I've got bad news for Mr Lester: The ACLU generally does not accept criminal cases, or complaints about a person's attorney in a criminal case. We consider accepting criminal cases only in limited instances, such as, for example, when a person is being prosecuted for engaging in activity protected by the Constitution - such as participating in a political demonstration.

@@jimtalbott9535People tend to forget that there are 50 state constitutions, 50 legislatures that enact laws, unknown (by me) number of counties, towns, villages, cities that have ordinances, 50 state supreme courts and every single law/ordinance is legal up to the point that the U.S. supreme Court rules any law to be unconstitutional, that's what makes it difficult for the ACLU to give an opinion EDIT...state supreme courts can also overturn a law in their state..

I have no clue how things work at the ACLU, but I do work for another major nonprofit legal advocacy organization and we look into every case the Monday after we get it (or Tuesday in certain cases). The ACLU has undoubtedly told him no thanks and he just won't listen.

Here the thing about Special Appearance. That term means when a person appears in court, and the court has no jurisdiction over that person, (think of if a diplomat were to give testimony). You either appear by "Special Appearance", OR you appear under threat of or have already been arrested. You CANNOT claim both.
