    An incredibly beautiful watch from one of the best and most affordable Swiss manufacturers. Universal Genève is just up there and this watch shows why. Thank you for this video, though you could have said a few (!) things about the watch, the micro rotor in particular. 👍👏👌❤😉.

    Very nice! I’m guessing that the case is solid gold, as gold plating or even rolled gold would not have stood up to the vigorous buffing?

    • @FrenchWatchCollector
      @FrenchWatchCollector  Год назад

      No it is plated. I used a finishing wheel so it is just to make it shine and not to polish it

    I totally enjoyed your videos on this type of movement! It is fascinating to see how tech problems were solved in the past. In my opinion, this micro rotor denies the laws of physics:) The larger is the oscillating weight diameter, the less total volume and mass is needed for producing a certain amount of energy compared to a smaller diameter weight. And they still decided to design this weird construction! But I like this kind of approach, to dare to design something nobody else has already tried...

    • @FrenchWatchCollector

      That is the beauty of watchmaking. Différent solution for the same problem

    Ohhh, you bring me a big pain in my heart and chills in my spine when you sand that crystal. BRUTAL. 800/1500-2000/3000-5000. Wet sanding paper. It is absolutely the best. And just wetsand it. Lesser job. More precis and you will just go so deep that you need to. Also its much faster. Wettex cloth bottom, crystal, pointer and middle finger in circles over the wetsand paper. Just little Polywatch after, or what ever you prefer,

    Nice work. Some points for improvement
    1. The case is seriously damaged near the caseback, and that shiuld be addressed
    2. It was nice if you could source the original criwn for the video
    3. If the crystal was original, you absolutely abused it and sanded out the Universal logo. It may be a 200$ crystal 😮

    • @FrenchWatchCollector
      @FrenchWatchCollector  Год назад

      I did not want to replate the case. I could not find the original crown and the logo was not there and the scratches were quite deep so I had to sand it quite a lot
