna be anothet ghost recon bs game mark my comment
Desperately need it now.
Im waiting since 2013 for a new splinter cell game,
I don’t know why Ubisoft is so quiet about a new splinter cell game. Sam Fischer is as iconic as ezio
I hope we get a new game next year or in 2026
It's not the most profitable series, not many into hardcore slow stealth like splinter cell, instead they focused on AC series as it's their most profitable product
I would rather not have new Splinter Cell games, at most faithful remasters but I doubt Ubisoft would be capable to do that, they NEED to change things up and try to make it flashy and casual.
The series died when Conviction was released.
Chaos Theory introduced me to Amon Tobin. A titan in music.
The last time Ubisoft took their time with a game, we got Skull and Bones
True that
If Ubisoft did a fast development it'll be released half baked, if they took it too slow then development issues will arise and it'll end up the same or even worse.
This is the problem with Ubisoft, maybe their teams are too large and sparse in between
Is skull and bones good? I thought it was absolutely trash at launch lol
@@yerokaasregor That is his point
@@PowerSenpai well that went right over my head haha
i need a modern day splitercell maaan. i cant just keep playing blacklist forever
Play Conviction, try to stealth it as much as possible. I'm a huge Splinter Cell fan, played the first game when it launched. Loved Pandora Tomorrow & Chaos Theory, but Conviction is somehow my favorite.
5:52 “…and there is no Sam Fisher without Michael Ironside.”
With a voice as distinct and beloved, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Ironside is already making (or already made) plans to have his voice cloned enabling audiences to keep hearing it in games and animations long after he finally retires and perhaps even after he passes, generating a posthumous income for his family.
With AI text-to-speech and speech-to-speech, it’s technically possible for Ironside to keep ‘voicing’ Sam Fisher for as long as the character still exists.
The public’s taste for that option and their ability to get past any initial hesitancy will be influential. But we will be crossing that bridge some time in the next few years. It may not be Ironside and Fisher, but when a major media title has such strong preference for a character and their voice actor, a Sam Fisher voice performance overdubbed by an AI clone of Ironside’s voice might offer the best/first chance to launch for the technology and having audiences accept it.
Correction: Disney have apparently done something similar in their Star Wars TV shows to what I suggested above using AI to graft Mark Hamill’s (young) face and voice onto a body actor’s performance. To me, this suggests even more strongly that we could see something similar done with Ironside’s voice for future Sam Fisher appearances.
I thought for sure we were going to see that at Ubi Forward. At least something on it. It’s still up on their website. Beyond Good And Evil 2 I expected less, but I did also actually expect an announcement for the Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Remaster, that leaked and was playable on Ubisoft Plus for a brief period accidentally and forced them to admit it was real. That has to be out soon I’d suspect. But as others have speculated maybe they’re waiting for the next Nintendo Direct as that one will definitely go to Switch I assume.
I don't know if you'll read this, but the real reason why are there no news is that simply for the past 2 years, the remake didn't really have a development team. They annouced the remake when it was greenlit
2-3 years ago, there were like from 30+ to 20+ job listings for the remake, last year it was 13, now it's only 1.
From what i've seen, it's possible that the real production on the remake started some time this year (or a bit eariler than that)
Apparently this time last year they were designing levels and had Sam crawling through vents and climbing pipes, shooting his pistol. Your comment is true but they did have many working on it since 2022. The problem is games take ages to make and yeah the staffing issue is a problem. I reckon 2025 reveal and 2026 release
A Splinter Cell Remake feels like a good start for me, since I never played the very old ones. Also, I always amazed how Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist played, due to them being more action oriented they’ve been.
Chaos theory honestly is a way more unique engine than the others
I played every splinter cell game and owned all of them
My problem is the "action oriented." I mean, how many action oriented games do we have? Too many. The charm of Splinter Cell was the slow paced stealth; taking your time, and feeling like a modern day ninja.
Trust me you need to play them especially chaos theory, if you don't like the feel of them just keep on playing and you'll start to love them and be wanting more.. trust me😊 they still hold up, amazing games.
Could this be a sneaky smart move from ubi as in keeping Sam invisible until soon before release? Cuz this is the stealthiest game I played
This days is easier to spot Sam in the sadows than seeing a teaser for the remake....
i was really expecting something at Ubisoft forward. just a teaser or something
They are trying to create a live service splinter cell that uses echelon coins in the cash shop
Blacklist was savage so was chaos Theory but i liked the john wick parkour killing spree on multiplayer
Assuming hopefully it’s not facing issues, perhaps they’re waiting till the hype for MGS delta and the new assassins creed game in the works hype/attention isn’t too high
Dude, the last official update was something like a week or two ago! Two people asked them on twitter and they replied they're working on it. So here's hope
I'm really hoping this remake is still happening because I'd love for it to serve as an entry point for me to get into this series because I'm a big fan of the stealth action genre.
Don't wait for the remake, play the OG games, they are awesome and worth the time! They are backwards compatible with the Series X/S
Ibr I want the blacklist movement though, blacklist was sooo clean when you compare it to like double agent
You'd think splinter cell being a faction in Xdefiant, they'd push the remake
its very hard to wait...
Hello master assassin I just wanted to say that I really love your videos. Im mainly here for the assassins creed but I enjoy some of the other stuff as well. This is day one of asking u to do a full playthrough of ac black flag my favorite game. Also I wanted to mention that my actual name is Desmond which I thing is kinda cool because of Desmond Miles.
MA can you do a video on the Hitman series since you seem to be a stealth genre fan
I just hope when this finally comes out we get spies vs mercs online action
Modern day assassin's creed
I heard recently that the reason why it's taking so damn long because they're trying to implement Mico transactions, and the developers Toronto are pushing back.
That's what I heard but I'm inclined to believe it.
Sounds accurate, I really don't want Ubisoft touching SC anymore.
Tbr it doesnt need a remake. Its fine the way it is just leave it be. They WILL bastardize it, rest assured.
Honestly, Im replaying the first one and the only negative mark on it is maybe some of the consistency of guards spotting you and no subtitles in cinematics, but other than that the gameplay is STILL impressive with small details.
Ubisoft itself has become a distant memory with unstoppable waves of same Assassins creed & far cry games.
Man if somehow they are cancelling it they screwed up hard
They don't. They literally said OFFICIALLY they're still working on it like two weeks ago
I'm in a minority having only come to the IP in 2010 with Conviction and the follow-up, and most recent title, Blacklist in 2013. But those are two of my all-time favorite games. I'd love any more Splinter Cell content, remake or other.
If they can make a new protagonist that creates his own character then im all supportive of Sam leaving. It's when someone tries to be Michael Ironside that ruffles my feathers. It would be a good opportunity to keep Sam in the splinter cell series as a voice in your head back at mission control, giving clues and hints and mission support, much like a capcom in NASA talks to Astronauts, is always done by a fellow astronaut. We need Fisher (Ironsides) humor heckling the new guy over the radio. Hell maybe Fisher could just be MISSION DIRECTOR or deputy director. Just look at Ironside playing leadership roles in his movies, imagine a really angry Fisher telling you the missions over or that you triggered an alarm? 😄
Hey MasterAssassin what do you think of Sifu? Seems like a game you'd play..
Michael Ironside voicing Sam maybe what is holding this franchise back. We gotta let that era go if we want this series to come back.
After they said "for a modern audience" I am not so sure I want a new Splinter Cell game.
First time i see your channel. Very good channel 👍
I would have preferred a sequel to Blacklist than a remake with a new character and Fisher as a mentor, a sort of new Lambert.
Splinter Cell doesn't really need Remakes, it's a franchise that can have sequels forever but I guess Ubisoft preferred to take the easy way out.
5:51 "There is no Splinter Cell without Sam Fiser"... However, I rather disagree with that.
In my opinion....
Sam Fisher isn't essential to Splinter Cell. It's only that we've only known him that we only want him.
Sam Fisher isn't the only Splinter Cell, he's just the first.
Technically Sam Fisher is replaceable and we've already got several potential successors who've been waiting their turn for years.
If we want the franchise to have a future after the Remakes, we'll have to accept that Fisher will have to be replaced at some point, because there's not much left to say about this character other than to trace his life before he became a Splinter Cell. And then it won't be a Splinter Cell game, because the Echelon 3 programme hasn't been created yet.
Once again Sam Fisher was the 1st Splinter Cell agent but he's not the only one and we have a potential successor in particular who has a very interesting story to tell and develop.
My opinion.
The first 2 came out when I was in High school and Chaos theory my fav (Year after I graduated). I fell in love with the series! It was such a great experience! I am impatiently waiting for the remake!!!
My top 3:
1. Chaos Theory
2. Blacklist
3. Splinter Cell
And here I thought Snake wasn’t gonna be alone this year… oh well
I was absolutely disappointed that they didn't reveal or say anything about it...but I have been for the past 10 years. This is my favorite franchise and it needs to continue.
They officially said they're still working on it like two weeks ago
I'm wondering the same about the leaked ghost recon project over
still no video on captain laserhawk :(
I LOVE Splinter Cell! Playing Blacklist was SO fun and I really enjoyed playing co-op with other players for hours... I REALLY want another Splinter Cell game!
Yo master assassin can you do arno vs Altair who will win in combat and compare both of there combats
Neither Conviction nor Blacklist took anything away from the series; they (especially Blacklist) gave players options on how they wanted to proceed. Blackllist had the best movement and control scheme of any of the games, Convictions movement and controls were less great but I loved the Deniable Ops missions..... Whatever they do next I hope they keep the basic gameplay/control scheme from Blacklist; it was intuitive and smooth to use.
"wow killed by a ninja, cool!"
They spend their money on ac shadows but the Japanese been dumping on it since gameplay trailer
Need splinter cell more than ac shadows
They will put Sam Fisher in every game except making Splinter Cell game.
we need it
Hopefully soon I miss playing spies and mercs
Those games dont need remakes just remasters. The gameplay mechanics and story are good as is. A Splinter Cell collection like the Metal Gear one would be great.
I find it crazy how since 2020 we got AC Valhalla, Mirage and Shadows before were gonna get a "remake" from splinter cell.
Please make the gameplay like in the chaos theory, if we don't get light & dark meter (because of the ray tracing) at least give us the sound meter back!
I would like to try this game should i buy it
Ubisoft are still figuring out how they can
"Update it for modem audiences"
For such a huge game series for Ubisoft, they really treat their hardcore fans like garbage. Very slow launches. Zero news.
Bro Ubisoft is JIVING us
It’s not gonna come out soon I feel
Splinter Cell Remake started development between 2020 and 2021.
My guess on release is 2025 2026
It has some of the best lighting effects up until that point
Yes some of the best skills up until that point.
I had some of the best skills up until that point
I still think it’s a few years away tbh from being released. It’ll probably come out in 2026-27
Nahhh I don't think so. They started working on it in 2021
Not gonna lie, I hope all this wait is due to some kind of Story implementations like more missions because the original only had 10 missions plus a few DLC missions. Dont get me wrong I love Splinter Cell but ten missions today for $70 is gonna piss people off. They gotta add more content like either Spys vs Mercs or the Remake should be the first three games as one.
They are moving in the shadows,
Just like sam does.
They believe its enough on its own, so they probably will announce it late summer/early fall.
I totally understand people want Michael Ironsides back. But father time is undefeated, If I’m not mistaken I think had health issues that’s why he stepped away. As long as the next guy to take the mantle stays true to the character.
Huge splinter cell fan here.and yeah i agree 100%.Ironside made Sam who he is,but yeah,he cant go on forever, and tbh he wont fit in the remake.Just like batman voice actors, you can find someone to be in the spirit of sam fisher.
Maybe Disney made Ubisoft hold back from showing anything at Ubisoft forward. Maybe they thought a Splinter Cell announcement would overshadow Star Wars Outlaws.
How’s that turning out
They should've released something this forward it was very limited i agree
They just keepint the theme about being stealthy maybe theyll even shadow drop it 😂
They are obviously making it stealthily with lights off wearing night vision googles.
"Assassins Creed Hex-ay" 😭😭😭
Hex-eh sounds more german. Hex-ay sounds wierd.
I'm expecting this 2026 with sands of time.
At this point, unless they give it to Bordeaux, with total creative control, Ubisoft will just screw it up, make it some kind of half assed looter shooter rpg first person multiplayer sandbox battle Royal Macro transaction online only dumpster fire
I personally feel, if Shadows fails, they’ll shelve it once again, afraid that fans won’t buy it.
With mgs3 delta I am hoping that stealth genre gets revived
Stealth genre never left we had ghost recon wild lands and break point we had hitman games and mgs5 just this recent decade lol
Same
My favorite franchise. All they do is tease me. Beyond Good & Evil 2 will release before we see Sam again.
Two remakes I would love from Ubisoft, Splinter Cell and Rainbow six Vegas.
I used to think Michael Ironside was essential to Sam Fisher as well, but i loved Blacklist because of the gameplay, even though the new voice actor completely changed the dynamic of the character.
I think Sam needs a new voice actor to give LIFE to the character, not so monotonous. And i think they need to focus like 90% less on "MuH GrAfFiX", and 110% more on making the character NOT BORING and the gameplay SMOOTH and BRUTAL. If the gameplay is even remotely close to Blacklist, I'll love it.
Just let Splinter Cell be dead..i dont trust Ubisoft with games anymore
I still loved Conviction.
If they scrap this I’m going to be so mad
Fisher the mission's over
Atleast give us an update Ubisoft!
Please do baism vs arno
The great battle between "let's make it a stealthy intelligence gathering game like it's originally namesake" and "let's make it a third-person shooter John Wick simulator". But wait why not both? If we do both we can PISS OFF EVERYONE hurrayyyy *mass applause*. It'll come..... And they'll fuck it hard. We'll never get original Splinter Cell back nor original Ghost Recon. Everything has gotta be COD.
Disagree as much as I love the classic splinter games I enjoyed conviction and blacklist best of both mechanics would be amazing in stealth play style it plays like your classic splintercell but on alert mode it plays like conviction and blacklist they were fun to play in panther playstyle
@@arycorvette884 yes, conviction and blacklist are amazing
i will never forgive ubisoft for turning splinter cell into gears of war
Then they haven't started at all same to prince of persia remake.
I hope it's dead and buried, I don't want to find out how badly they can fumble it.
Bro ihst that you need the x box series x tp play ac shadows because I'm stuck the x box one
Ubisoft needs to do the remake I love splinter cell or at the very least bring out a new splinter cell game
I could easily accept a new voice for Sam Fisher or even a new cell. The problem is that they drastically changed Sam after CT, and in Blacklist, he was extremely different, as were the other characters, and none of the characters were good. Plus, the story was bad. The biggest problem is that the gameplay was not good. They didn't even seem to understand the atmosphere needed for the I.P.
If Michael Ironside is back as Sam Fisher an they also add on the best PvP Spy vs Mercs 40yr ol me is gonna go F#^#* INSANE 😂😂😂 💯
Spy vs mercs is awesome
Re-release the HD collection too.
Radio silence is fitting for this game
Maybe intentional
lets be honest.. the days of spliter cell are counted and ubi knows that.. this is why they dont put a lot of money into it.. because this genre simple doesnt sell. it cant make the money back completly not ignoring how much we loved it and would still.. but we are not enough.
the best they could do would implement all splinter mechanics into the next ghost recon game. having an optional fisher experience there would be amazing
It's really such a pity that ubisoft has turned into such a terrible company. Sam Fisher deserves better.
Please make a remake of splinter cell
I think the reason it's taking so long is because they keep making dumb decisions and then seeing somewhere that people don't want what they're doing so they end up scrapping it. I believe there was a small leak that Splinter Cell had it's own version of Battle Royale. Nothing confirmed on it but there was also a rumor that an open world Splinter Cell was cancelled. I'm hoping they just use a budget that matches the niche audience of this franchise. They need to just make a good Splinter Cell game and if it is built with a small budget then so be it, just make it a good Splinter Cell game. If the audience is small, make the budget small. Games can still be absolutely outstanding on small budgets but Ubisoft wastes so much money on film budget cutscenes and stupid effects that nobody cares about and the gameplay itself is clearly an afterthought. Then when it breaks even at best, they blame the genre rather than how much money they wasted on things nobody cares about.
ubisoft happend... modern ubisoft is just a shadow of its former self. they will release the remake sooner or later and you can bet your ass they will fuck it up.
Splinter cell a forgetten classic that Ubisoft continues to ignore. I would love a remake but we just need a new splinter cell in general
