one thing about these games where you can directly attack enemy units is it seems very hard to come back from behind on board. like if they have 3 units and you have 0 but then play one, they can just attack it down before it can do anything.
The back and forth reminds me of Star Wars Destiny, the last FFG Star Wars TCG. It also has a mechanic where you claim the location, possibly getting a benefit and going first next round but at the expense of passing the rest of the current round.
Such a fantastic card game to watch! Really enjoy seeing the back and forth activations in a turn. Might not get into the game yet, but I will certainly keep an eye on it! As a sidenote, just love seeing Jacob on these, fella is a treat to watch.
58:30 First of all, didn't anakin pull down a massive spaceship in a comic or the old Clone Wars series? Second of all, he has a padawan that could probably do the same thing if she got angry enough.
Between this video and the knowledge that there's a limited format that isn't just an afterthought, I finally decided to pick this game up today! Hopefully my LGS will start hosting limited again soon (I know stock has been low so I'm just hoping it works out for them sooner than later)
As an irredeemable Warhead (a term I tried to spread around back in the 90s but, like fetch, it never happened): if Wheeler wants to keep disliking Star Wars even if he turns out to love the game, he should watch Andor. It's a great pulp sci-fi show, and as it is the pinnacle of the entire franchise and nothing is likely to ever better it, afterward he can rest secure in hating on the rest of it for not being as good.
The multiplayer format is sweet, speaking as someone who detests commander. Having 2 leaders adds awesome combo potential, and the added tokens make for very fast dynamic games
Please do those North100-like videos Ben mentioned! I would love to see your usual skill and craft applied to SWU, and I know at least one other person who would no doubt be over the moon about it.
Fun Sam Witwer (Voice Actor of Starkiller) Fact: when he was voicing Darth Maul for the first time (spoilers: Darth Maul comes back in the Clone Wars), Darth Maul has gone insane. And so Witwer suggested that Maul had stayed alive by constantly reciting the Sith Code. And so Maul’s whispers during his return made the Sith Code fully canon (it was previously only in Books & Games)
"Playing other card games has made my relationship with Magic healthier and more enjoyable." Same. Playing other card games (like Unlimited here) got me out of Magic pretty much entirely. It made me realize there are so many better, more interesting games out there, and that Magic is well past its healthy design lifespan.
Love the design of this; I think this could work for a custom commander: Azrodul, Eternities Manifest Cost: 0 Legendary Eldrazi Azrodul, Eternities Manifest cannot return to the command zone. When Azrodul, Eternities Manifest enters the battlefield, exile a card from outside the game. Azrodul, Eternities Manifest gains color identity equal to the exiled card, then create an emblem with: "Skip your draw step. At the end of your turn, draw two cards. You may play a card from your hand face down onto the battlefield and it gains the ability: "Tap: Add one mana of any color in your commander's color identity." Exile Azrodul, Eternities Manifest. 0/1
I think it could even be a 0/0 because the ETB takes care of everything we want. I'd need a judge to weigh in on whether commander color identity is still in effect after it is exiled.
James is clearly attuned to the force with those blind C-3PO calls, daaamn
I agree with Wheeler. You should do another SWU stream. It's fun watching LLR play this game.
I would love to see some Twin Suns gameplay!

What do I want to see?! That's obvious. A reaction video of Wheeler reacting to the Star Wars movies.
Legends of Runeterra has you playing back and forth, but who goes first and gets to attack just swaps between players each turn
This game definitely reminds me more of LoR than any other game, and definitely in a good way.
The dynamic of when to take initiative is one of the most challenging, it is a really great mechanic.
The back and forth reminds me of Star Wars Destiny, the last FFG Star Wars TCG. It also has a mechanic where you claim the location, possibly getting a benefit and going first next round but at the expense of passing the rest of the current round.
So hyped to see LRR play this, and can't wait to see more content from you guys!
James not using Luke ability was driving me crazy🤣 Can't wait to see how everyone evolves when making their own decks.
Man, I watched the Lorcana vids as well and thought that looked interesting but this looks GOOD. I'd love to see more from y'all on this.

Glad to hear Gauntlet is still around! Went there a few times when I lived in Victoria on 2015-2017
So hyped to see my new favourite TCG on stream!
Wheeler's reaction to built in Monarch was right on brand
Initiative.
Laughing every time I hear Dodonna referred to as "Rebel Lord"
This game is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, amd id love to see kor of it from y'll!
Nice to see Jacob, James and the Benn Diagrams having fun with this! Looking forward to the Subathon version and any future AFKs with this game! :D

Once again I see Wheeler won the dice roll...

shoutout to the sultry Paul "hello"
In the Empire, it's leftenant. In the Rebellion, lootenant.
I cannot wait for more SWU content from LRR!

I want to see more and more of this from you. This game rules. Leia Aggression is my favorite deck.
Great intro by Wheeler.
To quote Kylo Ren "MORE!"

I would like to see Grievious as a general.
Also more Lorcana.
And more Jacob everywhere (on let's nope).
And more everyone having fun
Sabine! Not to be confused with Saabine both a clone and a car living in the Yukon
Bought the starter deck soley because of yalls video and I just played my first match with my buddy.
Went into a tournament with 1 week of experience, 3 bucks of upgrades for my vader starter deck and a dream and I got 2nd place.
This does relate to Legend of the Five Rings. It's almost as if someone picked up the Battle Phase from L5R and turned it into It's own game.
Play more of this. This game is sick
I'll bite - what was the secret source for cards?
So stoked to see you guys pick up SWU! Moar please!

Is there any plans on trying out the Sorcery Contested Realm TCG?
This game is *really fuckin cool*
Please please please tell me LRR will be doing a draft of this soon?
Bongle: Dongled.
yo, swtor! i was chiss operative (healer mostly)
A not so long time ago...on an island relativly far away...
Draft this please!
Can we please get Jacob on a commander game on FNPF? Please?
i try every time and i just cant make it through them, I just need to accept the fact that i do not like card games no matter what the IP is.

Thrifty's has good crab cakes, seasonally.
Star Wars:The Gathering?
NO! I will not dongle the bongle.
