- In today's vlog we do some things we've never done before and do a little experiment! We wanted to see if you absolutely need FastPasses to get on the 2 rides in Pandora: World of Avatar or if you could get to the park early enough and just get in the stand by line. Spoiler: You should probably get fastpasses for Flight of Passage but you might be able to get a ride in on the Navi River Journey in the stand by line like we did. The wait time sign said the river journey was a 20 minute wait but we only waited 5 minutes! Then we tried to eat breakfast and failed but we totally got to adopt a shoulder banshee on this trip! That banshee thing reminded me of my first Disney world trip in the late 70's. I remember everyone walking around with invisible dogs on leashes. Being a kid I had to have one. The illusion didn't last long when I figured the leash had a metal rod in it Lol.
Hey, I remember having one of those, and the timing is right, but I had no idea we might have gotten it at Disney World! I learned a song in first grade about a little invisible dog named Germs, so I especially loved the invisible dog leashes. :-D

TIM!! JEN!! My daughter and I were THERE that morning - AT ROPE DROP!!
But here's the thing.....
We came off a cruise that morning, left the ship at 6: 45 (Port Canaveral), and hauled butt to hit Flight of Passage super-early on our ONLY day of Disney for this trip. I recorded the times it took to do things that morning... here goes:
8: 05 - We're here - and even though the park opens at 9, we're already in the 40th row of cars
8: 25 - Through the turnstile?? What?? YHIPPEEE!!
8: 28 - Held up in a big crowd waiting at the bridge entrance to Pandora.
8: 50 - They let us into Pandora about 8: 30. At 8: 50 the line is moving quite quickly. The sign automatically said it's a 60 minute wait - but we'll see.
9: 30 - The line took 25 minutes... and the ride was INCREDIBLE!! Walking off now.
9: 35 - In line for Navi River Journey - the time reads 60 minutes as well. (yes, it's going slowly...it probably WILL be 60 minutes)
10: 35 - Got on the ride.
10: 38 - Off the ride. I liked it. My daughter - not so much. NOT worth a 60 minute wait...but ok.

We went on to take Express transportation to Epcot (Frozen Ever After and lunch), Express Transportation to Magic Kingdom (Festival of Fantasy parade, Disney Railroad, Little Mermaid's Grotto, People Mover, Prince Charming Carousel, Shopping, Haunted Mansion*, Seven Dwarves Mine Train*, Shopping, Big Thunder Railroad*, Dinner from Cosmic Ray's while sitting RIGHT in front of the castle waiting to see Happily Ever After for the first time

My family went to Animal Kingdom last week and we got to the park around 8:30. Because we didn't have a fast pass for Flight of Passage, we thought we might as well wait in the morning because it would be a long line all day. When we finally reached the end of the line, it was about 20 feet from Harambe Market. Once the ride offically opened at 9:00, it only took us 45 minutes to get on the ride. It really helps that the queue is so themed because it makes the waiting not feel as long!

When we did rope drop last February for FOP, we ended up waiting three hours because the ride broke down a few times while we were waiting in line. It was my first time riding it so I thought it was worth it but I would never wait that long again!
Hey Tim and Jen! Quick tip for the Banshee you adopted! I did some research and turns out it is a wire driven puppet. Throughout the cable there is wires that cause the parts on the puppet to move. Make sure the cable is taught and straight to get the most out of the movement effects, otherwise the effects will be weaker. Love the vids thank you for sharing! (edit: 18:29 Tim should be the official Universal Banshee model because that kid sure liked Hubert..)

We arrived at Pandora at about 8:30 on Sunday and there was a pretty big crowd of people already waiting at the gate in front of us. Nonetheless, it took about 25-30 minutes to get on Flight of Passage and all that was walking so it didn't seem long at all. So, for anyone wondering, I definitely think getting there early enough is worth it. My family and I did it and I don't regret it one bit. 👍👍👍 I also met Tim and Jenn that day at Windtraders and it made my trip to Orlando even more incredible than it already was. They are the absolute sweetest people and were so approachable. I know I'll remember that moment forever! ❤️ - Clara, from Montreal, Canada

I prefer the waxed moustache when Tim has a beard, the waxing of the moustache and the clean shaven chin kind of weirds me out, I don't know why??!!??!!

I rope dropped Flight of Passage during 8am Magic Hours today & got in and out of the ride in 40 minutes. The key is to get at the gate AT LEAST 30 minutes before opening. Also, if you can, don't bring a bag. One of the biggest setbacks for some people was the bag check line. The crowds may be intimidating but don't worry, the Animal Kingdom cast members make the experience very smooth :) Hope this helps some people! Great video, guys!
The banshee is air pressure powered so you need to make sure you have the leash straight and I recommend to clip it to the pocket on your shorts and start moving the controls for a while and then the banshee moves very much like it is alive! It is worth it I wear it to Disneyworld every time and if you don't have the stand and no where to put the magnet just stick it to the banshee I was told by a cast member "we still follow the concept of the Animal Kingdom by making our products as green as they can be."
I took my dad to Flight of Passage last week. It was my second time. We did *exactly* what you did, in terms of timing, and yup- we waited 2 hours and 40 minutes. Thankfully, he smiled and laughed the whole way through the ride itself. He said it reminded him of when he was in his 20s and owned a motorcycle. :-)

Jenn and Tim, I hope Disney listens to you both and knows that the early breakfast is needed and they ARE missing an opportunity to make more $$$. Hubert is cute and a unique gift for that area of the park.
Although I've never experienced waiting in line (I've had fastpasses each time) I find that going early in the morning the wait times exceed 3 hours but if you wait till mid-day I've seen 90 minutes. Also I am a banshee owner and I've found that you have to tie the cord a certain way to make it very stable.

Jenn, on your Instax mini camera There is a little dial right on the lens of the camera that should have pictures of A House a Cloud A Sun and a Brighter sun plus it should say Hi-key and those you can change to help the flash on your camera and that will help with outside pictures if you change that to the bright sun!!!!! Hope that helps!!

That's what I thought. At first I was all happy and stuff but then she said it was like a hot Dole Whip. Made me kinda sad because the lumpia my aunt makes are the kind with meat filling and I love them.

Usually I never respond to RUclips videos or channels. Time to make an exception! I've been planning our Orlando trip that is to take place in a few days, for the last month and a half. A few sources have been very welcome to have and yours is one, to get in the Disney / Universal mood mainly. I must say I've become a fan of Tim's way of presenting. Tim is a consistently funny guy without trying to be so. I think one of the main reasons for this channel's success is that their two owners are 100% genuine and modest. After we'll have returned from Florida I'll probably not stop by every day anymore due to diminished relevance, but I'll surely come and take a peek now and then, mainly to find out how things will be evolving in Hollywood Studios. Thanks for all the updates and be well!

We went to AK last week for the first time to see the wonderful world of Avatar and let's just say it was worth every penny! We had fast pass for the Na'vi River and My husband and 9 yr old waited 2 1/2 hours to ride the flight of passage and I got to ride it as a fast pass since he revived the rider switch :) thank you hubby! My son was so excited he got to ride it 2 times! We eat at Santu'li Canteen 2 times and my son adopted a fabulous banshee! We couldn't have asked for a better day! Thank you both for all the amazing tips you give us!
Honestly I cannot get a fast pass for flight of passage or na'vi river journey at all... praying we can get up early enough for a reasonable standby queue 😩

TJ Deitz I went yesterday and we got in at 8:30 and they let us in but the wait was 65 because it wasn't open yet

Jen! When it's a really sunny day try covering the flash on your instax with your hand or some tape. It doesn't do too much but it can help your photos not be so washed out! Also try putting it in a dark place while it develops, you don't need to shake it!
We waited 90mins for River Journey in Sept. We managed to Snag an FP for Flight of Passage while there. Waits got as long as 5 hrs!!!
My son and I each adopted a banshee. We love our banshees. I also recommend the perch for each for easier display when they are not in use.
When they first opened I thought the adoption fee was $50. Didn't take long for them to increase those prices. Pushy sales people. I don't like that. HB is cute though.
Banshies work via 2 tension wires... kinda like bicycle breaks... straighten the cord, if it’s scrunched up when you pull the triggers it’s not able to fully extend/contract :)

No!! I was in Animal Kingdom on Sunday!! Apparently Fastpasses for anything in Pandora sold out a while ago, and we waited 180 minutes for Flight of Passage. Worth it!

$70 for a glorified T-Rex head on a stick seems extreme. I also could never see spending $70 on anything Avatar related. That movie was alright, but has not aged well. I feel like Disney latched onto the wrong franchise here.

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's ruined for everyone. What did you expect from a movie that was made in 2009? I personally enjoyed it, so you can't make it seem like it's crap just because you hated it.

I’m a former CM, the folks you told about the time discrepancy, they don’t really have an ability nor really are concerned about such things. It may go further if you find an email or perhaps their is a “report an issue” option on the app itself. I’m a huge Disney Fan. But after graduating school, I decided I wanted to just enjoy the magic rather than see behind the scenes, I felt like I was ruining Disney by being a CM. So I resigned my post as a monorail pilot and got my platinum annual pass and have been happy since. Love love your show.

Enjoyed the video. Thanks! What really irks me is the fact that my family spends over $500 to get into Animal Kingdom for 1 day, and Disney does not even give us a reasonable chance to go on their most popular attraction. Flight had over a 3 hour wait from opening to closing - and Fast Pass was not even an option for several months. If Disney truly cared about overcoming this common complaint, you would think that they would stop closing the park 3 hours earlier than Magic Kingdom to accommodate the guests. An additional 3 hours per day would certainly shorten the lines, and maybe even allow more opportunities for people to reserve a Fast Pass for their most in-demand attractions.
Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the other parks for the same reason they don't have fireworks - because of the animals. The park is primarily about the animals and their health, wellbeing and safety come first. They need time to rest, the caretakers need time to do their jobs. It's a zoo that happens to have some awesome rides, but don't expect it to keep regular theme park hours.
We were at Disney last week and got the opportunity to ride Navi River as a standby but had fast passes for Flight of Passage. Thanks for all your videos. It made our trip so much more enjoyable to get some perspective before we got there!

We just missed you guys at Animal Kingdom. I was there with my family on Saturday. We had the same issues with Pandora. The lines were way too long. We didn't even get to ride Navi River Journey. We got there right at opening too. My daughter adopted the same colored banshee that you did. She was so excited to get it.

That snack is actually a dessert option at Yak & Yeti. It’s fried wontons with pineapple cream cheese filling and is served with warm vanilla sauce and grilled pineapples. It’s one of THE best desserts at Disney. I highly recommend it if you are eating at Yak & Yeti.

You actually don't need fast passes, all you have to do is get there at 8:00 and they let you walk into pandora around 8:30, and that long line is normal because they have most of the q closed off, so that's why the line is quite long in the morning, and they will eventually open the whole q! Btw I know this because I have done this before! I've done it twice! Also, go to the bridge and wait in the large crew, and they make the what the wait time says really long.
with your polaroid camera jenn, dont wave it back and forth after youve took it, leave it in a dark place and to show up that way, ive learned that it goes blurry when you shake it! much love x

Super good Disney tip: go at night!
It was a 2 hour wait on the river journey we went just before it closed and it was a under 70 mins while in the queue it went fast and boom on the ride! But flight of passage is still 3 hours I never went on it. Also it’s cooler and the sun does not kill you and the tree looks amazing
Hey Trackers! I've had my Banshee since before Pandora opening and it is just something u get used too and finding your place. U need to put that clip more center lined and taut the leash cord more when holding and not holding and your Banshee will stay on alot easier.
It also depends on size of the shoulder and person holding it. Larger people tend not to have problems while smaller people, esp in shoulders, tend to have more issues.
To me, the interactions I have had with kids and adults is priceless and I once had a man from Dubai offer me $300 for mine when Disney was sold out and I was at Windtraders waiting for a friend to come off Flight.
it was also alot cheaper when I got mine ($49).

You adopted the same color Banshee as I did! I named him Pongu after the drink stand in Pandora. It means "party" in the Na'vi language.
I was at Animal Kingdom august 3rd and rode flight of passage during the late afternoon. I had to wait 3 hours for it. the ride was worth it and the queue was truly amazing how they had it set up. Disney did an amazing job with this part of the park. I now cant wait to see Toy Story land and Star Wars Land now.
