@@cericeejay9375 you'll be able to manage fine. Find the tuning and take it a measure and then a bar at a time. The best music teacher I ever had when I was a kid used to say you have to learn the notes before you can play the rhythm.
@SebastienAuger Totally!! This was a learning experience for me. I probably didn't explain that properly in the video. I am absolutely tuned in CGC EGC in this video and you're correct That is not open C. Wouldn't it be considered open C alt.
@@DustinStarr. I have 12 gauge string on my acoustic and it is set up for standard tuning. There is no doubt that my intonation goes slightly out when I am tuned this low. If you plan on having guitar to play in this tuning it should definitely be set up properly. My Takamine has perfect intonation and is an amazing guitar in standard choosing and I have a slight problem with the intonation tuned this way as well and I think that's probably natural. Would probably make sense to get a bigger gauge to tune this low or have a luthier set your acoustic up to be tuned at this tension level and intonation adjusted as such.
@@Jake.Andrewsmusic I have to admit I don't have a lot of experience with these open tunings or I would have talked about it a little more. I just kept studying his fingers and tuning my strings until I could mimic what he's doing. Lol. It took a bit but I figured it out. I just wrote and am in the middle of recording an original in this tuning. Found some inspiration learning these songs.
@@Paul.Jr.Wayling the Helix LT is amazing. I play lead guitar in a Pink Floyd tribute band and have for about 13 years. I'm able to completely recreate his sound for 3-hour shows. It doesn't matter what style of music you're into you can recreate the sound. For this video I just chose a fender amp with a hall reverb and a digital delay, along with an added boost pedal when I want to get a little heavier. I think the Helix is extremely versatile and highly recommend it.
@@ryanguitargodfrey thank you so much for your time to respond to me. i really appreciate it. it sounds like i need one of these in my life. i do have an effects pedal but this Helix is sounding awesome.

*very important* the Open C tuning variation is CGCEGC, and NOT the standard Open C C-G-C-G-C-E

What gauges do you use, mine keep going out of tune slightly?..

So what is the actual tuning? I'm stuck on this part and don't know the "alt" yet. E?
CGCEGC tuning I think...
