- Serious questions... how much of a difference do all my modifications make? Well... I did a back-to-back comparison between my 2020 250X with 195 hours and a whole bunch of "hop-ups" and my brand new, (nearly) stock 2021 Yz250x. Check it out!
PS... I just got done building up my 2021 with a Freight Train Package from @BeRAD. Stoked to share the results of that one soon!
Power Governor Mod: • YZ250x Governor/Power ...
One man's "clapped out" bike is another man's treasure. I'm gonna keep maintaining and riding my '17 YZ250X until the bottom end starts to disintegrate, then rebuild it and keep riding it until I'm too old to slide my leg over the fender!
I’m 63 and still have no problem sliding my leg over either one of my two WR 450’s fenders. I typically do three enduros and about a thousand kilometres of gnarly trail riding up here in north eastern Ontario Canada every season. Hope that’s inspirational. Cheers!

Meee toooo
the engineers at yamaha know their stuff. except for a few protection mods excelling on a bone stock bike is very satisfying and economical.
Yamaha engineers need to step it up with a case reed motor, adjustable power valve, hex head screws in the mag cover, 6 speed true wide ratio box. I could go on with several other changes.
2:05-2:09 you had me dying because thats so accurate 😂😂
No Governor mod post in description. Love this video 👌 I have a 2006 yz250 setup for woods and a 2020 yz250x setup for woods. Love them both.
Sorry about that! Here you go! ruclips.net/video/Le3chZSKXng/видео.html
Great 250x content! Keep it coming!
Thank you! Will do 👌
1:29 Please post the link of how to do the governor mod! great video!
Watched this again today, it's funny, some of the stuff I had on my 19 won't be making it onto my 21. Things like bar risers. You just start modding sometimes and it goes out of control haha. I haven't even put my smartcarb or RKtek head onto my 21 yet. Nor done the power valve mod. Going to ride it like this for awhile and slowly introduce stuff to better see the difference.
Hey Six, what exactly aeffect does this Governor mod have on the bike ?
@@chadrides914 supposed to let the power valve open sooner or easier if you will? I don’t know, people swear up and down by it but I barely noticed a difference. I need to keep my bike the same way for a good while before I try it again to see if I notice anything
@@Dropsix cool. Thanks for the info. 🤘
Just installed a ciscos racing Yz250 softer power valve spring when I did the power valve mod. I’d recommend it for smoother power even compared to the 250x spring with the pv mod
sweet video
Greetings. I’m about to pull the trigger on a 23 x. Did you have any transmission problems with any of your X’s?? Thanks!
I haven't had any issues no.
Love it
Thanks!!
I got a gnarly on my x and I hate it. Falls flat on its face at low to mid mid-range much prefer stock. Top end is atleast 10mph.faster Atleast
Arent they pretty much the same bike?
Spitting image. Just the mods
Yeah, it's all the mods on the 20
I bet Cody Webb could ride either one the same speed.
I'm sure he could. He's freaking amazing!
Selling the 2020?
No sir, spare bike / my wife will ride it a couple times a year
Same bike?
Yeah same bike pretty much, juat one is fully setup for me... the other way fresh off the showroom
What year did they make these fuel injected?
No electric start = no go for majority of folks. Yamaha really needs to add electric start to these
Run good gas/premix, do your top ends, clean your air filter and the YZ250 will be a 1 kick bike its whole life.
@@jt1573 no I’m referring to being in areas where kicking the bike is either a total pain in the ass or actually impossible. Steep hill sides, solid narrow rock channels etc - the electric start is not just a creature comfort for lazy people it’s actually mandatory and a total deal breaker at this point if bikes don’t have it. A bike in year 2021 without it is just plain dumb. Yamaha really should add it
@@thepatternforms859 agreed
Para mí no vale la pena este modelo trae menos compresión el motor ya me imagino en unos años mas como andará y mas sin arranque eléctrico por esta vez paso pero la bicicleta sigue siendo increíble
