50% inflation since Cybertruck reservations opened. and Tesla is only selling the most expensive versions first to cover their start-up costs

Thank you, Brad. This is one of your best videos! Really good views and perspectives of so much rapid change, not only at the factory, east and west, but all over the entire place. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the the new rectangular clearings, especially the ones on the south side of the river near the power plants. Most surprising to me is the new work/modification of the tunnel exit point.

0:51. Southend, west. Apron. Base of grease trap installed in the blue trench shield. Black upper sections to the right.
1:51. Southend, south. West Fire Escape Passage. Staging, formwork decking, and rebar. Ready for concrete.
Applying a bituminous sealer to the wall of the passage.
6:45. South of the river. Irregular shaped site. Looks like site access and storage for a project, rather than a project.
7:13. Westside, storage. 52 transformers. Much bigger BESS installation than the existing, if indeed these are for that purpose.
9:34. Westside, Tunnel Project. Portal. Removing the top tunnel liner segments. Might be replacing these. Some segments still on site.
13:36. Tesla Road, north. Westside. Clearing for a new site. Silt fence installed.
13:47. Tesla Road, south. Westside. Same again.
14:49. Tesla Road, south. Westside. Trenching for the silt fence.
16:14. Casting, east. Formwork boxing for the central slab. Bottom, leftish. Black steel plates, embedments perhaps.
17:35. Tesla Road, north. Vaults. Silt trap* in the bottom of each.
17:55. Tesla Road, north. Ductbanks intersection. Fixing an angle around the inside of the enclosure, close to the top. For a metal deck perhaps.

casting-East: Could it be that they are building an "outside" casting-machine plate ? (Think unboxed car-assembly for the Nextgen Vehicle). It could very well eb that the "new" machine would be to big to fit in the current casting-machine places and that Tesla wants to reserve the internal Casting-spaces for machines of the same type (6000 / 9000 ton variants).

@@stevenhamerlinck6832 I'm confident what we will see here is a pair of traveling gantry cranes for shifting things in a out of Casting. Dies etc.
Very similar system at the end of the the Die Shop, seen in Joe's 23 June video at 29.57.
What's going on with the line of columns, I'm only guessing. Thinking a wall mounted traveling gantry crane here.
From googling, there's a type of traveling gantry that is wall mounted on one side and A frame mounted away from the wall. Thinking the steel plates might be embedments for the A frame wheel to track up and back on.
      Proper guessing there.
Casting machine base. Interestingly the 9000t machines were mounted directly to the concrete floor. The 6000t machines were mounted on a steel frame cast into the floor.

What's wild is the cyber truck is only priced a little more then the currently outrageously priced stock off the lot; ford, Chevy, and dodge trucks. And a lot of them cost more than the cyber truck!

    • @Frank-gt7me
      @Frank-gt7me 2 месяца назад +3

Unfortunately for all of the manufacturers, even though people may want $100k trucks, not many can actually afford to buy them. All dealer lots are filled with those expensive trucks, but they can’t sell many of them.Tesla’s site is now promising delivery of the foundation series by the end of next month, and the other models by the end of the year, so many of the million reservations may have evaporated. Perhaps many of them were only willing to buy the cheaper version.

I thought Sawyer made an X post about the cybertruck, Tesla is still selling the foundation series and will continue as long as they can to keep margins up as these are the most expensive to build due to the ramp up. When the other versions come into production for a lower prices they will open it up to reservation holders first so they want to end the increase in reservations because they already have 1M reservations or something for the cheaper versions. When demand slow from current reservation holders the 40K cybertruck version will come back but maybe at a other price by then.

    Tunnel project:
@ 9:34 Beginning demolition of the tunnel or at least the tunnel entrance.
@ 9:04 Flatbed truck ready to pick up more defective precast road segments.
New power supply to the building:
@ 17:29 Cables now being pulled through the duct-bank over to the Mega-vault. Notice that only 8 out the 12 available cable ducts are being used. Which leaves room for future expansion.
@ 17:35 Another clear close up view into two more vaults. A very clear view where you can see that only 8 out of the 12 available cable ducts are being used.
@ 17:43 A view into the next two vaults. An easy way to count the cables is to count the green ground wires. Three large cables for each ground wire. 8 ground wires = 24 cables (8 three phase circuits) per duct-bank. Again, these duct-banks can hold 12 three phase circuits each.
@ 17:51 A good closeup view down into the new structure at the duct-bank intersection/crossover. Where it appears that they trimmed down the 12 conduits entering the lower left of the structure.

Randomly speculating here: 52 white transformers are currently sitting in the west side storage lot at 7:14 and people are wondering if there might be a new megapack facility soon to be built. Could it be possible the construction work seen at at 6:08 might develop into another megapack site?

Foundation series is slowly loosing value....now as low as $107,000.....there are now a lot of used ones on the market....and there's not much of a waiting line anymore....so probably in 6 mos. you'll start seeing Cyber trucks for $79,900 so it can use the tax credit. Those who bought Foundation series will be severely underwater if they still haven't flipped it by then.

Probably in preparation to build the tunnel exit. But it is unusual that they previously laid piping, conduit, and precast road segments right up to the end of the area they are now demolishing.
