I never was into this movie. I did however love Breakfast Club, Goonies, License To Drive, Just one of the Guys, Red Dawn, Karate Kid movies, Sixteen Candles, Stand By Me, Less Than Zero, Pretty in Pink, Revenge of the Nerds, Lost Boys, and so many others. The 80s had the best coming of age movies, and the 80s was the best decade in the 20th century, by far. I was 6 years old in 1980 so I lived my prime child years in the 80s and it was by far the best time I have ever had.
I agree with you about the 80's. I was a couple years older than you and also enjoyed the movies you mentioned. I really loved Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and Karate Kid. It's funny, because when I got my 2nd computer in 1996 I had just a browser so I had no idea how to get to the stuff I was used to on AOL, and compuserve. It was really weird going from a full service ISP which had everything condensed into one service to just a browser and using the search function to look for info. Never the less though when I was 8 years old I got an IBM PC-XT and I used that to load up a BBS and then I got a phone line of my own at 8 years old (landline) and I used it to run my BBS at 8 freaking years old. My older brother who was 14 at the time had his IBM PC-JR and he was running his BBS as well. His BBS was more popular than mine, and he had three phone lines running to his BBS. In the middle of the night we had our ringers off, but when looking at the computer you can see people on your BBS, and you would hear the modem sound (not very loud) whenever someone called. I had so many people wanting to be my co-sysop, but my brother was my co-sysop, and I was one of his. Good times man!

This is my Favorite 1980's film and my favorite Brat Pack film. So, real to life and how things used to be in the mid 1980's. Like how life is after College and you don't know what you want to do with your life. A Masterpiece.

you have to watch it, honestly was very skeptical about this movie, or had too high of hopes. Nothing bad or was let down, was COMPLETELY shocked to see what had happened though. I think if you want to build a "relationship" with the actors, you should watch the breakfast club first. Then watch this movie, its completely unreal, to me at least... to see a few actors behave in certain ways. Although to answer your question, the trailer was just depicting and taking out small snippets of the characters life to show what theyre all going through, good or bad.

The younger generation is just awful. They have been spoiled and ruined by modern technology. Take their phone away and they have nothing. It's like the phone is their soul now.
I'm born in 92, but my aunt showed me these types of movies when I was a young teen and I loved them, my dad also showed me older action movies as well, movies back in the day felt more genuine, more real, the people looked like pretty regular people, whilst today everyone in the movies have the perfect body, and a face full of makeup and probably a bit of work done and false veneer teeth, movies nowadays look very fake and doesn't feel genuine anymore (well we still get some good ones here and there, but most are so fake).
