- I finally got around to filming my highly requested and long awaited plant pot tour! 🥳 Collecting pottery and unique pieces and then mixing and matching them with my plants is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the plant hobby for me - it's like picking the perfect outfit for my plants! I think plants are so beautiful and it’s so much fun trying to find the perfect pot to compliment them. In this plant pot tour, I talk about where I get these plant pots, how I picked them, and who my favorite pottery artists are!
Some plant pots are from box stores like Homesense and Chapters Indigo, while others are from local nurseries and plant shops. 🛒
For the one-of-a-kind pottery pieces, I find and follow pottery artists on Instagram and turn on restock notifications so that I am ready to add the pieces to my cart once their shop opens! Their pieces are a bit more expensive, but I see them as investments that can last forever. I also appreciate the value in these pieces since they are all hand made and require a lot more skill, effort, and time to create ✨

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of your pots. It was nice to see each individual plant and give me some ideas for planters. I can imagine you making a pastel themed shelf in the future with the snail and the tall pot you have on the cat shelf. Also, I never had much of an interest in Hoyas but you are inspiring me to try out a couple. I will soon have one on my radar for purchase. I don't see any succulents. You can make a little succulent garden in that white cat pot with the odd shape you said you didn't know what to do with. Just an idea.. can't wait for the next video. Cheers.
thank you! Pastel could work, I can see the potential too! Hoyas are great houseplants to have, they actually grow quickly contrary to popular belief! Hmmm I don't really keep succulents because I used to live somewhere with very little natural sunlight so the succulents would not have thrived with me, but I might try again now that I have larger windows! What a collection of beautiful plants and pots ! You are so creative and resourceful. I thought I am the only few persons who use cups/mugs as cache pots 😉. I usually check out my local Goodwill store for pots or anything that I can use to showcase my plants, as there is no way I can afford to buy nice pots for each and every plants I grow. Most of my plants are succulents (and cactus), so I usually use terra cotta pots. However , I started to grow tropical plants since last summer , and I am kind of tired of looking at the clay pots 😂, so I have purchased a few nice looking pots to house the clay / plastic planters . I also use Japanese / Chinese ceramic bowls or tea cups as cache pots for some of my plants. I think they look kind of cute and artsy.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this video! I like Japanese and Chinese ceramics as well. I’m thinking of adding a few blue porcelain pieces to my shelf for a pop of color! I don’t keep many succulents but if I did, I think I would go for terracotta as well, or an unglazed clay 🥰
@@HerPlantStories Blue porcelain pots would be awesome addition to your collection ;) . I find that some succulent plants do NOT do well in terracotta pots, as they dry out so quickly, and you would have hard time catching up with watering them 😂

I only use grey clay pots for my plants. I have a really hard time with different planters everywhere 😅 But I must say that many of these are super cute 🥰
I think sticking to a color palette helps! Then you are able to get more variety but still maintain a cohesive look 🥰🥰

I really like your idea of using clear plastic fridge bins to hold crawling aroids (at 10:38 in the video). You could burn drainage holes into them and use their lids as drip pans. I also like your idea of propping up floppy plants with clear plastic sheets (at 16:38). Genius!
I worry about burning holes into this type of plastic, it's very rigid and brittle so I think it would end up cracking if I tried! The more flexible type of plastic would be better suiter to burning holes/drilling into, i think! Good suggestion nonetheless though ❤️ and yes the clear sheets are way more discreet compared to using plastic/wooden stakes! It doesn't visually take away from the plant 😄
I do the same thing as you, plant in plastic pots then put those into other pretty vessels. I collect green pottery and a lot of vintage pieces. It is like dressing your plants! I love your collection and your plants look marvelous!

For the broken pot, just use gold paint to trim along the cracks. No need to use real gold.

So nice!! Just wondering how do u keep the water from goin onto your furniture if u keep the inner pot inside a decorative pot which has holes too? 😅
My substrate/soil is very well draining so I let the nursery pot drain all the way through for a a minute or two over the sink before I return it to the cover pot! 😁 it usually only takes less than a minute for smaller pots, and about 1-2 minutes for bigger ones

hahahaha I never actually thought of that 😅 I guess it might be because I admire the artists a lot and I gave their work a lot of thought before I decided to purchase, and each pot is special to me, so I am able to remember where I got them 😁
