Immediately I started thinking about thinking fast and slow. Great book. I just finished it for the second time recently . It also had me recalling a lot of think & grow rich. Reliving mistakes without learning from them is frustrating and I wonder why I did it for so long. now I try to remember intentionally to second-guess myself, that way I continue to think about it. Great video! Thank you

If you’re trying to surround yourself with positive things, what constitutes “positive” is also subjective depending on how you perceive it. Somebody else’s musical taste could sound negative to me and positive to them and vice versa. So that poses the question: could you change your perception of “negative” surroundings into positive ones without having to change the surroundings themselves?

stitzefilms yes because reality is fixed the only thing that changes is your perception and observation of it. You are merely an observer reality has been proven to change one something is there to observe it. Check out the light through a slit experiment it’s very interesting.... just some food for thought

If I can't trust my own mind then how am I supposed to make any decisions? To move forward? That's fucking terrifying

So to stop myself from making thinking errors, I must avoid confirmation bias.

At 2 minutes in I'm totally distracted by the classical music in the background because it's so familiar, I have a CD of that somewhere. ADHD makes it very easy for little stuff like that to blow our Executive function and have to re-start the video to focus on the words. Another curiosity that always grabs my mind when watching your videos are the illustrator (who is that guy, see that stuff everywhere, and now I'm hearing a different narrator) and other things that tell me these videos are multi-party creations and as such---Something I might could cobble together and get produced with ideas I have. See the ADHD brains are wide-open all the time. No I don't expect anyone else to get this. But it is how the folks like me tend to think and get lost in thought and fail to get around to putting down goals and plans...which is what I'm procrastinating around right now. Dangit.

drinking is a thinking error if you have no money. drugs is a thinking error if you have no money. sleeping is logical most of the time. working is logical.

I don't care for the seemingly defeatist attitude, of the writer. Finding out about cognitive bias is great, and all, but spreading a message that you can't trust yourself and others is not.

He’s right though. There have been many psych studies that prove our minds pretty much have no idea what is going on and make a lot of stuff up. Memories are not reality, even if it feels that way. There have even been studies where a psychologist can trick people into remembering a crime they never committed and really believing it happened.
