THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
Fantastic sci-fi movie!
Starring Kirk Douglas
Thank you The Film Detective for uploading this fantastic Sci-Fi Horror movie, I appreciate it!
I turned 13 in 1959😊
Small world Mike. I turned 13 in 46’ as well. Ah we had the best of child hoods in the 50’s..👵🇦🇺🇺🇸
Damn hilarious those special effects and that comment- “happy as a sockeye salmon swimming upstream.”
When you consider that they are swimming to their deaths, how happy can they b ?
I couldn't stop laughing watch this. It's like fighting a modern war with chariots and swords. Or as Spock once said "bear skins and stone knives".
Thanks!
We have a space station and a rocket...but we haven't orbitted the moon yet?
Patch that screen....good
Error in transcript about 2:15. He's saying "Vernier engines" not "burn the engines". How can you "preset the burn the engines"? Doesn't even make sense. Where did this transcript come from?
When 🚀 was 🌌
Haha Nice one, Nuthin wrong with this movie! It displays most of the traits I happily expected it to have, like cool miniature space/ships/tech scenes (lookin like straight out of the old space books), a 50's style cut'n'paste storyline, with some good tech talk actually, takes itself wonderfully seriously! (Bit clunky attempt to inject a social twist via love-triangle tho. Like 'When Worlds Collide'), -but heck, it even had a star-scene opening shot haha. Throw in a nagging wife, who sees the light with a well placed paragraph from hubby, soon has her acknowledging his wisdom, with profuse thanks, and is happy.
Ende. 😁
Storm in a tea cup about nothing at all
Guys, please...PRETTY please...turn-up the audio. Even at max volume with headphones, it was barely loud enough.
So the commander has an extra girlfriend? What a plot.
