This was a very good effort at an *incredibly* difficult song to cover. I think you made a sensible choice to sing the verses through the first half on the drum line rather on the heavily syncopated melody line as Floor does. I don't even want to think about how much time she must have spent practicing that stutter stepping and the register leaps she makes on certain notes to accentuate it.
A lot of people don't realize this but so true.
i would actually want to know how long she practiced it haha

I truly think this is one of those songs for singers/vocal enthusiasts to listen to and admire because not only does it show floors talent as a singer it is a deceptively difficult song to sing correctly but like you said the amount of time and practice to get it right must've been insane

Exceptionally well done! "Shoemaker" has been one of my favorites since the very day Nightwish released it. I have listened to the Nightwish version hundreds of times including live at the Nightwish concert in Wembley 2022 with my daughter (who's daughter 8yrs is also a Nightwish fan). I have listened to your version tens of times and will continue to do so. I never thought anyone would be able to make an acceptable cover, but your version is far beyond acceptable. Beautiful and very talented. I am currently trying to convince my wife (Nightwish fan as well) to make a "Sleeping sun" cover, but I will never dare to ask her to take on "Shoemaker".

My very first thought even before she started singing: oh wow, these guys are quite ambitious (as Shoemaker doesn't seem an easy song to sing, ever for Floor herself, she allegedly had to try a few times before hitting "that" perfect spot
