Anyone else go back and watch the classic gameovergreggy episodes. So much nostalgia. I miss the good old days
Doing the same thing, there’s a real magic to these early episodes that I’ve never seen with any other podcast. It’s weird
I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since this episode, I used to watch gameovergreggyshow episodes while studying for psych and bio class and it’s the only thing that got me through that semester
Thanks for chatting and watching, everyone. Remember, we post a nerdy conversation each and every day, so I'll see you tomorrow for A Conversation with Colin.
Can't beat Kelly Kapowski because she is still smokin'
This conversation was especially rad. It also clocked in at over 2 hours!
love the length on this episode. God bless "y'all" haha. You guys are amazing. I'm constantly reminded each video by how much Colin in I have in common in terms of how we think and our habits, and personality... would be awesome to chill with you guys one day... BEYOND 400?! Complete respect for all of you. Cheers, from Toronto!
Checkin' in to see what Nick has made up about me.
so cute
Excellent last topic by Colin actually made me think, genuinely enjoyed that great show guys these early episodes are certified classics.
feels like home, man.
Everyone needs to watch this twice. Watch is once normally, and then on 2x speed. Absolutely hilarious!
Rewatching the backlog of this show to remind me why I love this channel and Jesus Christ
Thanks Tim, Colin, Nick oh and Greg i guess... these need to be daily so i say it's time to leave IGN behind and just live stream this 24/7 purely for my entertainment (along with super knockin' boots), that is all!
As a late 80's baby I didn't start crushing until the very late 90's. I particularly remember Alicia Silverstone from Batman & Robin, Kirsten Dunst in Small Soldiers, and Natalie Portman in Star Wars.
I think we all know who is Colin's number one fan. That person is none other than Nick Scarpino, man is nuthugging him and just stays staring at him. haha or he just admires Colin that much, which he is admirable
Oh, for those asking about the Bandcamp MP3 for GOG6: Bandcamp is being screwy and won't take the MP3. I've emailed and am waiting the support update.
Greg Miller did they ever respond?
This episode reminded me of an anecdotal story I was told a few years ago:
I had a huge crush on Alex Mack while the show was being aired. A few years ago, it came up in a conversation with some friends/roommates that was probably pretty similar to the one you guys had in the episode. They emphatically urged me to bring it up to another mutual friend the next time we spoke, which I did. He sort of casually and smugly replied, "Larisa? You want to hear about Larisa?" As it turns out, he had attended the same school, Sarah Lawrence, that some of the characters in 10 Things I Hate About You had attended ALONG WITH the actress who played Alex Mack (I don't believe that her character went to Sarah Lawrence in the movie, but it's still pretty coincidental). Supposedly, he met her at a party there and they had a bit of a fling. She was apparently getting over well-known pop-punk drummer Travis Barker at the time and was, according to my friend, a bit nutty and overbearing.
That's my story about how a friend of mine hooked up with my 90's girl crush.
Oh - and you wouldn't want to be Iron Man (at least, based on the argument that Batman's life is too dark and tortured) because Tony Stark is an alcoholic with some pretty heavy inner demons.
This show is the best thing on youtube each week.
Tell your friends!
As I listen through the back catalog of the GOG show as I study for finals, I really want to say that as much as I love the goofy, random, off the rails conversations of this show, Colin's topics are a great change-of-pace and refreshing topics on entertainment podcasts such as these. It adds another dimension to this show that I think keeps me listening for over 2 hours and has me challenge my own beliefs (mostly my political ideologies). Love the show guy, feels like the only youtube show I've been watching this past week.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite podcasts. And this one is over two hours long. Even more GameOverGreggy to enjoy!
Thanks for the support and love, John!
I hate when Podcasts try to make a certain length and end up cutting out what could continue to be a good conversation. If the people in it need to go somewhere (or sleep) than end the show, but if they are going to end it just for the sake of having a set length, don't; let it ride and keep going.
I didn't think the show could have gotten better then the last episode but HOT DAMN is this one SOOO good. Thanks for this gem guys. Insta-buy.
Who makes the list of '90s Crushes? Topanga, Kelly Kapowski, and Tommy the Green Ranger: '90s Girl Crushes - The GameOverGreggy Show
Tommy the Green Ranger??? I'm definitely watching this.
Catwoman ;)
What about Winnie Cooper?! Or to a certain extent Patty Mayonnaise?
Christine Lakin or Staci Keanan
Kimberly the pink ranger and tapanga for sure(;
Definitely go with 4 (plus guests) topics. I really enjoyed the long format since I'm just working away with you guys chatting in the background.
I'm so on board with your Idle hands and Crazy Taxi references. Idle hands is the best teen movie!
You know, this is the first show that I've watched. At first I wondered, "why does this guy colin have a show after himself?" Now I know why, he's intelligent, and understanding and .... REAL, much respect man, lots of respect.
Something I've been looking forward to every Monday for the past month or so. Keep it going guys!
I think the good things about Power Rangers (there were some) were the story arcs that stretched over multiple episodes. The episode writing was annoyingly formulaic, but then you get stories like losses of powers, the green candle, and things like that,
Congratulations on becoming my joint favourite podcast. BEYOND
Watching this, I bet all of your better halves love this episode of GameOverGreggy.
Nick's not weird, he just has this delightful way of jumping around the spectrum of innocence.
Tim looked way more like his brother in these older videos than he does now.
"U shoots shube shoob shube shoob" - Colin's impression of Greg. Nearly spit up my Cheerios
Good call to go eith the four topics instead of an hour and a half cut off point. Longer episodes are great!
Finally, Colin put socks on. Huge pet peeve of mine when people have jeans without socks
I now have over 6 hours of content in my bookmarks. Needless to say tomorrow has now been planned :) Keep up the excellent work guys.
Boom! Thanks for the support.
Don't worry about going over 1 hour 30 again. That was awesome.
Nice way to relax after work. :)
The juxtaposition between Tara Reid and American Exceptionalism is amazing. I do think there is a certain American quality that is unique. The fact that the vast majority of U.S. citizens believe that they can make it to the top and that they can be the best even though, statistically, it won't happen is certainly something that sets us apart. Is it realistic? Maybe not, but I think that unrealistic mindset is something that you find less often abroad. We certainly have room for improvement but our stubborn nature is as much a strength as it is a weakness as a country.
I also used to have a Redline bike. Superb.
Loved it! My 90s crush: Darlene from Roseanne. I always thought she was super pretty (and weirdly awesome)
I'm a few months younger than Tim, I don't know how he's missed all these shows that I watched. I guess I'm lucky I have an older sister.
2:10:22 Nick's view on Canada is awesome haha. Speaking as a Canadian, I love the United States. I think it's a great place that has flaws, much like Canada, but is still a great place to live and visit.
-90's crushes: Shanon Doherty and Tifanni Amber Thiessen.
- To go by Nick's list: I would have to rank them as so: 1) Chinese 2) Burrito 3) Pizza 4) Cottage Cheese 5) Tofu. Now, my roommate and I were discussing this list and found that Chinese is too broad and we would have to broaden Burrito as Mexican and Pizza as Italian. With that in mind, we looked at this list and his list was Chinese, Italian, Mexican, C. Cheese, Tofu. I had it listed as Mexican, Chinese, Italian, C. Cheese, Tofu. I too, enjoy making lists and ranking stuff. Go rankers! lol.
-Colin (American Exceptionalism): As a veteran, I believe that we do many great things for the entire world than other countries. We, as citizens, should not be shameful of our troubled past because we, as a country, are still trying to improve ourselves. We have done beneficial contributions to be proud of our accomplishments. Our push to create innovative technologies and social changes is a great example of our progress. Our country is progressively moving towards a positive move. We do what we can to bring about good changes because we are such a great country made from our differences.
However, this country abuses third-world countries with many of our industries in which the labor workers are not paid fairly. Profiteering has occurred over the blood of American soldiers during WW II and even our current military involvement. Americans massacred countless Native Americans and have stolen lands from them and Mexicans. The majority of blue jeans, shoes, clothes, etc. are made from third-world countries, not the U.S. I am proud of this country and happy that we don't hide the shame of our history, but we hold it by the hand and show that we are making changes. Our country is great, but we have to acknowledge both our flaws and contributions.
Awesome video, I like the 4 topics with no time limit. Keep it up guys.
You guys rock!!! I've been watching this podcast and some of your other vids here on youtube my day off from work has been nothing but watching you guys today, keep up the great work
Great episode plz keep them going and personally I don't mind it being 2+ hours long all great topics
Listening to this with headphones is slightly trippy. It's like the GOG Show is running around my head
The one reason i look forward to mondays is for this show. Keep up the great work guys. BEYOND!!!!!
I've been looking forward to this all morning. I'm so happy!
Enjoy, Gerald.
Nick's inspirational monologue about American Exceptionalism came straight from the pilot episode of The Newsroom. I wonder if he knows that.
Great show! Really enjoyed watching. Thanks!
anyone else noticing the weird audio thing when wearing headphones? It sounds like it switches back and forth between left and right headphones really fast at times. Giving me a headache.
I'm not sure what game character you guys were talking about, but Chiron is also the name of the greek god who brings you across the river of styx and into the underworld. Plus (in the original latin of the Aeneid) it said he had eyes of fire and a great (but unkept beard). So he seems pretty badass, and it also seems someone actually cool you can name your kid after (if anyone gets it).
*The more you know*
i really love how cloin defense America and brings up a lot of good points about why we are a world power
I was a teenager in the 90s... All girls were my crush!
Great episode, could have easily been longer with some of those topics.
Long is good when you can get there naturally with good discussion, as long as it's not forced. I definitely prefer when you guys put in a lot of time and effort into the topic. Would like to have heard a lot more on the super power stuff in-depth, that kind of thing is always fascinating when you get into the serious details.
Alex mac from the Nickelodeon show major 90s crush
just got to that point in the show....thought i had one that wasnt that popular.
pink ranger was one of my first crushes though.
That was a great episode, in fact I LOVE IT. Please keep this up guys.
I hope you keep doing this,I will need those for my second semester of college, great job
We ain't going anywhere.
+Greg Miller hi greg
Listening to what Colin had to say about what America has given the world was pretty interesting. I have to point out (As a Brit) that the first modern computer was actually made in the UK, but I guess Colin's point was that the Personal Computer was developed in the US.
But, I got thinking about this. Does the US excel in further technological developments because it has a single language? It allows for all of the leading experts in this country with a population of 350 million, spanning thousands of miles to all gather and work together in a single area.
Comparatively, just travelling a few hundred miles in Europe will take you somewhere that has a language not mutually intelligible with your own, or even completely unrelated to it.
The Halloween episode of Boy Meets World was horrifying for me. I was like 6 when that episode came out, and my babysitter was watching it, and oh my god I didn't sleep for days.
Go as long as it takes boys.. You guys are great!! Beyond!!!!
I like how Colin thinks that Cottage Cheese on pasta is awful but Mayo and rice is a winner.
I would rather hear all four topics as opposed to just cutting the episode off at a certain point. Also, Colin going last is great because it allows the episode to end on a more serious and thoughtful note compared to the beginning.
TMNT: AND NO ANCHOVIES, IF YOU PUT ANCHOVIES ON THAT PIZZA MAN YOUR IN BIG TROUBLE! lol i love that part hahaha
I have so many thoughts with the last topic!!! It's making my head hurt!
Flipper- www.imdb.com/title/tt0111964/
that is were Jessica Alba came from, and i a huge crush on her
The Tim Allen grunt pops up every episode hahaha
RUclips has all the Boy Meets World episodes. That's how I watched them all again.
Great vid guys. America has now brought us one more great thing - The GameOverGreggy Show
Super power - invisibility! I could use it to fight crime and for leisure.
Rank the foods - Chinese food, pizza, burritos, cottage cheese, tofu. But the Chinese food that you described from New York and California sounds different then here in Canada. Or at least from what I've had.
Boyhood crush - Tiffani Amber Thiessen
That last topic was DEEP. Coming from the U.K, I don't think American's are hated that much.. :)
The Tim Allan grunt makes and appearance lol!
Great episode I agree.with everything collin said about his topic.
Come to ND Colin! I can assure you driving is so pain free haha
Cocaine was written by JJ Cale in 1976 and then covered by Clapton and released as a single in 1980. Sadly JJ Cale died last year :( he was a cool guy.
DOWNER.
Best show ever thanks guys keep up the great work
Great show, had a big grin for 2hrs straight! :D
Greg we have the same Puma Socks! And Topanga was my end all be all back in the day!
If your ever in Anchorage Alaska and you want pizza you must go to Mooses Tooth. Best pizza ever! I'm telling you guys, you think New York pizza is good? You must try Mooses Tooth. There also there own brewery, best beer you've ever had.
GameOverGreggy show before they turned to Kinda Funny just hits different
That strive to be better is not the American spirit, its the human spirit. I like to view people as humans not as members of a nation. Humanity is amazing not any one particular country.
I agree with that, and I think nationalism and patriotism is a roadblock to the goal of world peace and acceptance. But on the other hand, culture and religion is the CANCER of that goal, so before we tackle American pride, we need to sort a few other things out first. But anyways, yes, humanity is amazing. Problem is, not every country is amazing. In fact, most countries in the world are absolute sh*t. I'm not American, it's just true. Most people are amazing, but there is a reason they come to the EU, America or Canada. It's because the system and government or maybe values of their countries are warped and corrupted. No country has a perfect system, especially America, but on the other hand, I'll take "not perfect" over "I might die if I say the wrong thing" or "Here daughter, have some acid poured all over your face for looking at another man"
Thank you for the Tim Allen grunt. :) haha
holy shit Greg and Colin are Superman and Batman fits perfect
Colin says otherwise, but he is absolutely putting America up on a pedestal.
Can't wait for the iTunes version!
We Canadians love you too Colin! - Yes, I'll speak for all of us :P
Greg, always do it like this, finish the 4 topics
Next week - dinosaurs needs to be a topic! Lol
I do think American exceptionalism does exist, but i think exceptionalism exists for every country. Americans do think we are better than everyone else, but I've talked to tons of people who live in different countries that feel the same about their respective countries.
Some great random topics!
For superhero powers, I would take invincibility. As always great show!
90's girl crush: Sabrina the teenage witch.
superpower ability to phase through object a la shadowcat. It's pretty human and reality based.
I like this video length, and would be fine if it were longer. The best part by far those was the part involving Tim's girlfriend.
Not sure why, but sometimes the sound shifts back and forth from left to right and vice-versa.
Ever since the CW Show Arrow. I have become a huge Green Arrow fan. And he has no super powers....but damn his reflexes!
I'd pick Wolverines healing factor. Because I want to live for as long as possible, just so I can play all the games, watch anime and read comics. and still have time to explore the world and so :)
How many Game over Greggy shows do you plan to make a year? I love them, beyond!
One a week.
That's dedication, well done, sir.
I have stuff to do today! I want to be a responsible adult! But son of a bitch! There is a two hour episode of game over greggy, and it is as great as it always is! I hate you guys in such a great way, keep it up
this is the reasons my mondays are great :)
The America Fuck Yea + The Tim Allen Grunt = new Call of 4th of July
may youplease put the mp4 on itunes as well for 1.5/2.0 added to the price of the mp3 because i like watching u guys and i would like to watch this if i was offline
I used to have it really bad for Larisa Oleynik... I wrote her fan mail lol got a signed photo... Wish I would have held onto stuff >.>
great respect for American achievements however i personally believe i would have more respect to people (likes these guys) who had an understanding of what other countries have managed to achieve instead of bragging over their own achievements and saying this is why we deserve respect. I especially liked the praise of an American towards the Japanese tech however saying all the achievements like we made internet and computers and then saying Germany have got good food needs a little more detail in their actual achievements
Aarg! I often hear words like nation and independence thrown around when America is the topic of conversation. This might not be a popular opinion but you should define your self as a human being first and an "american" second.
Anyway.. cheers guys :) it was interesting hearing your opinions on the subject.
Kimberly from Mighty Morphin, my first crush
