Hey everyone, this is my original reaction to seeing Nightwish live for the first time which I recorded back in December. It was previously Patreon-only, but I decided to open it up to everyone. :) A quick heads up - there were some issues with the recording and it's missing my comments at the end of the video. For those who didn't see, I've definitely watched more Nightwish live since this was originally recorded back in December! I livestreamed my first viewing of the entire Wacken 2013 concert if you want to see my reaction to the whole thing. @@MattFarkas 3 songs in ? brah you still have not seen anything yet, from this Amazing concert :Ghost River,Bless The Child,Romantacide, basically every song is GOLD and perfection from the musicianship to the vocals,lighting,audio etc. then there's Floor's other vocal surprise on "Yours Is An Empty Hope" -Vehicle Of Spirit.Live at Wembley (2015) and from the current release 2020 Human//Nature : Nightwish - How's The Heart Acoustic (Planet Rock acoustic session) cheers
Wacken 2013 is iconic with Nightwish, for a reason.
This concert is not the last of that world tour, but quite close to the end.
Floor has been with the band, for 10 or 11 months, at this point, after jumping in for the former vocalist, in the middle of the US-leg of the tour.
She had fit into the band, like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle, that had been found again. Musically, as well as on the personal level.
None of the songs have been written for her, but Wacken turned out be so good. Almost perfect.
By the way: Floor and Troy (pipes, whistles and diverse string istruments) knew at this point, that they would become full band members, but it wasn't official at this point.
So, this was somehow the birth of that incarnation of Nightwish.
I watched the full concert a few weeks after this was filmed (livestreamed on here) and was blown away! Definitely one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
@@MattFarkas I've made this comparison before and I realize it might not be that way for everyone, tastes differ after all, but I'm of the opinion that Nightwish @ Wacken 2013 can be considered by lovers of symphonic metal as our Woodstock or Queen @ Live Aid. A legendary performance where all the pieces fell into place, everything was just right, both musically and the whole vibe of it. Certainly cemented Floor's position as the absolute top tier in metal vocalists for those who weren't too familiar with her before she joined Nightwish. And yes, Marko is no slouch either, he's the frontman of his own band as well, called Tarot, in which his brother plays guitar.
Regarding the size of the crowd: that's 82.000 people and change, and she has them eating from the palm of her hand.
This are the best live singer ,best live band.
Here's a challenge for you how about reacting to the least voted for Nightwish song I bet you that it will be still awesome.
There are no bad songs from them just personal favourites. Great reaction.

You have no idea how good they can be live. There is soooo much to listen to. If you do more, you will be inundated by the Nightwish army. If you have not heard it yet, you have to listen to The Greatest Show on Earth ( Tempere version)
I watched the whole concert in a livestream on here! So I have some idea of how good they are. 😂 This is a video that I originally posted on my Patreon back in December and just decided to open it up to the public. I've done a few other Nightwish reactions and have met the army in force!
I'm looking for more Nightwish to react to though, so I'll keep The Greatest Show on Earth in mind! Thanks for the comment!
@@MattFarkas I don't know if you've seen The Poet and the Pendulum, but that one is a 'must see' too. Love Ghost Score, The Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth are called the Big Three, not only for their length (10, 14 and 21 minutes), but also for their composition. The Poet and the Pendulum is very very personal to Tuomas, about the aftermath of the break with Tarja. All three are fan favorites.

I'd like to challenge you to a different perspective of this band, seen as you are already invaded by the (self entitled) "Nightwish army", who's fan base is totally infatuated by their current singer, that they tend to forget that Nightwish had 2 other amazing lead singers.
So, here's my challenge.
Instead falling into that typical mistake of listening only to this Waken Live 2013, why don't you travel back in time and upload their earlier live performances, back to their 2001 live DVD "From Wishes to Eternity".
There you will find the true Nightwish "symphonic power metal" era.
As a suggestion, I'd recommend "Stargazer", which is part of their 1998 album called "Oceanborn".
