ruclips.net/video/EjnoHImoCpE/видео.htmlsi=f_qXviVSxWO56ZN5 Here's a better lesson video of this song. Many complaints of the bad camera angle so I corrected it and made a better version of this video.
SWJ is awesome, heard him while just listening to random stuff, guy blew me away!! Just saw the video of him playing it today, thanks for posting! Listen to his vinyl constantly! New song project to learn!
@@mikemoman of course my friend. See I knew I wasn't the only one lol. As soon as I figured out he was tuned to an open C I knew there'd be a lot of people confused. I've always been really good at figuring out how to recreate stuff as I've been the Gilmour in a Pink Floyd tribute band for about 13 years. I've gotten good at working until I really figure it out lol. I knew these videos would help. Appreciate you watching my videos man
You're very welcome and I can't wait for him to come through the Philadelphia area. I just discovered him this week and was very inspired to learn a couple of his songs. I just posted a video on father's Son as well
Completely addicted to SWJ (after discovering him a month or so ago). Cannot get enough of it. Sending to everyone I know. Was just sitting here starting to work out actual tuning (after playing some 'approximations') and came across your vid. Thank you for working this out and sharing with us.
I've been covering his stuff for a few months now. Finally "locked" in his voice with my nylon acoustic, people really seem to like it. Great stuff! Sounds great.
@@phrozen755 not gonna lie I almost ordered some nylons. Lol. I play in a Pink Floyd tribute and have for 13 years now. So, the more I think about it I should. Dave uses Nylon too. That's it, I'm ordering them today. Thanks for watching
I was lucky enough to see him this past summer. If he comes anywhere nearby, I highly suggest seeing him before the venues get too big and ticket costs are too high!!
@@JosephDeLuca-h2q yeah he's awesome and love playing his stuff. I'm going to make a few lesson videos on him and will try to work on a better camera angle
This is so well done. I'm in the same boat as you--I think this might be one of the best songs ever written (and sang). Hell, I went and bought nylon strings after finding SWJ. LOVE IT.
Check it out--he finally played I'm a Song again--on Dan Patrick's show just recently. Confirm your great transcription! Man, he is so humble and so incredibly talented. ruclips.net/video/a7vpgYoX5W4/видео.html
My Dad bought me a nylon string guitar last year. I messed around a little with it and thought I will never really get any use out of this thing. He passed away on Fathers day this year, I found SWJr in September and now I'm learning his songs on the guitar my Dad bought for me.
My pleasure my friend. I'm sure I'll be able to represent it a little bit better a week from now but thought I'd get it out there. Thanks for watching my video.
Sorry--2nd response. Thank you so much for sharing this. Can you share the part (maybe I missed it) in the 2nd verse when he says "I'm a song" and he holds it and plays an awesome chord progression through--hopefully you know which part I'm talking about. That's the part of the song that hits me in the gut the most (as if the whole song doesn't do that, lol)
@@DavidBockel I made a better quality lesson video which has that part in it. It's in the process of being posted. I'll put the link here. A lot of people complained about my plant camera angle so I thought I'd make a better one. 🤟😎
great stuff man. sounds pretty damn accurate to me. thank you, saves me some time figuring it out. this dude is awesome though isn’t he, i’ve just recently stumbled upon him.
Hi man. Good stuff !! I was listening to your info on the downtuning. It sounds like your saying : C, G, C, d, G, C. But i realised that your d (G string) is down to a E. Thank for the all the info. If you would do a full step by step course (with a clear view of the string) I would listen for sure.
At the beginning of the video when you say the g-string are you referring to what would be the standard tuning g-string or the string that is tuned to G? Very grateful for your video I just can't tell what strings you are playing as far as your left hand is concerned. But props for the rendition to me it sounds spot-on and I know swj version very well
@@brianclark1098 I need to get better at making videos. Just bought an actual phone holder for better angles. When I tune I'm referring to the tuning. After I start the lesson I'm referring to the standard tuned string. I know that's confusing but it's tough when I don't have the open C memorized in my head.
@@victorfettig4291 yep I did it the same hour I learned it and then a couple days later I was able to play it a little bit better. I guess I should have waited but

@@neilpedr hands like snow shovels lol. Totally understand that it's a bad camera angle. I make no money from my page and my videos are low quality I totally get that. I don't have a stand of which I can put my phone higher. I do realize that the camera isn't a horrible position but didn't have a way to make it better so it is what it is. I did get one today though because of this comment. I tried to step through what the frets are and much of it is all in the same fret in this tuning so totally get why my video isn't that friendly. Sorry for the frustration.
