Lowe has had some surgery and procedures to maintain his looks - just not as drastic and obvious as Moore's.

And that Ringwald fell for Viggo Mortenson, who played her husband. Rumor wss that they had a fling, whilst McCarthy, who was jealous, had a thing with actress Patti D'Arbanville, who was also filming with them.

Andrew McCarthy has the same energy as Paul Rudd. Both handsome, funny, intelligent, easy going, laugh easily at themselves. I could watch either of them talk for hours
He seems like such a sweet guy. Very laid back, humble, quiet (almost by a little bashful at times). And super nice. He’s old enough to be my dad but I still think he’s really cute.
Oh I love that Weekend at Bernie's was his favorite movie, because it's my favorite movie of his, too! It was stupid, but it was so fun! I love hearing that it was fun filming it, because that totally comes through when you watch it. It's just good, silly, crazy fun. I really enjoyed watching "Brats" and feeling all the nostalgia for the 80s 😻
Thought exactly the same thing. Such a POWERFUL movie for it's time. I'd even say a "must watch" film. Very intense & realistic performances I thought, without the typical Hollywood fairytale ending of that era. RDJ was expectional in it, as was McCarthy & Jamie Gertz. Highly recommended imo.
Weekend at Bernie's 2 is one of my favorite movies. I grew up on St. Thomas where it was filmed, and I left living there in 1990 2 years before filming, giving us a snapshot of the island as I remember it. I notice the video didn't mention Less Than Zero - a film every teen should watch to see the horrors of heavy drug use.
I hope you read this I watched your documentary, and it was wonderful! I was so surprised because as fans we loved the brat pack! And we couldn’t figure out why ya’ll didn’t maximize that angle instead of run from it. I mean hell it’s been 30 something years and here I am watching a documentary about it just as happy as I can be.
In the '80s, stars were always trying to run away from what was working for them for fear of being "typecast." Shelley Long left Cheers, Michael Keaton quit Batman after two movies, Harrison Ford said he wanted to be killed off in the third Star Wars so he could never come back, and Christopher Reeve had to be dragged back to do Superman IV after saying he was quitting the role (which is a sequel he shouldn't have done, admittedly). Even most of the Ghostbusters cast did not want to do a sequel. It was just a different way of thinking back then. Nowadays, every actor wants a franchise where they can play the same part ten times.
Love this Andrew it's so great to hear you talk about your movies just love you thank you for bringing back memories of my teen years ❤🫂 love all your movies!!!
Heaven Help Us is his best movie! It is so under rated it is a shame! He is so good in it! I think Andrew could have been great in he would have kept on that track of movies. Very solid actor.

Always a fan of you & your buddys! I think i saw you one day at Montgomery State Park Restaurant a long time ago & didn’t know your name till i finally saw you in a video with Rob! If the guy wasn’t you then your twin must hang out at that restaurant that i heard lately had been closed down in Dickson, TN! ♥️🌟👋
Rob Lowe was insanely hot and exciting back in the day. But Andrew melted our hearts, he WAS dreamy and poetic and sweet. I cant imagine Blane being a "jock" type character. Andy would not have wanted an empty meathead.
When i was in my tweens and early teens in the 80s i had the biggest man crushes on Rob Lowe and Morten Harket from A-ha. i wanted to look like those guys SO bad, i was TALL and SUPER skinny and NO girls were looking at me before 16. Andrew works in Pretty In Pink because there is a difference between kids that are popular because they are rich preppy kids and kids that are popular because they are jocks. they often overlap and hang out in the same popular circles, but Andrew was believable as a rich preppy kid. and i mean they had already done Molly falling for the square jawed jock in Sixteen Candles.
0:39 That's not even McCarthy in the scene and the way the other dude is exaggerating his movements and going out of his way to avoid showing his face, profile, etc., likely not Lowe either
McCarthy was my least favorite actor(if you can call him one)of the Brat Pack.Guess i was right about his acting since i think he only after, did Weekend at Bernies.
In all fairness did Judd Nelson at 25 in The Breakfast Club, James Spader at 25 in Pretty in Pink, Alan Ruck at 30 in Ferris Bueller's Day Off or Jennifer Grey at 25 in Ferris look like teenagers? Of course, not but they were all great and I'll take a talented older actor over a less talented younger actor.
To be fair, when I was in high school (84-88) I saw plenty of people, high school juniors/seniors who looked like they were at least 21 back then. I remember thinking, “No way are they 17-18 years old!” They were though! One day when my mom picked me up from school my freshman year she asked me, “Why is that middle aged woman wearing your uniform?” I said, “Mom, that’s ___ and she’s a sophomore, she goes to this school.” My mother was flabbergasted. The 15-16 year old really did look middle aged because of her hairstyle and glasses she wore, plus a few other things. She was healthy, too, no underlying reason for her to look so much older.
And this is a perfect example of why you should get an education to fall back on. Then you wont have to do desperate acts of clutching your youth like this.
Andrew McCarthy has been and is a very successful actor, writer, travel writer, director and went to New York University! His net worth is $13 million. And now the documentary he made is a huge success too! Hooray for honoring the past, the people, the 80's, John Hughes, life!
@carolynturk-hu7je Andrew is a bitter old man that holds onto the past in a delusional manner. The way he bullied Emilio and the article writer in the doc was sad. There's a reason past co workers/friends called him problematic.
You sound SO jealous, because you ARE!! Andrew did just FINE without a formal education, and this looking back is not desperate, it's a necessity for his huge fan base!
@TheBOG3 I'd advise taking a screenshot and comparing it against an image search of John Hughes. You might notice that their facial characteristics don't match.
