- Throat feeling sore and dry? Feeling like you have something stuck in your throat? Voice changing?
Many people overlook the throat when it comes to symptoms, but hormonal changes and other factors can affect the throat in several ways. This week, I talk about what can cause a dry or sore throat, trouble swallowing, and more during perimenopause and menopause.
Are you experiencing any throat symptoms? Let me know in the comments.

Yes ! I get the flemmy type throat where I always feel like I am clearing my throat. And I got two sinus infections this past winter and never got those in the past. So crazy
Oh my goodness, I have to be careful not to choke sometimes! My food just doesn't go down the same as it used to. Also.. this burning mouth symptom is annoying. Tongue and mostly lips, the sensation is as though I got pepper juice on my lips and tongue.
Hi

I have a friend who has a metallic taste in her mouth. She also has the burning sensation on her tongue and lips noted below. Does anyone else have a metallic taste? She has been to the doctor and all seems ok.
Thanks so much for all your wonderful information! :)
Yes! I do.
Yes I have had that. Dentist says all ok. Doctor says all ok . Another dumb menopause symptom
I had the metallic taste, felt like I was licking a battery 🫨I was in my late 30's when it first happened, continued until my mid 40's...I was anemic more off than on for those no of years...no periods nw,infact my iron level is 28 😵too much...no more metallic taste...thank goodness...
I don't have a metallic taste, but my lips burn and there is nothing that helps
These are also very similar symptoms to Acid Reflux/GERD and even LPR/Silent reflux. Which I am currently healing from. I am also going through the perimenopause and dry mouth is also an issue at night. Alkaline foods helped heal the digestive tract and my symptoms have really improved, but will also help with the perimenpause too. My advice after several months of healing and researching, do not take PPI's as that is what a GP will prescribe. They are very badly informed on both subjects - the digestion and women's health. But PPI's (omerprazole etc..) will make it worse not better.
Hi Jennifer
There can be lots of different causes of this including acid reflux/GERD (I posted a vlog on this last year).
I'm mentioning PPIs in a forthcoming vlog as well!
