Great to see you guys back together!! We just got a sent a handful of Bruno fragrances, looking forward to smelling them now. Aso, I appreciate the seltzer fandom. -Camille
It’s cool, we’re giving you a gentle dose of that classic PNW passive aggression. But a care package may be needed to soothe any hurt feelings. Thomas will make you some of his special brownies, too...🤯
This was fun. The yet perfume community is great….sensitive, intelligent, generous…all coming together over a common obsession for different reasons. I’m your latest subscriber.
Just discovered you channel and you guys are hysterical! Fragrance, metal, and PNW snarkyness. All the good things. I'm your neighbor to the north in Olympia. Look forward to diving into you back catalog of videos. Does Thomas have his own channel? I must watch it:)
Ah! Olympia--nice to meet you, neighbor! Thanks for your kind words. I love Thomas...a true salt of the earth sort of fellow. He has a channel called Early Greek, but he tends to spend more time over on Instagram these days.
I was the one who DM'd you that first question, and the answer met and then exceeded my expectations! I'm dying from laughter , and from the smell of Furyo wafting over from the other side of the US. :)
I really enjoyed this video! FOMO is real. I also love the approach Thomas just loves a fragrance and ... just doesn’t buy it! Buying something is really easy these days and a great collection just means that you spent money on something. And yes, I also have these feelings when I open the door to my fragrance collection and yet: I find it very difficult to let go. Oh, and boxer briefs for sure! Thanks so much for the wonderful hour I spent with you.
Agree about taking perfumes too seriously at times. Not everything has to be a complex, challenging, abstract, masterpieces. Sometimes it just smells good like Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka.
Love the video! :-D FOMO is the worst. I still have a bunch of fragrances which I bought because of FOMO and in retrospect I did not miss anything. Also I have to admit I care way too much about the personal life of perfumers. Loved reading about Jean-Claude Ellena meeting Edmond Roudnitska and how Roudnitska sent him home and said to him, that he should come back tomorrow, because he smells like detergent :-D
For me, there are juuuust a few that I’m glad I nabbed, but at least I tried them ahead of time. Once everyone starts dropping $1k on bottles that sell out in 5 minutes, I lose all interest!
The Arcades? Sadly, I do miss walking around Washington DC because of the beautiful, and interesting, mix of gothic, classical and modern architectures. It's a dyslexic smattering that remains centered around a neoclassic theme...and it just works. I relocated to Dallas in late-2018 and Dallas is the most spirit-sucking display of concrete, steel and glass unattractiveness in my about any city...with the best part being the building lights at night. Thankfully, I'm 25-miles outside of the city and don't commute there on a daily. Boxers vs Briefs? I was going ask if this was turning into an episode of Jeremy Fragrances...so glad you moved on. LOL! Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme Made in Italy formulation. You and me too! I have a backup bottle, but only wear it sparingly nowadays. Honestly, I could wear this everyday and never get tired of it. C'est la vie. Another great inexpensive modern fragrances (surprised Thomas didn't mention this one) is Oscar de la Renta Gentlemen. $26 - what a bargain!
WD has a spray pokey thing? Too funny! I've known that since the late 1960s when using it on my Schwinn to make it stop squeaking. LOL! Can't believe the "G" man goes to Max Forti for his fragrance recommendations...and blends too? Dare I ask? Lot's of great sandalwood scents out there (Santal Majuscule is a great one, and others) but I like my sandalwood with a bit of that barbershop vibe...so Chanel Egoiste and Geo. F. Trumper Sandalwood are near the top.
Who is Gene Hoglan? At least Galen knows about Slayer...lol! But honestly, Keith Moon is a total different kinds of drummer...but how knows? He could have been quite the psycho on the skins had Thrash Metal been around during this time. Cheers!
Holy Crap! The dynamic-duo is together again after more than a year. Was this a livestream? Regardless, I'm gonna have to watch this one is multiple chunks of 15-minutes. Cheers!
Nope, this was pre-recorded. Thomas and I agree that livestreams cause too much emotional and gastrointestinal distress before, during, and after. So it may be a while before we doing another 😢
@@theaetherealist You just can't let in all the riff-raff. LOL! Regardless, it was nice seeing y'all back together and not hiding in your basements. Then again, I'm in Texas and we never really shut-down other than a momentary pause. Hopefully, people will learn to stop eating crap frankenfood that is void of nutrients, start eating nutritious foods, get plenty of vigorous daily exercise and quality sleep, and quit with the toxic recreational drugs, prescription drugs, and excessive alcohol that's killing their immune system. We shall see. Cheers!
To really appreciate and fully comprehend other people's taste and affection (when it comes down to perfume), I often ask the question: What is your favourite note in a fragrance, and do you prefer the note "focused" or do you best like it blended with some other note? People mostly thinks that is a hard question. So here is my question to you: What is your favourite note, and can you tell me your best reccomendations for each (prominent) note? I would love an answer from you, I really appreciate your work.
H24 as a “precursor of things to come” . My disappointments immeasurable and my day is ruined. Galen and Thomas, this was a enjoyable and entertaining video. Sincere thanks!
I had to chuckle when Thomas mentioned that he's pursued the perfect pair of boxers - apparently I'm not alone in that endeavor. it's paramount to be comfortable when wishing to enjoy perfume. ahem!
Loved this conversation! Thomas doesn't need to buy things because he's filled with pleasure at the mere mention of great perfume. 😂 My best sandalwood would have to be Chanel Bois des Isles followed closely by Egoiste.
Ps, that tube on the WD-40 bottles works great to replace or extend the length of the stock tube on decant atomizers. In case you get a long dabber or non-spray sample vial, cut that red tube to length and jam a travel atomizer on there. Problem solved. Even if it's only used to spray the fragrance into a sprayable decant vial, it makes dabbers all that more manageable.
18 sprays of Kouros. That totally sounds like a channel name. And "holy piss" a fragrance. 7:41 Yup. And I'm with you on the boxer briefs Galen. Why settle when you can have it all.
Or a song? I woke up in the middle of the night singing that line to the tune of Bob Dylan’s “One More Cup of Coffee.” I may need to get Servus to cut a backing track!
This has been one of the most entertaining things I've watched. It all sounded like it could become a podcast and for Galen... I'm confused... how do you know Dave Lombardo and not Gene Hoglan? Thomas, hand the guy a tape, no wait, a link.. damn I'm old. Exodus are great, anyway. But aside all that you two are a treat together! Thanks for the laughs ;-)
@@theaetherealist ahahah I was just kidding, there's no shame at all. He started his drummer career inspired by Lombardo. He played with Dark Angel and I suspect his spirit animal was an octopus 😁 To Thomas: he actually jammed with Exodus, there's proof on RUclips 🤓 Have a nice evening you two 🤗

Wonderful 2 man show that would nor be out of place on stage or mainstream cable for sure bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Alright! Thanks for the Q!
in art, modern is something thats over 80yrs old, contemporary is everything under 80yrs. LOVE this video :) I need to find some seltzer water here!
ps. people might be here for the Hegel but I'm all about the Benjamins
Gotta love Thomas' rants
He’s legally obligated to go on at least one rant within a 24 hour period, weekends included 😜
