Watch as the German Herman Goring Division try to hold the advancing allied army from reaching the beleaguered US landing force at Anzio.
Olaf takes his 1000 point German Grenadier / Herman Göring Division to fight a rear guard and prevent the British X Corps from pushing through and linking up with the US beach landing force.
Set in the outskirts of Anzio, Italy the fight will take place over a small village farm and buildings .
Another great battle, fantastic board and a few laughs and banter along the way…
…but who will win, watch and see!

When the PIAT hit in round one, you shot to glance needing a 2…should have been a 3 for long range.

I believe Piat’s are shaped charge so do not have a long range penalty for penetration… page 73.

Lucky artillery strike from the British did take away the initiative of the Germans so they never managed to do anything except defending. But still exciting to the end.

I did think about that, but knew I would be hiding him out of sight and from being hit… 3 observer squad always gives my opponent something to think about and can be a good thorn in their side.

For the british player: there's no Firefly in X corps reinforced platoon. Firefly saw very little action in Italian front 😉
Indeed you are correct, that’s why the army is based on X Corps and not actually X Corps… but it was fun to take in the game, especially since I don’t normally use tanks 😂

Weren't there two or three opportunities for the British to assault and take out small teams (such as the mortar) rather than limited shots?
Maybe, sometimes I like to assault other times not, just depends on the circumstances… also I love using the flamethrower so try to maximise its use… there is always a risk of losing with an assault, even when you outnumber your opponent.
Guys, one question, is it just me or do the British have almost no armor?
Of their armored vehicles, I have only seen a maximum of two so far, Churchill and the fire-flay. Does this have any special reason?
You are correct, Bolt Action is predominantly an infantry game in my opinion at least, and I do not overly like sinking a lot of points in to expensive armour…. Expect when I take big tanks 😂
Although I do like my Bren carriers and wasps!

Shouldn't the 222's machine gun have 5 shots cos of Hitler buzzsaw rule.
MMG with Hitlers buzz saw is 6 shots, LMG is 5 for Germans.
