Gorgeous army, and a joy to see on display. Since I don't play Warhammer, I've been painting up a lot of Colin Patton's dwarven sculpts from Conqueror Miniatures and Ragnarok Miniatures, with some random supporting characters from Northstar, Asgard Rising, and others which I can't remember. Planning to do wars between the Dwarves and Goblins in an Icelandic setting. I hope your collection brings you as much joy as mine has!

I am beyond jealous and impressed at this stunning looking army. Fantastic job, sir.
You've also solved a bit of a list building problem I've had myself, where you've managed to fit so many things in one list. By not running the King in the same unit as the BSB you've got both main fighting blocks benefitting from the Ancestral Grudge rule against an enemy character! I'm really curious if you've got some games in yet with this army, because this looks really fun to play and collect. You've got me feeling pretty inspired by now.

I’ve not played a great deal, and mostly against my 9yr old, so not really ‘stress tested’ the list I’m afraid. I’m sure when my book arrives I’ll be writing new lists as well 😅😂

If you do have some games with this I'd be very interested to hear how it goes though. I'm still waiting for pre-orders etc to even get started, so it'll be ages until I get to try something similar myself.

It's a gorgeous army, cheers for sharing! You might be right on the release being delayed because of AoS. My guess for the next release after the Sons of Grugni, is Chaos, reasoning is good faction- evil faction- good faction- evil faction and so on, choice based on popularity.
Thank you 😊. And yes I agree, I think Chaos would seem like a perfect next release, that’s where I’d have my money. I have a paused army project for that as well, so would be very easy to have an army ready for the launch of that as well.

You might be surprised to hear that this is actually a fairly strong list. It's more or less identical to the one I am planning and testing on Warhall. Though without the source of old models, I am waiting entirely on the new release.
I was hoping to make it on the stronger side, so at the very least I can hold my own if I go up against something good. I’m looking forward to getting the book to see what the w armies of infamy are.
@@MiniatureRealms One is definitely going to be Slayer-themed because of Ungrim. They teased another old character returning. Maybe Thorek Ironbrow with a unique anvil of doom and buffs to non-mechanized/non-gunpowder units like grudge throwers and quarrelers? They could also do one around Thorgrim Grudgebearer's expedition to Norsca and the Lost Holds.
Yes definitely Ungrim, and either of those other ideas would be great.

BEAUTIFUL army, I definitely want to see more of it!
Maybe not full battle reports - but can you do some sort of retelling of battles they have been in? Do a story like a Dwarf being in the fight would tell it, with pictures of the relevant units when they are the focus of the story. If you have models of the opposing army/armies, you could recreate scenes from battles in more dramatic pictures (like they do in battle reports in WD).
Also: [insert joke of Dwarfs needing more time because of shorter legs here]. Yeah yeah, I'm going into the book, I know. ;)

Awesome looking army mate, you must be very proud. Completing an army (if such a thing is really possible lol) is a huge achievement. Fingers crossed Dwarfs will be released this side of AOS4. GW insta account teased them but was very coy in answering questions about when that would be which ranged from we will know more when Warhammer Community tells us to "soon".

Nice mix of older and newer models, they all fit well together. I've spent the last 5 months slowly hoovering up metal Hammerers and Miners on eBay. Now I have to take a deep breath and look for the Longbeards too, although I like what you did to the plastics. Have your Rangers got shields on their backs? And did you just cut the hands off their double handed axes and stick them to their backs too? I ask cos they look really nice and I've got exactly the same models ready to paint up but I've put shields on their hands and I kind of prefer your version. Where's that sharp knife? ....😁
I can imagine your eBay bill is a little ‘ouch’ 😬. I did stick the shields to the rangers backs, and yes I cut the hands off the GW’s and hid it mostly in the shields.

Thank you Billy, it’s been loads of fun to do. Love having that giant in my cabinet, one of my favourite models for sure, and I think my chances of finding those missing models are next to zero 😂
Nice looking army, it does have that original Fantasy range painting style but with a modernized color palette, you even emulated the GW style presentation 👍🏼
The only "Dworf" I have ever had is the one hanging on my Black Orks banner 😆 Glad I kept my two original mostly metal Fantasy armies: Night Gobbos and Dark Elves.
I bet you have some classic sculpts! I always wanted the Marauder Dark Elf range, loved those models.
@@MiniatureRealms Those where cool models, I got into DE just before they started replacing sets with plastics (like the Cold one knights) I do have the older plastic night gobbos (metal fanatics) and now "classic" wolf riders.

I think I was quite lucky with mine, was complete in box in around 2010/11 on eBay. So mad at myself for losing those bits (and the box).

Just a thought on why dwarves are not out yet. There is a price increase coming 10 of june. In scandinavia that increase is up towards 15%. Releasing the dwarfs for two weeks and then raising the price would be like GW was discounting them at launch. Not really GWs style and it may also create some anger from those who wanted stuff on release but then having to pay 15% more because the items went out of stock as usual.
Possibly yes, though they’re releasing other stuff as usual, so that price rise will hit some products in the way you’ve described, so not sure they’d see the Dwarf release as anything different. I think it will be this Sunday now, there’s Dwarf related teasers on some of their social media.

That was the original plan, and they’re really lovely sculpts, but I was drawn back into the idea of using some classic sculpts. I also like to meet up with friends and play games at Warhammer World, and I couldn’t take a 3d printed army there.

There’s a mix of models from the late 1980s right through to the newer plastics. The ones from Cities of Sigmar were actually all old Warhammer Fantasy models released in 8th edition (Longbeards, Hammerers, Irondrakes, Gyrocopters).

Oh and call me cynical, but I think the pre-order for dwarves will go after the price rise. Why release 2 weeks prior to a price hike?
The price rise is on the 10th I think, so anything apart from today’s planned pre-orders will now be on the new prices from launch. Though it may have been part of the thinking, with it being more of a range rather than a separate set.
Guess we'll see Sunday. I don't blame them, it makes commercial sense- delay a launch by a few weeks and increase revenues by ~2-3%.
@philiphale2785 Yes it totally makes sense, and may well have been the reason. Thankfully we’re past the point now, so fingers crossed for an announcement tomorrow.

Unfortunately old world has been poorly handled and they could cause their game to fall flat if not careful, fingers crossed they get their act together because it’s an amazing game
Yeah it’s a shame the team behind it are not being given the support they deserve. But from a wider business point of view I understand what other systems are given priority.
