Genesis 6:9 -

At the end of Genesis one, God looked over everything he made and saw that it was very good (1:31). In chapter six God sees the wickedness of man, whose every thought and intention are totally evil. Man has gone from very good to totally evil, and a Holy God can’t tolerate evil.
We see pictures of Noah’s ark in many nurseries and children’s stories, and it all looks so happy. All the animals are smiling and so is Noah. The happy part is that there is a relationship between the ark and the salvation provided by Jesus so that we might be spared or delivered from God’s judgment.
As we dig into the original language we find the adult’s story. The language is as intense as the state of man is.
