I know I really wanted to see some of the newer riffs since they really got heavier after layne. Stuff like hollow, phantom limb, acid bubble, atleast he put stone though.
He is absurdly underrated and doesn't get half of the credit he deserves as a guitarist and songwriter. He is absolutely brilliant and just an awesome guy.
Evil Koala he made Alice In Chains what it was, you cant tell me that when you hear these riffs you don’t hear Layne singing his heart out, just as when you hear Layne singing you cant help but hear Jerry playing
“Died” may be one of the best songs from Alice’s catalog of songs. Amazing riffs, tone, tight drums, the perfect amount of underlining bass and Layne’s haunting vocals that come from a shell of his former body.

Cam Dero dark doesn’t necessarily mean heavy, even while Alice In Chains was heavy, what Layne sung about was just sad and darker than what most bands sung about back then
Layne only wrote 3 songs on guitar. Angry Chair, Hate To Feel, and Head Creeps. All super sick but Jerry wrote Junkhead which is one of the filthiest riffs ever written.
I was hoping to see Junkman in there, but I love me some Chains riffs so it's all good. How about some really technical stuff like... Dreamtheater? Or a doom band like The Sword (Frost Giants Daughter has such a sick riff).
FJP 124 basically every song from the tomorrow ep acid rain blind stoned and frogstomp that was their only good album well slave no association freak lie to me learn to hate where good but the rest of the album was shit
@@DukeofNukem98 I think you mean Black gives way to Blue? I can absolutely agree it was a good album......but from that album forward I can't think of them as AiC. In fact my favorite song on the album you're referring to is the final song Black gives way to Blue which was basically a goodbye to Layne from Jerry. I don't know....I have always felt that if a band loses such a distinct member like Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, John Bonham etc. that it's better for that band to quit while they're ahead under that current name. If I listen to any of the new AiC albums I think "this is alright....but I wish they changed the band name." It's just not the same band, and it never will be. You ever listen to Jerry Cantrells solo albums?
@@supremelordoftheuniverse5449 I am inclined to disagree with you. The riffs were lacking, there were almost no guitar solos, it was the first time Layne had really written any full length songs by himself, and his drug use had completely turned him into a mindless drone. You can definitely tell a huge difference between Dirt and Tripod going from Jerry's writing to Layne's writing, and the mixing was terrible. It felt like there was no flow to the album at all. For me I'll always love Facelift as a whole, but when Dirt dropped I remember hearing the first single from it on the radio, Would.....I was only 6 when it came out, but I had a brother in his teens that always let me listen to his albums, but before he got that album he was driving me to Toys r' Us and Would came on. I instantly fell in love with that song, and nothing they've done since that album has struck me quite like that album or that exact moment when I first heard Would.
@@stewartmathieson8942 honestly Korn was probably better than Alice in Chains. I greatly prefer Alice in Chains when listening to the albums but Korn was just really good.
Hey man I know you get a shit ton of requests, and you absolutely slay every single one of these you do. Could I request some Dethklok riffs? I wouldn't even mind if it's just 5 riffs
Fuck Yeah! Alice in Chains is one of my favorite bands of all time. This is my favorite list of yours partially cause there isn't a single damn song that I disagree with being on the list.
Hello I'm back from my special training in Tibet. My hands have evolved and I think that in a certain time I would have spider-hands like you if I persevere. Thank you for all your vidéos !
Hey Vermilion! There is a band I discovered recently and it’s a really old grunge band that played with Kurt Cobain once before he was even famous. They are called TAD. They are really good and I wanna see you make a video like this about them.
Unfortunately when you have a riff god guitarist like Jerry Cantrell 10 riffs just doesn’t cut it, would love a part 2 at some point 🤘
I know I really wanted to see some of the newer riffs since they really got heavier after layne. Stuff like hollow, phantom limb, acid bubble, atleast he put stone though.
Sectric Add in a few from Rainier Fog and the list just keep growing.
This list needs Sludge Factory and I know somethin bout you
☮️💜🤙
He is absurdly underrated and doesn't get half of the credit he deserves as a guitarist and songwriter.

Layne lived, died, and continues on a legend. There will never be another person like him.
Evil Koala he made Alice In Chains what it was, you cant tell me that when you hear these riffs you don’t hear Layne singing his heart out, just as when you hear Layne singing you cant help but hear Jerry playing
Evil Koala no one listens to Alice In Chains anymore because quiet frankly they suck now layne Staley was what made the band good
Chris Cornell ?
Bill Clinton they don’t suck, they just don’t have a top tier vocalist anymore. Big difference...
Warren Pellacani they should change their names the band isn’t Alice In Chains without layne
“Died” may be one of the best songs from Alice’s catalog of songs. Amazing riffs, tone, tight drums, the perfect amount of underlining bass and Layne’s haunting vocals that come from a shell of his former body.

You could have picked any ten songs from 90s AiC and you would still get a thumbs up.
Not just 90s, the entire discography is epic.
Dopamine yeah his number one choice is off the 2013 album

Devil Lungsman i did say most, not all
you do know that with these guys, part 2 is inevitable, right?
+1
Finally someone includes what the hell have i riff. Its one of their best riffs.
What the hell have I is one of the best riffs ever, shit is godly, I could listen to it forever

Layne Starr right pewdiepie

Jerry Cantrell and Kirk Windstein are both two of the best riff writers of any genre who never got enough credit imo.
I agree. Especially Kirk's writing in Down. My favorite riff of his still has to be Planets Collide just because how simple and sludgy it is. Amazing
Crowbar is so underrated Kirk is a beast.
Ten Stone Temple Pilots riffs
Ten Soundgarden riffs
never clicked soooo fast AIC my fav band
The fingers .l. the signal on "Them bones"... jaj! good video, like.
There doesn't need to be top 10, every Alice In Chains riff is amazing🤘🤘🤘
