- When you think you know every upgrade possible for your car and then a company throws a curveball at you. Well, that is exactly what happened to me recently. Maybe I am just late to the game but when I found out you can retrofit F80/F82 brakes onto my basic BMW 335i, I was shocked. Brake upgrades have to be one of the most underrated upgrades you can do to your BMW, yet they can really enhance the driving experience and keep you safe! In today's video I will share what I learned about the Big Brake Kit retrofit and show you how easy you can replicate what I did with your build. This works for pretty much every e8X or E9X BMW model.

For anyone interested in this brake installation READ THIS!
IMO its simply not worth the headache trying to mount 370mm in the rear. Based on the research ive done youd be better off just mounting 345mm e60 discs with eccentric bushings instead of 370mm discs its a direct bolt on and will work great! If youre dead set on mounting 370mm rotors then: 1. Im pretty sure you either have to do some serious hub carrier grinding, and youve gotta have a custom bracket set (not from SLG, youd have to fabricate your own) 2. The second option is to swap the hubs from a 135i or the knuckles from an m3, both of which are still not great options as im almost sure the handbrake would be mouth-functioning, hard to install, and or simply just not working with the f8x rotors. Ive seen it done but i have yet to receive any info about the specs. So dont quote me. Im going with the 345mm e60 route, and 370mm rotors in the front (direct bolt on). Im also going to just order a used pair of calipers off ebay then sandblast and re-powder coat them, its the cheapest option. If you really want to go budget you can buy used discs and pads off eBay which is also a great option. But id recommend buying new brake lines regardless of any scenario and definitely dont recommend buying a brand new set of calipers, its simply just too expensive.
So to sum things up, (Front)
-(cheapest) if you want to go the 340mm front disk route (8mm smaller than stock) its a direct bolt on to the car. All u need is 340mm calipers, and 340mm disks.
-if you want to mount 370 in the front all you need to do make sure you buy the 370/380mm Caliper set (its direct bolt on)
-(most expensive) if you want to go the 380 in the front route you will need the brackets from SLG and a set of 370/380mm calipers
For the rear:
If you want to go the 345mm e60 route you will need eccentric bushings, calipers, and rotors.
If you want to go the 370 route youll need to do some research, but hopefully youll have luck on your side!

awesome , appreciate that info
I have the same setup on my F30 335i with upgraded SS brake lines. I ended up getting rid of the stock blue and powder-coated them red.
This unboxing lit 🔥.. I like when Chris says queue the " this is awesome" music🎶.. epic🍻
I’ve been waiting for this!!!! Sickkkk🔥
Did the dustshield not fit? What was the issue of you don't mind explaining. Thank you
I put those with 300mm disc to my e91 lci no brackets needed
same 4 piston just get 6 if u really want to upgrade
Looks great🔥
Which bracket was used to fit the 370/380 mm rotor the M sport bracket?
I have a 650i gran coupe and I’m thinking about upgrading to 6 piston front and 4 piston rear but was told that they would be a little noisy is that true? Please let me know thanks, My name is Drew
Did you do the rears yet
Jess! very beautiful.
Nice car. Minus those wheels. They look like 💩
Research goes a long way. There’s a plethora of information on the forums that would’ve helped you during your brake conversion ie eccentric bushings to get the rear calipers to sit on the hub properly (for less than $100) as well as an e9x m3 master cylinder that is required to prevent a spongy brake pedals after the rear calipers installed. Research research research
Bro, you know this cat. He’s a guy that likes to show off his build, when reality all he does is lift up his pen for the checkbook.
The real MVP is it mechanics that put up with him bouncing around with the camera..
Will those wheels accept bmw center caps? That small detail would make it next level! Sick build
What can I say? Simply can’t go wrong with orange. Looks great with the blue. Been eyeballing a big brake kit for my e46 myself & this isn’t helping my restraint. 😅
Sorry bro can’t do orange and blue. It’s Broncos colors. At the San Diego and a casual Chargers fan. I just can’t have it lol.
Hey bro just some constructive criticism, I've been watching your videos for a while now, and being here for a while, I feel like I've seen this channel start to plateau and stagnate. I just feel at this point the Instagram style "look at this, look at me" videos are growing old. And although your excitement is real, I feel like we are missing the 'it' factor that captured us BMW fans and owners to this channel in the first place. The passion seems to be fizzling out, weather you or us (your viewers) realize it. I think it would be best to take a step back and become more humble. I think what captured us to your channel was that, for the most part, everything you did to your e93 was something we could do ourselves. Most of us only have our driveways to work with, not a multi million dollar shop to do the dirty work(literally). The M5 is out of our price range, the e90 has a budget that is greater then most of our lifetime savings, the E46 M3's are getting more and more expensive by the day and E30's are too rare and daunting for us amateur enthusiasts. Basically what I'm saying is that there is little for us normal folk with your current lineup. Maybe for your next BMW, get something more affordable. Or more common like a f30 328i, or a offroad X5 build. Start with something that needs some work and really focus on the diy! Remember this is your channel and you should be the star. Not the guys at PSI. Instead of the M5 I was really hoping you'd get a F10 550i. It's something that's more affordable to us. Stick to simple bolt ons and retrofits, with detailed DIY vids to guide us with our own projects. I'm glad you're in a position in life where you can afford to do these builds, but ironically your financial ability to do these builds is what is putting a rift between you and us. Teach us how to upgrade our sound, touch up our paint with BMW paint stick, restore our headlights, and throw on some bolt on mods. Heck, a diesel build would be cool because it's different. Separate your self from the pack. M539's channel has exploded in no time. Meanwhile your current videos struggle to get the views and response they once easily achieved. Just my .02¢ Because I care and would like to see you do better.
You can buy a m3 e90/92 hub carrier, the m3/m4 setup (rotors and calipers) will fit plug and play.
There is another option too, e60 550i rotors + m3/m4 calipers, but you need an adapter for that.
The stickers on the tyres are stressing me out 😂 brakes look great man
*tires
@@mrpsd590 in English English they're tyres, douche
lol that fitment is really tight, what if you need to put weights on the hub for balancing?
Can we have a libk from where can buy that adaptor? Plese?
Bruh where i can get M brakes for a F15 X5 35i ?
why the f did u leave the tire stickers on lol
Important : The bigger brakes have to be coded in via INPA so the Abs and DSC work flawlessly

After you were on the point of "puking" and you showed the car backing up I thought you started farting as well
It's wild seeing that parking lot not littered with Adams cars everywhere
Just bought myself a low mileage 07 335i coupe at only 58000km or think its 36039 miles, I'm thinking about doing all the gaskets before I do full bolt on, but your videos have been very informative for me and have showen me what I should do, thanks!
Man..do your research🤦♂️ and take those stickers off your tyres😁
They look great. I have the regular 4 piston brembo 340 mm caliper on my e90. They are straight bolt on. And it looks great. For anyone trying to do 340 instead of 380.
I did 370mm rotors up front. Direct swap with f80 calipers.
Did you have to code anything?
I'm swaping my e81 130i fronts for the 4 Piston f20 340mm brakes. Something about the ABS or brake pressure needs coding, right?
I didn't do any coding. They are a direct swap. They fit just like the original one. At least on the e90. Not sure of e81/82
@@justinrobert6573 which adapter bracket did you use to fit the 370/380 mm rotor?
What are you using in the rear?
Yoooo isn't that Puerto rican mechanic from samcrac

Nice i have the same set up on my f30 with the ecs braided lines
the color of that e36 in the back is beautiful
Hi
I just bought rear calipers blue from a 2016 m3
They say p244
Can I use 2016 f80/m3 rear calipers on my
2018 340
I 19inch rims.
The f80 M3 calipers had 370mm rotors in the rear original with the m3 car.
The stamp says p244 I’ve seen p240 on other research with m performance package
The 44 is a bigger piston same size as the m performance
Can I use the 345mm rotor on the p244 blue caliper
I know they originally came with the M3 and 370 rotors
My big question is
Can I use the calipers I bought and just use the 345mm rotors
I like this :)
Hello. I'm curious on what solution you had for your rear brake calipers and rotors after finding out it wouldn't fit. If so, I'd like to know since I also have an LCI Msport 6mt rwd 335i and have been looking around for awhile.
SLG brackets and E9X M3 knuckles
@@VehicleVirals I really appreciate the quick response! Can I keep the stock tie rods or am I required to change them to an aftermarket solution?
Ive been in a wild goose chase trying to figure out answers.
@@pierre4046 I didn't change the tie rods.
@@VehicleVirals Alright, sounds good. Thanks a lot for the info, you’ve inspired me to do this conversion kit thanks to you and your sick E90!
Bro fuck yeah your content always 🔥🔥
I did this to a 2011 Bmw E90 335i and I did the fronts with no adapters or anything it bolts right on even the brake lines work with it
Definitely won’t be drag racing this week be either. Should have kept the back brakes stop for 15” setup in rear.
Been waiting for this.... I need this pham appreciate the help 🙏
I got you!
I’m sitting in the lobby @psi watching your videos/vlogs..
LOWER PROFILE TIRES PLEASE !
Right there at 9:03, did you say you are spanish? Where are you from?
I did not find the rear break video update, have you made it yet?
Nice info you have here.
Definitely will be a safer ride now that you can stop all those horses from running away with you. Lol. A great "Orange" colored video with tips for finding the right sizes and fitment for your setup. Thanks Cristian for another wonderful video and stay safe Brother! Best wishes and Peace out!
dear lord thats a wicked upgrade!!! Want it! maybe upgrade the master break cylinder?
I like them they're TRUMP color, I think I will take mine out and paint them orange too!
Nice video thanks. A bit sad you did not make a video on how to get those wide tires to not rub. How is the suspension setting now? As stiff as it can be? :-)
Fitment is perfect😍 the way those rims clear that big brembo style brake kit👀
I put the whole front hub/knuckle assembly from an f82 on my e92
I click your video, i like your video, i watch your video. 🤙
realistically....who cares abt the brake shield, weight reduction baby

DOES NOT FIT 2013 335IS CONV
Them breaks look great. Hope you can finish the rear ones soon. Question I have. Why you didn’t go with the 6 and 4 pistons calipers out of the E82 135i M Sport. I think they are the same as the E9X M3s. Just curious!!
They don't preform as well as this option.
e9x M3 does not use the same brakes as the six piston 135i. e9x M3 use a sliding caliper design.
@@VehicleVirals Ok. I recently replaced my pads and rotors with EBC Red Stuff and Slotted rotors, and the difference is huge.
@@ModMINI Thanks for your clarification.
The colors look great!
Intro song?
Like I dont understand who dislikes these video's. These videos are very informative an interesting, I mean it's proof you don't have to buy a Super expensive car if you just choose to work with what you have..... an in away it makes people wanna go out buy 335i's just so they can have something unique. So yall come here watch an dislike why? Just watch something else then an let this brother do he's thing for all the interested people. The guy is happy let him be. Hell I only want a 335i coz of all he's videos. KEEP DOING YOUR THING VEHICLE VIRALS.

@@VehicleVirals I'm saving up to buy a 335i an I wanna make mine as vicious an menacing as yours bro just you wait.
What calipers did you use
That car of yours is sweet. When's the next raffle ? 😂😁👍
What car you want me to give away?
@@VehicleVirals I'll take any hand-me-down you have 👍😁😂👉❤️BMW
O-range two syllables my guy
Appreciate you!
How big are the rotors? And those are 18inch wheels right?
380mm rotors. Yeah 18s
Loving this bro ‼️‼️
Ftlb lbft its order doesn’t matter as the resultant force is the same due to the nature of multiplication
Been looking to buy an E92 n54 but ur making me want a E90 😂
Get an E90. So much better to have useable back seats
Also lighter than e92
@@MrLayne-nj9yb had no idea thanks 💯💯
Ouuhh I need to see the rear upgrade.
Looks awesome bro! Hey what do you do for a living besides RUclips?
Only RUclips.
I have the MPBBK on my F30. They're noisy. The ticking sound reflecting back to me when I pass wall or other cars is annoying. I'd love to swap them for F80 rotors. I find yes and no answers all over the web.
I might try this ... but the camera work makes me nauseous
Is the M logo backwards on the driver side?
I feel better now that you are addressing the brakes. The new ones look great!
Seen these fit a e46 m3 as well
Here’s a monster upgrade…buy M5 6 pot calipers and buy M2 competition 400x36mm discs and pads. Get adapters made for calipers. You know have monster brakes for the bmw f30/31. Must already have the 370 brakes with the larger brake master cylinder. Cost - around £1.5-2k
Hi, i have a bmw 135i and i would like to do the same retrofit, Do you have any news of the brackets of the rear ?
Please measure a 60-0 after everything is done.
The brakes look great! Also why no BMW hubcabs for the wheels? I have aftermarket wheels and the hubcaps they came with were very odd and I couldn't find any BMW hubcaps of that size. I went on Etsy and had someone make me custom hubcaps, only cost me 20 and it looks a little better now, I'd recommend doing the same if that's the issue or if you're looking to do that
Hey man, quick question your car isn't 700hp but is the 700hp on the high end or on the low end. Just curious as most of these high horsepower "cheap/affordable" builds have high horsepower on the high end
Looks so good
Some how you always manage to post content for e9x that would seem impossible to do because of your videos I was able to see a different route to mod my e92 👍
You for sure managed to get it on an e92 coupe? How’d you do it?
I have the same brakes but mine bolted right up without any brackets in the front unless they're a smaller calipers but they look the same 🤔
I don’t know about affordable but that’s definitely the route I’d take too
There are also affordable options that are bolt on, no bracket needed.
Research. E 90 post forums and Spool Street just to name a couple. The amount of knowledge on there is mind blowing.
Hey WorldPac, LOL
I have a 335is, will my factory 19s work with this set up? Any mods for the sensors too?
Sheeeesh I know what else I'll be ordering
You need to reprogram the car for the brake upgrade, plenty of DIYs online. Going to feel much better afterwards....
why don´t you pull the tire stickers?
Could you put these brakes on a E85 Z4
I wanna pay someone to do this for me, I'm not jacking my car up lol
love the eel painted on the wall of the shop
Love it, need to do brakes on my 335xi right away and was thinking of upgrading the calipers and lines as well. Going to do this.
Never did a video on the rear brakes?
Beautiful car!
looking to do this with 128i e82, what size rotors would i use? the website for the bracket says to us 380 mm rotors
I used 380mm front
@@VehicleVirals word thanks, would I have to get all new brake lines or can I just use the ones from my stock 128? If so which ones from which model would be compatible? Thanks again
Anyone: sorry but the callipers may not fit on your car
Christian: go big or go home
Hahahaa i love you content bro
Does the f80/82 calipers same as f30 m performance calipers? Thank you!
Broo🔥🔥🤙🏽🤙🏽
This video was very helpful... Been eyeing this kit and trying to fit on my E91. Tempting, very tempting...
What if adapter brackets fail
Have you done the rear calipers yet? Still cant find a something that helps mount onto e9x rear bracket
Hey man, sweet ride! I've been wanting to do the same thing to my F30 335xi. What size wheels do you have? Wondering if the stock F30 M group 18" wheels and E46 M3 18" wheels (I have a set of both) will clear those large calipers? Thanks!
Damn those look great!!
nice vid bro
All for an affordable 2500 😭
