Many are not able to give up that lifestyle so soon. And he made a conscious decison to have a family and bring up his kids away from Hollywood. He also stayed relevant by moving to TV. He has led a fortunate life because he made some sensible and mature decisions while he was still young. Good for him.
I grew up very young and lived a somewhat crazy lifestyle, i loved Rob as a young girl and we all knew this brat pack was really playing with fire with their lives. I’m so grateful he survived those years and turned his life round for his family ❤
I am enjoying him in Wild Bill. It is a different culture in the midlands in the UK and I like how he handled the role...his character is forward thinking and well intentioned but also pretty worldly.

Rob Lowe had a more interesting career then at first initially realized. It is interesting that the movies he has acted in would not automatically be connected to him and yet here he is.
His son may have learned a lot about the business and be totally qualified to work on the show. He says he admires their work ethic. That doesn't sound like he just handed it to him. He sounds like he would expect him to be competent and pull his weight.
