There is an article (available online) in Country Life dated July 22, 2021, which provides a concise history of the property, and shows it was listed for sale at that time. It contains photos of the same rooms, nicely furnished. Admiral Nelson never lived there; he had already died in the Battle of Trafalgar, and the house and lands were gifted to his brother in honor of his sacrifice. I don't know that I'd call this house decaying, rotting, or decrepit, as the roof hasn't fallen in and there are no trees growing out of the floor. It's good to see it will be maintained, and hopefully the little chapel will be restored. Interesting to see the lift and all of the cellars and storage rooms, as well as the servant's quarters and the roof.

I live near this and used to drive right by it regularly, and the chapel on the side road.
Would have been a good time to tie in the infamous Longford estate which sits all around this, they have their own castle that even locals know nothing about.

THIS is SOME EXPLORATION! IN tje beginingbog sounded like an echonornpeoplentalkingnin tje background. Later in time inwondermif this housed groups of children or People? Just kept feeling like.it.was going to be done.over.for a purpose but.they quit? . But at some point I someone.tried a large business and could not still afford it? A place like this is lovely for sure to own but some expensive to keep up. But the richest had know problems but usually able to liventje best life.with.the.imperial jobs or leadership positions they .usually held in business
. Then after. they struggle to.keep.it going
Especially in this day. It is hard to keep something this large. Unless you are inventive and able to.draw people to you with money to.fund the help and help for something in retutn, like room and board. Work for room and board etc. Itbtakes many hands and some deep.pockets lol.
I was afraid when you were exploring the lower area where there had Ben a well. Rhstbyounwoupdbgetnlostnorbavdooebwouldbshut. Now that would give me a fright. Can you imagine a door shutting and you could not open it! Yikes! There were many heavy doors. I do not know why. But had this odd feeling of spirits in this home,? It must be the owner I taken it and it is being watched over in that way I take it? It seems odd to.them to.have people invade, as they could think. Their home and tjeh msy see it furnished as tjey had it? This was a great mansion for sure. Thank you gormshsring!

Here in the states. Gorgeous! Seems to be in good shape too. So sad it was abandoned, but that’s what happened to a lot of old estates over there. Thankful someone is saving it but I hope not for a hotel or something. But I guess better that than leaving it to rot. Loved the wallpaper and the rooms were bright and light filled. Thanks for respecting this house and thanks for sharing.

Yeah ... Horatio Nelson never lived there. His older brother, William (who was a putz, actually) lived there. Horatio's family was nasty to Emma,Lady Hamilton (the love of Horatio's life and the mother of his daughter) after he died ... regardless of the fact that she had supported them and paid to educate their children while Nelson was off being famous in the Navy. William and his bunch rode the coattails of Horatio's fame and elevated themselves and threw her under the bus.

We love your channel over the pond - to see historical estates and the detail of the craftsmanship is just amazing. You really appreciate the level of engineering and artistry hundreds of years ago. The room where the Italian artist painted was amazing. Good job - this is the only time where the public will be able to see such properties.
