    hi!! thank you so much for another informative video. :) I was wondering if you could you go into your process for studying for things that are more practice problem based? (i.e. organic chemistry/math/physics etc) i'm struggling to really figure out how to apply the idea of creating mind maps or anything to make studying for those classes easier. right now my approach is to write out explanations for the common problems that i'd encounter, and then grinding out as many practice problems as i can get my hands on but its still quite time consuming and i feel like that it could be done more efficiently..!

      i use mindmaps to reorganize the logical structure of proofs in math as visual maps.
      then i use mindmaps to make an overview which concepts are directly related to another. this helps with interleaving and emphasizing the why-relationships. you create the shelfs in your mind which help finding challenging question to test yourself in multiple angles on the procedures

    And if your uni doesn't do past papers, wdyd?

    • @zain_asif
      @zain_asif  5 месяцев назад +1

      Theres always some form of past qs available. Ask older students, research, go on reddit. Or look at questions from other unis and use those instead.
      Always a way to figure it out.

      Check out recommended literature - some profs will often state their sources after each lecture - often there are one or two books thats are base for the whole lecture. Most modern books start out with some "learning objectives" - either in a box at the beginning of the chapter like "learning objectives are: 1. learn x 2. learn y" or they are hidden in the introductory text for the chapter like "This chapter should give an understanding of xy and how topic a relates to b" -
      so your first questions maybe the box or "How does topic a relate to topic b?" "What is xy?" - after the chapter the books may have some questions prepared for you.
      Another idea is not ditch topics and facts that you understood because actually you just learned "vocabulary" - so instead of being happy to get rid of flashcard that you mastered - you may look in anki for cards that are now marked as easy and then you increase the cognitive load and now do things like compare and relate those topics and find examples.

      This is what happens to me, try finding Q's of the same subjects from other universities. What I usually do, tho, is making my own question and trying to make them as exam-like as possible
