Thanks for the great video, it truly helped me refocus my search for the hardest to find leak I've ever searched for. I was about to throw in the towel!!! The tire was losing 6-8 lbs overnight. But then again I left my car parked for 3 days and had only lost 5 lbs. None of this registered till I finally found the leak. It was a small gash on side of the tread about an inch from the edge. It doesn't leak when the tire is off the car till enough downward pressure causes it to open. I'm assuming the times I lost 8 lbs the tire had stopped with gash on bottom and when I lost only 5 over 3 days I parked with gash on top. Can't even see any damage to tire till pushing it down. Is this mendable? With enough force I can see the metal thru the crack. Can't really afford a tire right now so if I can't fix it I'll have to manage it for a little while preferably till time for all 4 to be replaced. Thanks again!
Mr. Toyota maintenance. Thanknyou for sharing this. It helps alot. I too plan to start my own mobile or maybe even shop. Now I know I will need tore and balance machine. So looks like best thing to do is reseat the tires in this situation.
Excellent video! I have a similar problem but I have had the rim polished and tire sealant applied - twice! The tire and valve were checked 3 times after the tire was over-inflated marginally. The SLOW leak still exists?!?!? It loses ~5 lbs after ~7-10 days. ??? I am considering putting the spare on this rim to see if the problem still persists.
I have had the same problem more than once and read somewhere to put dawn dish washing detergent and put into the tire and air iy back up and It will quit leaking, and it worked for me!
Great input -Thanks! .... do you take off tire to put soap inside tire? Or do you find the leak, and put soap on Outside on thread, and fill it back to spec psi? TiA
You would be crazy to put 60 PSI in a standard tire. You should never go over what the sidewall maximum pressure says which is typically 40-44 psi. Great job finding out the problem. I’ve never seen such a small leak on a perfectly good rim. Thanks for posting
@@xDismosis - do what you want but going over maximum sidewall pressure is NOT the same as going over recommended. They are not the same. New to the industry?
I have this same problem on my 05 Highlander passenger side, front and back. Max is 44lbs I keep em at 37 all around. But in a week or so my front passenger will be at 25 and the rear will be at 30. Drivers side front and back is always fine.
It can be trash that was caught when mounting tire or just crusty dirt and grease on the rim or those little rubber hair left over from making the tire. There are videos on how to DIY the tire and rim without using a machine.
i had this exact same thing for almost 2 years on my camry. i just fill the tyres every time i go to gas station. i fill upto 32pi and goes down to 29 every week
“This is like fighting crocodile or something.” 🤣

Good find. I would not recommend just a re-seat as the tires are on the wear bars, I would recommend replacing the tires.
Thank you. Found my leak along the bead just like yours.

Goes to show how a small leak can have severe consequences.
To me, that tire is done....needs replacing ...love your maintenance vids 😀
nahh i had that for years on multiple tyres and i live with it
@@ananth218Canada what i mean is ...the tread is low and tire need replacing....not talking abt the leak
@@Leatherkid01 ahh good point :)

you must be new to the industry if you’re that scared of going over recommended psi😭

I love his voice. The accent is immaculate
Helped me greatly ! Thankyou !
Looking through what???the Fread??😂 good video
thanks one thing which you highlight is good that have to fill more air as tyre already loose air so its hard to find flat when no extra air is added
You are forgiven for using a Subaru in this demonstration but please don't make a HABIT of it!!! ;)
After I saw that, THEN it would be time to maybe put the 60psi into it for a moment. That might seat it. It's worked for me before. ✌
I wish you set up shop here in Pensacola FL.

Dealing with that same thing. I even bought an electric tire inflator. I'm gonna ride it until I can't no more.
Thanks for sharing this video good information.
