About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

Elaine would rather knock on people’s doors in a building she doesn’t live in than walk to the restaurant to pick it up. Yep, that’s NYC! 🤣🤣
Strange custom these New Yorkers have
Because she wants to do it more often and the restaurant is far away.
Lmao I actually never thought of that. She totally could just end up picking it up 😂😂😂
That's not NYC, just Jews
@switch12345678 - You’ve obviously never lived in NYC. Nothing is “too far away”. We’re talking about a few city blocks, not miles.
I love that Elaine would rather it alone in a random janitor’s closet than alone in a restaurant.
The restaurant is probably far more away from her home, so it does make sense.
@@_Shadoh_yes, because this show always makes sense. 😂❤
“See there’s a certain flounder” Lol

Well, he is Stanley Spadowski
Couple of french doors would really open that place up. Oh, but they have a slop sink.
"Um nothing I just um...I wasn't in there" hahahaha

The rent on that janitor's closet: $4000/month
Complete with a dirty mop...a nasty sink and the permeating smell of BLEACH😂

Hey what episode is this??
@@vastavvikta5456 The pothole. Season 8 episode 16.
Clearly fictional. I’ve never seen a chinese restaurant turn down cash.
Wow really
Or a delivery guy who would refuse a tip after traveling to the customer
These delivery guys on bikes riding on the wrong side of the street risk their lives for delivering food. It’s nuts.
Yup
George can get a black family to let him watch a movie in there apartment but Elaine can't get some white dude to order food for her
The neighbour "When is that?" 🤣
I used to work in food service that delivered and this is beyond accurate lmao. This is why I can’t stand people who say Friends is better than Seinfeld.
Seinfeld was ahead of its time. Friends was more idealistic in a time of innocence. Seinfeld reflected reality in a humorous way.
The only thing accurate in Friends was their portrayal of female nature.
Friends was NOT realistic living in NYC!! Seinfeld was definitely more accurate of the lunacy of the city!
Reminds me of when John McEnroe played tennis. "it was on the line! The lines are good"!
Both shows are great and really well written
Friends is overrated
Like a restaurant would mind you meeting them within delivery range to get your food. Lol
🤣
I know. It's like they don't want business.
I was once just a couple streets too far for delivery from jimmy John's, the employee just flat out said sorry cannot help and hung up. Never gave them business ever again. Such a pretentious business model.
Back then before cell phones it would have been a bigger deal. A worry about going to meet someone at the delivery range without an actual address, and have them not be there, no way of calling them back or asking where they are. Even in larger delivery areas now, they sometimes have to call for directions. Though the delivery person wouldn't really care AFTER they'd brought the food there.
That can be a recipe for disaster if the person ordering is a thief looking to rob the delivery driver
3:10 - I like how the delivery guy is trying to get a peek inside like he knows he shouldn't be there for some reason. 🤣
These delivery guys are smart and not very trusting.
I always loved the next scene with Elaine walking all dirty with the old carpet in her shoulder and saying hello to George while he is working in the street
Especially when she drops that old sewing machine and Newman runs it over. 😂😂😂😂
Oh it's that episode okay. The one where Kramer adopts a road
A foodie would definitely go through these lengths.
Wouldn't a foodie prefer to eat at the restaurant? Who cares if it's by yourself.
@@jackgrimaldi8685 takeout? tell him you are going to work? This episode is so dumb that's what I love about Seinfeld
A Foodie would go to the resturant

And no way Chinese immigrants would refuse to cross the street to make money.

He's a very dutiful emplyoee.
"If we deliver to you, then what? 85th street, Wall St, Mexico, 81st street?"

Elaine is sick... 😆 She couldn't just order it by going in the place and take it home....lol..this is the best show.
Why should she when the restaurant is far away but the building is just across the street?
@@switch12345678 read your own post you said the building was across the street and far away at the same time that makes no sense if across the street would be able to call for pick up order and would be able to walk there before they finish cooking it
@@basillah7650 lol, but the restaurant is not in the building where she received all the deliveries. Did you see the video at all?

Friend of mine who lived in Manhattan yrs ago, said some restaurants really do this. They have/had a delivery boundary of up to 10-12 blocks. Basically for safety for their delivery runners.
Did they deliver on foot or with a bike?
But that was barely hitting a boundary, it was literally only 1 street out of bounds. Not even a street, ACROSS the street. No restaurant would refuse for that. Even in NY.
May be it is a honorary agreement among restaurants, so the restaurants don't encroach territory of other restaurants in the area?

Elaine could have just gone and picked up her carry out order at the restaurant! Fast forward to 2020, I loved going to pick up my carry out food. A way to get out of the house during the pandemic!

Cleaning out the basement.
Janitors meeting.
Partaking in the moldering vegetable lasagna down in the basement, because that's where it's at.
Best episode hands down!
Ironically the best Chinese restaurant nearest me is called China Panda. I'm probably within their delivery zone but I always pick it up myself, something that apparently didn't occur to Elaine here and bring it home. Even if it was out of delivery distance she could take a bus, taxi, Uber/Lyft or even drive over there and back. Obviously though, that eliminates the plot. Am shocked that the janitor's closet which she pretended was an apartment was unlocked, what with all the chemicals and dangerous items in there, especially since the superintendent was concerned about children getting into hazardous items in the basement.
Address discrimination!
I never understood why she just didn’t go the restaurant and get a Take Away. There’s even a Take Out sign in the restaurant.
It's funnier this way
Elaine is uhhh......supercilious

1st time served in America!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 She rolled the dice 🎲 with her life on that 1
The time and fantasy she puts on making them deliver, wow! She would have been able to go to the restaurant, back home, eat quicker than all her "doings". :)
There should have been a reason why Elaine couldn't just go to the restaurant and pick up the food herself
That must be some flounder
"What, what do you want?"
Why does the delivery guy cares where Elaine really lives? That restaurant's policy is to not deliver beyond a boundary and she solves that problem.
Exactly, he made a sale I don’t see what the issue is.
It's obviously just a show and shouldn't be taken too seriously, but you could argue that allowing people from outside the radius to pick up food at the edge of the radius, could result in a huge increase of trips to the edge of the radius, increasing their delivery time and cost.

Postmates and Uber Eats have their drivers picked up food 15-20 minutes away and deliver 20 minutes on the opposite direction. It's stupid. The food does get cold and the ice on the drinks melt. Their drivers spend more of their time on road than delivering.
Food would be spoiled, the restaurant would be blamed.
