Business practice wise, this is the worst Netherrealm has gone. Selling Shang tsung as DLC when he was revealed at E3. The Krypt is no longer the Krypt. Microtransactions now fuel the game. Add Mortal Kombat to the list of beloved franchises turned bad with shitty modern gaming practices. It’s sad because the game is fun, and the potential this game had is right there. But Netherrealm was distracted by the money, rather than the game

So glad everyone’s noticing how soulless this game really is. I’ve been playing sine release and only have 2,300 crystals. Only enough to buy 4 skins 😂😂 I’ve put hours into this game, grueling hours to be exact. The towers weren’t too much for me but I can definitely understand how they’re tedious for others. The game is cheaply made with a pretty box basically.

I’d really like to know what I’m doing specifically wrong since you obviously sound like you have an abundance of Krystals. And I never appointed to the basis of them forcing us to purchase the crystals but to say there isn’t an obvious motive to subdue others minds into buying them is totally naive. I understand your rhetoric but to turn a blind eye and say nothing nefarious is going on with this game is bollocks. That store is a total blueprint from a mobile game, mobile games base a large section of its basis on money and purchasing items. The game is not evenly rewarding for the work people put in.
One of my biggest issues with this game is the base roster. Mileena, Ermac, and Reptile are the most glaring omissions to me, not to mention that the lack of 3d era representation is rather disheartening. By ignoring the 3d era, they are ignoring a large part of their history.
Have you sat through the end credits? There's literally hundreds of people across multiple sources who made this game happen. And yet it somehow managed to fail. Maybe that's part of the problem. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Chris Brening when I get a match with a level 19 and a Scorpion background I know it’s about to be some hard as defenses deployed against their nervous chaotic fighting style they fight like they just finish training and I often lose to a level 9 than a 79! I’m like how tf is that possible?
I totally agree. Feels slower and more convoluted than MK9/X. Netherrealm have a habit of finding a great balance (normally fast paced kombat, focus on combos and punishing) then they start fucking with it. This is the path they went down with deadly alliance and Armageddon, focusing on visuals and sacrificing game play by slowing everything down. Those games were awful. Fighting games work when they're fast. MK works when its fast. Tekken works when its fast. Street fighter works when its fast. When they start fucking with the pace of the kombat it ruins the visceral aspect. The people that play these games the most are fighting game enthusiasts. We're used to fast button input and reaction. I'm struggling with this game cause the characters animations dont actually match the button input. You have to put the commands in fast but the animation feels like its is trailing behind. Which makes the timing feel completely out of whack.
I regret buying this game, definitely lost money to this. I’ll be trading this back in for MKX. As a life long fan of MK I can’t believe MK11 is this awful.

Reason I think it blows is because of how much it feels like Injustice. No longer feels like Mortal Kombat at all. Mortal Kombat X is probably the last okay ish Mortal Kombat.
I never really got how it plays like injustice everything about them is different the combo variety,meter system,wakeups,health bar, and mk11 is slower. the only thing thats similar is they made a lot of charachters zoners for some reason.
Sadly, many MK forums are dead now. MK11 threads didn't get flooded a lot on MK Online, TRMK, MK Secret, etc since the game came out. When MK9 and MKX were released, two games had a lot of threads on MK forums. MK9 and MKX threads got many flooded more than MK11. Because people said it did feel like Injustice 2 including the freeze frame victory pose and the gear option. It doesn't feel like MK anymore. If NRS updates more skins, KP2, etc, people still aren't excited and they already move on. Did Ed Boon say they were going to support MK11 long more than the last game? No, it doesn't work. The MK forums are mostly DEAD now. Good riddance, Injustice boring MK11.
I pre-ordered this game, played it for one day then dropped it. The stiffness and slowness is unmatched by any other fighting game in the history of fighting games since 1991. Characters jumb like a pregnant woman. No running and useless dashing. My main Kung Lao lost his stylish kicks and no other character seem to have a stylish fighting style that make me tempted to use him. Overall I got fooled by game reviewers who are clearly being paid by NRS and bought MK11 although I didn't like its gameplay videos, thinking that it might feel different when I play it, but it appeared it was much worse than I thought. Btw I am sure many people feel the same but are not willing to speak because they will be attacked by the fanboys
Yeah this game sucks dude, Ed Boon got mad greedy with the microtransactions and the game just feels like injustice, horrible roster, horrible DLC, this is not the mortal Kombat I remember and i don't like the direction it's going in.

Im still playing it but i remember loving mkx and actively playing for months. Mk11 i feel a force or push from myself just to keep playing even if its not enjoyable. Kind of like SFV
@@GM_Yorri Yep. Couldn't be quoted better. I got MKX as a birthday gift back in 2015 and I loved it. Played it for months. Heck I still play it to this day. It's not perfect. Has its flaws but yeah MK11 feels like SFV in terms of being sign in to a server even for offline modes. Focused heavily on tournaments. The fighting itself feels off too like injustice. Don't get me wrong MK11 graphically is amazing and is fun with friends but yeah as a mk fan. I feel dissapointed and feel that it heavily has been affected by pleasing too specific players only.

I’ve been playing Mk since it’s arcade hay days , supported it during its 3D tenure and even crossover with DC followed by the reboot. I own all the games and out of all the games I have completed all of them except for one. An that one is MK11 I gave up on it a month into playing it.
Mk11 is so damn slow I hate this new era it feels like I'm playing a DC game. New characters are trash minus Erron Black...A lot of characters don't fit the mk universe to me

MK11 to me, it's not a bad game same time not great I think MK11 is a rather average game for what it is. Other than completing towers of any kind plus the story mode the rest of the game doesn't have much to offer. The new online A.I Battles mode is rather unappealing and the new Krypt mode isn't all that fun unlike previous entries. MK11 is also missing trademark mini games and secret character battles plus stage Fatalities all absent from the game. Unfortunately in the end MK11 just falls short of my expectations.
Everything you're describing sounds like Street Fighter 5. I called it before the beta even came out, I said "MK 11 looks like it's going to be the SF V of MK games" and I was right.

Everything takes forever to unlock and most of it is boring. Ten different "skins" which are only different in color isn't really ten different skins but that's how they make you unlock. Random krypt is also a freaking nightmare. Oh nice, I got yet another thing I don't care about unlocking because everything is random. Woo hoo!
The animation is off mostly because of the motion capture is abused. Most characters do not punch and kick with torquing of their waist hips and weight shifting with their feet like a real martial artist would. The jumps also lack bending of the knees before leaping in the air.

I grew up with old school Mortal Kombat, I played the original MK when I was 10 years old. I've spent more time playing UMK3 and MK Trilogy than any other fighting game. Once you get used to the fast pace of MKT the rest of MK games all feel slow (except maybe MK4). MKX felt slow to me as well. MK9 is the only modernish MK that stays somewhat true to the original arcade MK formula.

Honestly the variations system is pathetic. One of scorpions variations is an air grab and a tele enhancement. Thats just so pathetic. these mk11 variations dont even equal up to a quarter of a mkx variations. I think the real design of the characters is just stupid. We dont play mk to see realistic females and raidens that look like middle aged plumbers. i think the overall mechanics are fine the i lile most of the strings and the feel of the game.
i knew this game would be a failure when they said they removed the run mechanic, AND after the first big tournament, it was barely any hype lol. Ive been following MK9 and MKX for big tournaments like CEO and EVO and CB, but this was the first game i just had to turn off because it was soooooo slow and boring to watch.
* The story-mode is just a cheaply written excuse of a story. Sonya and Hanzo's death scenes just feel unearned and forced. Most of the dialogue towards the end just feels so campy. (Listen to that part when Liu Kang explains how he merges with Raiden. Kitana and Kung Lao's dialogue in that segment was just corny and tacky.) * Palette swaps SHOULD NOT count as separate skins. * Some of the gear and skins just feel so lazily crafted. Even Nightwolf's helmet gear looks so freaking dumb. Why in the hell would he need a ninja mask? * Rhonda Rousey's voice acting just ruined Sonya in MK11. * Last but not least, most of the new characters are just so bland and uninteresting. Cetrion and Kollector literally contribute nothing substantial whatsoever in this game, yet during the Kombat Kast they made such a huge deal about them. As much as I loved this franchise since childhood, MK11 is just a shoddy excuse to gain money. NRS were at their creative peak with MK9 and I loved MKX. MK11? Convoluted mess...
The removal of running and the passive meter build are both extremely pro-zoning. 2 out of 20 people i played in a day werent playing their characters zoning variation. This game is a zone fest, and that's what killed Injustice 2. I have no clue why they went even harder into zoning after the criticism of Injustice 2. Additionally the way fatal blow works is the definition of a scrub mechanic. I will take it to my grave that fatal blow is the worst designed game mechanic in a popular franchise that I've ever seen.
I absolutely love and adore fighting games. I get my hands on and play any big release from Street Fighter to Skullgirls. I’m trying my hardest to like this game and convince myself I didn’t waste 100 dollars on the premium edition but day by day I’m realizing this game sucks AS a competitive fighting game and this is the only fighting game I have in my library I’ve ever wanted to actual get my money back for.

MK11 is just injustice 2 with more blood and finishers as well as bone breaks ( yes I know it uses the same engine as injustice 2 and that it’s a game with more history)
Fighting AI in the game is super broken too I was sad too see they took the approach a lot of others games do where the skill level isn’t better really the computer just has complete unfair advantages (if you play at a harder level sometimes you just can’t interrupt an attack but they can do it to you) it’s such a lazy technique used by developers where the odds are just stacked in favour of the AI rather than providing a better challenge on equal terms.

Is it me or does this game take way less skill than mk10? To use an analogy mkx was chess and mk11 is checkers. People with way lower skill manage to beat me and I manage to win against players I should lose to. The gameplay is weird. Players tend to grab and uppercut excessively, and the crushing blow system does too much damage for easy inputs. And the game just feels really boring. This is coming from someone who really enjoyed mk10 and injustice 2. Mk11 just doesn’t feel as rewarding for some reason and the gameplay is slow paced. Hopefully I’ll Chang my mind but so far I am a little disappointed.
You do realize that uppercuts are very punishable and grabs can be escaped? Also krushing blows don't just require short inputs and have requirements before they can be used.

The problem with this game is they made it into some half ass version of SF and we don’t want that in a NR game. We want the fast zany high paced action. The crazy swaggy long combos. The ludicrous 50/50 war. This game is slow and boring. Nothing but people mashing fast frame pokes after strings and doing throw loops. Every match looks the same. I could watch MKX for hours. Ikr it's so stupid. I pre ordered this game and played it non stop, I decided to quit because every match I play everyone just zones and spams the same string over. Jax especially has this problem and it's so unbearable that when I switched to mkx I was free. The characters in mk11 are also honestly way too basic. It took me like a day to get good at noob saibot and kabal and even getting these combos just doesn't feel rewarding at all. Noob saibot as a fking character is way out of this games league imo. I missed the long combos in mkx because at least when I'd get my ass kicked by a liu kangI'd be like " oh wow he's good he's been practicing ". Now liukang in mk11 has like no strings he can combo off. There's barely anything you can do to mixup your attacks and get your opponent off guard now. It feels so clunky and the sound design is terrible. I'm sticking with mkx this game is probably on par with fallout as a disappointment.

One of my biggest issues with this game is the base roster. Mileena, Ermac, and Reptile are the most glaring omissions to me, not to mention that the lack of 3d era representation is rather disheartening. By ignoring the 3d era, they are ignoring a large part of their history.

Netherrealm have a habit of finding a great balance (normally fast paced kombat, focus on combos and punishing) then they start fucking with it. This is the path they went down with deadly alliance and Armageddon, focusing on visuals and sacrificing game play by slowing everything down. Those games were awful.
Fighting games work when they're fast. MK works when its fast. Tekken works when its fast.
Street fighter works when its fast.
When they start fucking with the pace of the kombat it ruins the visceral aspect.
The people that play these games the most are fighting game enthusiasts. We're used to fast button input and reaction. I'm struggling with this game cause the characters animations dont actually match the button input. You have to put the commands in fast but the animation feels like its is trailing behind. Which makes the timing feel completely out of whack.

I never really got how it plays like injustice everything about them is different the combo variety,meter system,wakeups,health bar, and mk11 is slower. the only thing thats similar is they made a lot of charachters zoners for some reason.
Sadly, many MK forums are dead now. MK11 threads didn't get flooded a lot on MK Online, TRMK, MK Secret, etc since the game came out. When MK9 and MKX were released, two games had a lot of threads on MK forums. MK9 and MKX threads got many flooded more than MK11. Because people said it did feel like Injustice 2 including the freeze frame victory pose and the gear option. It doesn't feel like MK anymore. If NRS updates more skins, KP2, etc, people still aren't excited and they already move on. Did Ed Boon say they were going to support MK11 long more than the last game? No, it doesn't work. The MK forums are mostly DEAD now. Good riddance, Injustice boring MK11.

I pre-ordered this game, played it for one day then dropped it.
The stiffness and slowness is unmatched by any other fighting game in the history of fighting games since 1991.
Characters jumb like a pregnant woman. No running and useless dashing.
My main Kung Lao lost his stylish kicks and no other character seem to have a stylish fighting style that make me tempted to use him.
Overall I got fooled by game reviewers who are clearly being paid by NRS and bought MK11 although I didn't like its gameplay videos, thinking that it might feel different when I play it, but it appeared it was much worse than I thought.
Btw I am sure many people feel the same but are not willing to speak because they will be attacked by the fanboys

@@GM_Yorri Yep. Couldn't be quoted better. I got MKX as a birthday gift back in 2015 and I loved it. Played it for months. Heck I still play it to this day. It's not perfect. Has its flaws but yeah MK11 feels like SFV in terms of being sign in to a server even for offline modes. Focused heavily on tournaments. The fighting itself feels off too like injustice. Don't get me wrong MK11 graphically is amazing and is fun with friends but yeah as a mk fan. I feel dissapointed and feel that it heavily has been affected by pleasing too specific players only.

MK11 to me, it's not a bad game same time not great I think MK11 is a rather average game for what it is.
Other than completing towers of any kind plus the story mode the rest of the game doesn't have much to offer. The new online A.I Battles mode is rather unappealing and the new Krypt mode isn't all that fun unlike previous entries.
MK11 is also missing trademark mini games and secret character battles plus stage Fatalities all absent from the game.
Unfortunately in the end MK11 just falls short of my expectations.
Everything you're describing sounds like Street Fighter 5. I called it before the beta even came out, I said "MK 11 looks like it's going to be the SF V of MK games" and I was right.

Everything takes forever to unlock and most of it is boring. Ten different "skins" which are only different in color isn't really ten different skins but that's how they make you unlock.
Random krypt is also a freaking nightmare. Oh nice, I got yet another thing I don't care about unlocking because everything is random. Woo hoo!
The animation is off mostly because of the motion capture is abused. Most characters do not punch and kick with torquing of their waist hips and weight shifting with their feet like a real martial artist would. The jumps also lack bending of the knees before leaping in the air.
I actually like MK11, but the Kombat League and the tournaments were kinda trash, they were all the same...

I'm glad I'm not the only one, this game is unplayable for me, I'm awesome at street fighter and blazblue. I can't do special moves in this game, the Xbox one controller is part of the problem. But I manage in other games but not this one. Very cheap, every match is the same four fighters with the same combos. Boring as hell

I grew up with old school Mortal Kombat, I played the original MK when I was 10 years old. I've spent more time playing UMK3 and MK Trilogy than any other fighting game.
Once you get used to the fast pace of MKT the rest of MK games all feel slow (except maybe MK4). MKX felt slow to me as well.
MK9 is the only modernish MK that stays somewhat true to the original arcade MK formula.
I loved allvyhe original mk games. Brutal fast and dark as hell. I agree nothing had beat 9 in modern day speed

Honestly the variations system is pathetic. One of scorpions variations is an air grab and a tele enhancement. Thats just so pathetic. these mk11 variations dont even equal up to a quarter of a mkx variations. I think the real design of the characters is just stupid. We dont play mk to see realistic females and raidens that look like middle aged plumbers. i think the overall mechanics are fine the i lile most of the strings and the feel of the game.

i knew this game would be a failure when they said they removed the run mechanic, AND after the first big tournament, it was barely any hype lol. Ive been following MK9 and MKX for big tournaments like CEO and EVO and CB, but this was the first game i just had to turn off because it was soooooo slow and boring to watch.

* The story-mode is just a cheaply written excuse of a story. Sonya and Hanzo's death scenes just feel unearned and forced. Most of the dialogue towards the end just feels so campy. (Listen to that part when Liu Kang explains how he merges with Raiden. Kitana and Kung Lao's dialogue in that segment was just corny and tacky.)
* Palette swaps SHOULD NOT count as separate skins.
* Some of the gear and skins just feel so lazily crafted. Even Nightwolf's helmet gear looks so freaking dumb. Why in the hell would he need a ninja mask?
* Rhonda Rousey's voice acting just ruined Sonya in MK11.
* Last but not least, most of the new characters are just so bland and uninteresting. Cetrion and Kollector literally contribute nothing substantial whatsoever in this game, yet during the Kombat Kast they made such a huge deal about them.

The removal of running and the passive meter build are both extremely pro-zoning. 2 out of 20 people i played in a day werent playing their characters zoning variation. This game is a zone fest, and that's what killed Injustice 2. I have no clue why they went even harder into zoning after the criticism of Injustice 2. Additionally the way fatal blow works is the definition of a scrub mechanic. I will take it to my grave that fatal blow is the worst designed game mechanic in a popular franchise that I've ever seen.

I absolutely love and adore fighting games. I get my hands on and play any big release from Street Fighter to Skullgirls. I’m trying my hardest to like this game and convince myself I didn’t waste 100 dollars on the premium edition but day by day I’m realizing this game sucks AS a competitive fighting game and this is the only fighting game I have in my library I’ve ever wanted to actual get my money back for.

Fighting AI in the game is super broken too I was sad too see they took the approach a lot of others games do where the skill level isn’t better really the computer just has complete unfair advantages (if you play at a harder level sometimes you just can’t interrupt an attack but they can do it to you) it’s such a lazy technique used by developers where the odds are just stacked in favour of the AI rather than providing a better challenge on equal terms.

I TRYYYY to like this game. I literally have to FORCE myself to play it. I shouldn't have to force myself to like a game this much. Apparently it's not just me, other players also agree that this game is trash. It's just a well polished, pretty looking horrendously awful piece of crap.

Is it me or does this game take way less skill than mk10? To use an analogy mkx was chess and mk11 is checkers. People with way lower skill manage to beat me and I manage to win against players I should lose to. The gameplay is weird. Players tend to grab and uppercut excessively, and the crushing blow system does too much damage for easy inputs. And the game just feels really boring. This is coming from someone who really enjoyed mk10 and injustice 2. Mk11 just doesn’t feel as rewarding for some reason and the gameplay is slow paced. Hopefully I’ll Chang my mind but so far I am a little disappointed.

Jax especially has this problem and it's so unbearable that when I switched to mkx I was free. The characters in mk11 are also honestly way too basic. It took me like a day to get good at noob saibot and kabal and even getting these combos just doesn't feel rewarding at all. Noob saibot as a fking character is way out of this games league imo. I missed the long combos in mkx because at least when I'd get my ass kicked by a liu kangI'd be like " oh wow he's good he's been practicing ". Now liukang in mk11 has like no strings he can combo off. There's barely anything you can do to mixup your attacks and get your opponent off guard now. It feels so clunky and the sound design is terrible. I'm sticking with mkx this game is probably on par with fallout as a disappointment.
