    Yessssssss Chico's style of musical talent really took the Debarge family by storm. Switch (Bobby & Tommy), Debarge & Chico even El all showcased different styles which made Debarge a great musical family.

    Everyone thinks he’s Puerto Rican, and they say he’s a tenor, but he’s an amazing falsetto. Wikipedia needs to be edited.

      @deonnadyson 2 года назад +2

      Chico actually was on an interview one time and he actually sung an accapella part of Marvin's Gaye song... and it was actually explicit... it's the song where Marvin's talks about orally pleasing his wife... lol I will keep it clean on here... but he had the richness of Marvin...

    Excellent interview Halftime Chat! I can't believe you didn't know they were Black, they look like light skin Black men and women if you look at their facial features and hair textures plus they said they always identified as Black even with a white father. Besides, DeBarge is a French name not Spanish because their father was French and English. El real name is Eldra Patrick DeBarge and Chico real name is Johnathan Arthur DeBarge. Chico was different he had that Neo-Soul voice, and he does have a beautiful falsetto voice when he sings in falsetto. I think a lot people forget Bobby and Chico joined DeBarge when Bunny and El left the group, so Chico can definitely sing high.

    I love how you hear chico speak highly of his brothers and family....unlike the Jackson you can tell their is a respect and love there that has not been changed by the business. Janet came off very cold towards Michael in her Documentary. The Jacksons come off very detached from each other.

    Stylistically, there is something 'different' about Chico compared to the rest of them. He looks every bit as 'Debarge' as the rest, but in addition to that, he also had a more urban-y/hood aesthetic to him than the others.
