You made the right choice about not driving along the highway in the wet weather better off being safe than sorry especially when you’re in a van because your van is your home
Scott, Rain cleans the air. It always seems so fresh afterward and so much healthier for your lungs. Lessens migraine head aches too. You learned to go with the flow. A good skill set indeed. When a van dweller there always has to be a back up plan. Save something you love to do for days just like this. Like museums and seeing the contributions of local artists. I always visit welcome centers and listen to the narratives of their hosts. I learned a lot about local folk lore and recipes that way. Enjoy.
Hi I’ve never heard that about migraines…I’ve been having so many more since I moved to Arizona. Planning on moving back up to Oregon so we’ll see how that affects these headaches, thank you
Sometimes we all need an unexpected detour from our plans to " change it up " a little and make things more interesting exactly like your weather day did for you that day. Loved the vid... Thanks ! 🚐

It’s good to see you enjoying the wet rainy walkabouts. Also you’re wise to be careful of the weather since it so unpredictable in our time, and can turn dangerous. Albuquerque has had some rain, not enough of course. But we certainly need more snow for our ski areas. But I live here precisely because of the mild weather and semi arid high mountain conditions. I missed my November California trip due to a bout with Covid which I got through ok and now I’m making a spring time plan. I have a friend in Carpinteria to visit. Keep up the nice videos and do take good care of yourself. Give an update on your health status when you can. ❤️
I like polenta mixed with cheese more like mashed potatoes consistency with a ratatouille on top. Basically a tomato based vegetable stew with onion peppers zucchini and or eggplant. There are cans of eggplant appetizer that work well on top of the polenta that they sell at Trader Joe's- easier for van life. I think I have said this before Scott, forgive me if I have- but I wear wool socks all year long! Best thing for my feet anyway- I even wear them to bed! Stay warm and safe!

And I hope you're not caught in that crazy rain event they're predicting for northern California!!!
I've had a terrible day. This older episode came up on my feed, and Scott showing off Scotia really calmed things down for me, makes me want to visit there too. Thank you!
I love the sound of rain on the roof too. For some reason I plastered the interior walls and ceiling of my van with dodomat (sound deadener; I think Nate Murthy suggested it) in the early days and it just muffles the pitter-patter a little. Very relaxing. In fact I purposefully part in exposed spots here on the Cornwall coast during a storm to feel the van rock and shudder (the only cause if its rocking...). Love stormy vanlife!
Ah, yes. Your weather would be similar to the Pacific Northwest. After I installed cork on my ceiling, the only disappointment was the muffled rain sound
It's been raining and raining here in northern California. Everything feels soggy. We are happy to have it, but it would be better spread out a bit. 😁 We haven't spent very much time in Scotia, however, we sometimes like to stop at Hobie's for a sandwich on our way to spend a few hours at the river in the summer time. ☀️ So glad you like our little Humboldt County. I will never tire of driving through the Avenue of the Giants.
