It is a good idea to use some grease to seal the filter edges to the airbox. At 4:14 there are some strange dark spots on the foam that should be clean.
Not a bad idea (they do make the rim grease) but I stopped doing that in the 90’s. Any dirt on the inside of my filter is from post-removal handling. Every filter and air boot is inspected every time with a white paper towel.
