Awesome. I have a bigger macaw and will certainly make this. BUT, using cupcake liners would also be great for much smaller birds…. Thanks for this great idea!

Cupcake liners definitely work for this, and because the diameter is smaller it will take less to get them to look full :)

Happily! Feel free to share the challenge with others, the goal is 150 toys over the next month since that would be one new toy for every bird at the sanctuary :)

How can I help make bird toys and give to them also

You can usually search if there are any rescues or sanctuaries around, they are usually eager for enrichment opportunities for their animals. They may even have guidelines/instructions for toys their animals like!

@@HiRedBird It is super helpful and I have been binging lol 😅 I love all the DIY stuff! Fantastic! I thought I saw that you do consults. May I PM you to discuss booking one?

My first inclination would be to try asking any questions in the Hi Red Bird! Facebook group and seeing if you get answers that will work. We can look at setting up a consult if you feel you need more info :)

I was just wondering if it wouldn't be safer to use the brown natural unbleached coffee filters? I worry about the bleach with the parrots.

It’s not something I’m too worried about since there shouldn’t be any bleach residue remaining since it’s a product made for contact with human food, but you could definitely use the natural filters if you wanted :)
