    Only a zealot would blame children for not fighting a threat that they had no means to.
    I do like the Ministorum preacher, though; he's not a raving madman like so many others we see in the wider lore; he tries to understand her and attempts to assuage that the loss of the war isn't her fault.

      There is a lot more like him but it is just that they prefer showing only the raving madman ones the most because it provides more entertainment. A lot of the good aspects of the Imperium of Man is not shown often because it feels too "nice" in the image of a "Grim Dark Future". There are even planets that are normal and I mean just normal that are never shown that manage to completely avoid all this grim darkness but are not shown and mentioned very few just because "Not grim dark enough"

      @MrNuclearturtle 8 месяцев назад +133

      Yea, the people spouting warhammer portrayals aren’t grim dark enough are just into misery porn at that point. Point of a setting like this is that despite the dread, despite the hopeless, the courage and indomitable spirit of humans fights on, it’s to see what is capable of human kind in the worst scenario possible. Stories with sad endings in warhammer are great in of themselves, normally there’s a moral or irony to the tale ie genestealer cult story, but every story being just miserable with no reprieve gets really boring and uninteresting

      THIS RIGHT HERE! The biggest reason I prefer Warhammer Fantasy over 40k so much, despite being a huge sci-fi lover, is that Fantasy does Grimdark far better than 40k.
      In Fantasy, the world is just as dangerous & unforgiving as the galaxy in 40k is. The bad guys like Chaos are constantly causing death & destruction, while the “good guys” like the Empire of Man are fighting tooth & nail just to survive in this dangerous world.
      Yet unlike with 40k, there are just as many good things in Fantasy as there are bad things. The Empire of Man, despite the serious poverty & corruption, is constantly growing & developing as a nation with innovative breakthroughs in technology & magic happening regularly. Tilea, despite its many corrupt city-states constantly feuding with each other & scheming against themselves, is the faction that embraces the ideals of democracy & individual freedom the most out of any other faction.
      This is what 40k is missing. It needs more good to balance out the bad. Hopefully with the return of the two loyalist primarchs Guilliman & Lion, we’ll start to see some improvements with the Imperium & maybe even some of the other factions.

    • @MrNuclearturtle
      @MrNuclearturtle 8 месяцев назад +25

      @@ericaquintana1206 actually first I've heard of the term, but there is definantly a schism between fans on what the tone should be. Balance is needed in that representation

      yeah people are being too harsh to her and to the space marine not understanding the situation they are in
      like both the battle sister and the space marine would have reacted differently if it was not "zombies" but disorganized* guardsmen (not controlled)
      like the sister of battle or SOB for sort would probably try to find out more about the situation they are in and see what she can do even do spiritual moral boost if it is needed
      like if SOB find out that does imperial guardsmen have lost contact with command after a battle with necrons and the only one they have been able to contact is a Valkyrie*(imperial LOYAL one )
      that is still flying but not in the current "sector" they are in but still in contact range she probably would try rally the guardsmen and try to do as much they can.
      -------------------
      and the space marine if he was meeting a imperial guardsman after he crash he would probably say the same he do now expect saying emperor protect if that guardsman is doing that thing with his hand i forgot what it is called but the space marine would if informed that they need to move "Xenos" controlled guardsmen is moving they current position and the guardsmen is only having a few men (like say 4 squads of imperial guards)
      the space marine is probably going acknowledge the situation but inform the guardsman that he need to do some last rites on his fallen brothers and after that they can move but if as he says that he heard gunshots and the guardsman run out of the "ship" to assist his fellow guardsmen in repealing the "zombie" attack he probably would try to do his work as fast as he can due to the guardsmen is going to need his help
      of course am just writing is based on what i have seen and read comments about the warhammer 40k lore so both the SOB and the space marine may have reacted differently then what i wrote

    Guardsman giving sound tactical advice just to be ignored by a blinded zealot who’d rather stick to the tactic of “stand in a line” leading to the entire force being wiped out?
    Sounds like just another day in the imperium of man. It’s a shame. If guardsman NCOs were given command the battle would have probably gone a lot better. Though admittedly fighting necrons generally is just a bad day for anyone.

    • @WizzPlaysAndMore

      Even with proper tactics, fighting necrons is always a defeat of some degree, never a victory in the sense that they will just reassemble themselves later and come even more deadly than before. For necrons a battle lost is a best a minor inconvenience or just a pair of units to scrap.

    This actually kinda interesting, to show someone who believes whole heartedly in the Emperor and having to face the realization that just belief and never giving up doesn't suddenly make you win. And in her despair she blames what essentially amounts to children not fighting giants when looking at the preacher for why they lost.
    And on the other side we have a preacher that isn't a raving madman, or self centered jerk using the faith to shield himself. he genuinely believes, and wants to help and save who he can.
    Also interesting that the guardsmen are the ones using tactics. This woman tried to give good advice. Cut their losses, regroup and try to win with a fall back plan. We also saw a guardsman trying to make a plan to fight the deathmark sniper before his last buddy ended up getting killed in the middle of his plan. Showing the guard are both capable, but need to adapt and change. But people like Danika who simply believe fighting harder and believing will win the day. The only reason I can think of is that Danika knew something the guardman didn't, and knew there was no fallback, this was it.

A Salamander, and quite a few chapters see the truth of everything.. Depends on what ss divison you're talking about, some were more competent than others. Alot of foreign ss legions didn't buy into the aryan super race as their german counterparts so some legions were actually somewhat proper combat divisons. Though they probally weren't as competent as the whermacht but there were some, not as elite as the ss would think they were but some were decently competent as soldiers and how to wage war. Panzergranadiers for example were quite competent soldiers.
      And a lot of ss legions were panzergranadiers.
      Also it depends on what time period of the war, in the early stages the ss were basiclly useless, but while towards the end some ss soldiers started to stop beliving in the whole aryan supremecy and just started behaving like normal soldiers with some major war crimes being commited.

    • @_NutcasE_
      @_NutcasE_ 8 месяцев назад

      Emperors projections thus far have been visions only, and Posession of Guilliman. If this is not her own minds machinations.. It's something worse. An unwanted warp entity. Tzeentch daemons specificly like to appear to you as the people you once knew. Erebus in 30k used the old dead 1st captain of lunar wolves to appeal to Horus. so it's not unlikely some daemon could use the guardswoman she knew as a pathway to manipulate her. People with faith would be the few remaining connections to warp in Pariah nexus.

      @_NutcasE_ if they did that twist my rating of this show would go from 8/10 straight to 0/10. For goodness sakes sometimes a person simply suffers from ptsd and has a mental break, it doesn't need to be tzeenth diddling the mind of some random soldier

    Soldier has a good suggestion but faith blinds the fanatic to die worthlessly instead of falling back. Even the Astartes give ground to regroup at better positions.
    Some people got mad at me for saying it but the Commissar Cain quote is accurate the how the Sisters are portrayed. A bunch of emperor botherers who despite advanced weapons and armor and martial excellence make poor soldiers because their faith comes before reason.

      There’s a saying about the German military during the World Wars that applies very well to the sisters: tactically brilliant, operationally challenged, and strategically bankrupt.
      They’ve got the fire power and martial prowess to win most fights, but they fail to see the bigger picture.

    If Sister Danica's not careful she's going to end up being visited by the Inquisition lol. Although the way she's so damaged, angry and now jaded at the Emperor, I wonder if they'll include a storyline where she becomes tempted by Chaos.

      The Guardswoman, if she isn't just a PTSD-induced figment of her imagination, is either the Emperor testing her or a Warp entity looking to tempt her.

      @@NixonRules963 Massive fanatic, actually. And you don't have to be one to know that in 40k to fail is to sin. These are not sane, normal, well balanced people. These are nut cases. The ecclesiarchy does not teach forgiveness and hope, it teaches cruelty and hate. She said it herself, the emperor is not a forgiving god.
      But you tell me, why would the inquisition come after her? Because she threatened a coward who hid while aliens destroyed his world? In all likely hood the preacher would be the one in trouble here. This is without mentioning that the Adepta Sororitas are the military wing of the Ordo Hereticus and are afforded the closest thing the inquisition gets to trust.
