- Hello, people of the 🌏, and welcome back to QuickSaveTV!
Respec button is actually not in the core game, but you can get it by downloading the "I'm the Commander Here" mod that allows you to manipulate the character abilities you get from Advanced Warfare Center and also adjust some other interesting stuff. Check it out here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Thank you so much for watching, if you enjoyed the video do not forget to:

Good luck, Commander! The 🌏 is counting on you! Игры
My first ever Templar is a God. With the same XCOM skill (Bladestorm, Fortress, Reaper, and Shadowstep) with GENIUS combat intelligent. In a retaliation mission, he killed a Faceless, Parry an advent lancer and killed it, deflect a Advent commander, killed 1 trooper and a mech with Reflect. In a single turn.
Sick, hahaha
All Templars are gods in this game.
I always have one Templar, on psi op, and one medic every mission.
And for the last one, I double Templars and psi ops, one medic, and one grenadier with shredder.
I dominate just about every mission.
@Vale Sauce
I don't know if there is a limit for the "hero" classes, but I know you can get more than one.
As far as your "self insert" project, you can character create if I'm not mistaken.
@Vale Sauce
Good luck!
Reaper with Templar is god like
I love your energy! You make me so excited to play with this class.
Jesus, switching with a Reaper... Suddenly the invisible scout's on high ground, and the laser blender is in the melee.
Exchange is useful in several ways, I took my templar on an ambush mission, I raised a ghost, ran ahead WITH THE GHOST, triggered an enemy, when he went to hide I used the enemy swap to move him to the open, where I was standing, used the team movement to swap my sniper from ACROSS THE MAP to a hight advantage location with a flanking and critical bonus and popped him with a sniper critical shot. All for 2 focus. Also, my actual templar didn't even move yet. Keep in mind, your ghost gets all the same abilities the templar does, make covers, amplifier, swaps, and even reaper + bladestorm. Basically, I highly recommend investing almost all xcom points into the templar, you only need one, and he'll be outrageously powerful
Side note, the lost are helpless if your templar gets bladestorm. I didn't even pay them any attention the whole ambush mission
Good catch Damien!
Tnx a lot for these guides, been learning much
ah but that's not how dodge works. A 100% dodge templar can still be hit, but the hits will graze and do only half damage. Dodge is still good but it's not the same thing as defense.
Still insanely strong
Where have you gone Mike? I love your videos. Especially your XCOM stuff. I’d love to see more. I watch this playlist almost daily.
Reaper, bladestorm, shadowstep and fortress on xcom abillities? Someone got lucky!
If only, hahaha. I used the "I'm the commander here" to make sure I got everything I wanted to illustrate what I consider a good Templar. Normally I'm happy if I get half or at least one of these things.
You cheetah!
Templars are insane. The moment you get to elite and spend some AP on reflect, deep focus and in case you got fortress, it's a freaking tank. The only unit I am not afraid of charging with into enemy lines and be even happy that I can leave him there.
Well, I'm still afraid of attacking mutons, even with a god like templar.
@@SK-gq8vi who you telling…. After all the hype I used my Templar to attack everyone and was feeling great until I charged a muton and he blocked and swung back with a crit… killing my Templar lol…. I chalked it up to me being ignorant about that ability though …. But I found out that a flash bang can disable that ability. So I’m more careful now
Very good tips!!! I think the templar is fairly complicated and your tips will really help!!
I'm really glad I could help!
These things are so satisfying to play. Much more my style than the reaper. Making very good use of mine.
Uhh I had to come here and see my mod (I'm the Commander here) being indirectly showcast :D. Nice going keep it up.
Haha, I am actually working on a sort of a mod spotlight and your mod will 100% be included. It's too goddamn good not to. But for the scope of this video, that's unfortunately all the attention I could give to each individual mod.
I've added the detailed information about your mod in the description. These videos would be much worse without the help of your mod, so that's the least I can do. Keep up the great work!
After you finished your showcast for mods I would like a link with the timestamp mine is highlighted, so I can add the link in the description of the mod for people to see.
You got it, brother, I will hit you up on the your mod page.
Thx in advance then :)
man i love your voice ..wtf such a nice accent . makes a 20 min vidio entertaining . keep it up
Ayyy, thanks. Much appreciated!
Invert is op against chosen final missions. You can just use it an everyone can light them up
mi clase favorita bro espero puedas mandarme un saludo en tu proximo video
Sure thing, hahaha
Templars with bladestorm are so much better than without it, the difference is the whole next level
I fkin love this class
I would also say Exchange is a good skill to have in case one of your other troops get surrounded.
i LOVE these mod
Wow you got bladestorm on your templar. So lucky
That Templar is God with those abilities. You are lucky.
I actually specifically manufactured these examples for the sake of demonstration, but I agree getting the right skills can make or break a templar.
That's not how dodge works. Dodge just increases chances for an attack to be a grazing hit for 50% damage. It doesn't affect the enemies ability to hit you.
I mean dodge is cool and all, but mobility is my personal fav. Since they don’t have grapples, I stack mobility and use PCS to be able to reach any enemy I need, plus very good with reaper.
Void Conduit might _seem_ underwhelming - and its humanoids-only target limitation _does_ make it frustratingly situational once you realise how powerful it really is - but against an Avatar (one of very, _very_ few powerful humanoids) it's downright _broken_ OP.
Against targets it actually works against, it's superior to (basic) Stasis, as it disables an enemy target _without_ rendering them invulnerable, lasts longer if you have two or more Focus, _and_ has lifesteal into the bargain.
Sadly, Firaxis was forced to cripple the ability because they couldn't get the animation to work with non-humanoids.
DOOPPEE VIDEEOOOS I WATCHED THEM MULTIPLE TIMESS!!!!!!!!!!
Considering templars are lead by Q, I'd say they're in good hands.
Best class late game. It does so many things, it takes out key enemies out of the fight simply rend/parry and the enemy will waste it's turn shooting your Templar for 0 damage. It takes Chosen out of cover, it saves flanked/revealed teammates, it does enormous AOE damage and it can clone itself.
The problem is this game is hard early and easy late. By the time your Templar is a GOD the game is basically over. And in the early game it's a liability not a asset. It will pull pods and wipe your team more often than it's worth.
Promote him through ring missions and make do without him. If you get bladestorm early keep him for ring ambush missions. His bladestorm can't miss, unlike the ranger, so park him on the red spot of the initial reinforcement pod and you are golden. It's always an officer and two troopers they will eat three bladestorms guaranteed. Even if all survive you can kill one, parry and have the teammate deal with the third. At worst you take one shot and that's if EVERYTHING goes wrong. After the initial pod enemy pods are single units and can be easily dealt with including Andromedons or Elite Mechs. You can have trouble with Mutons but bring a flashbang on him and one on the other soldier. There will never be more than two in the map and flashed Mutons can't retaliate.
I liked em because they're cool.
Now I know they're literally overpowered.
21:50 Is that respec button from a mod? Can you swap the random abilities for what you really want for an AP cost?
Yes, it is from a mod called "Im the Commander Here" it allows you to respec the skills and manipulate them in some other exciting ways.
Very informative video. Just a friendly reminder, dynamo is pronounced like “die no more” (which is what I intend to do now that I’ve watched your videos).
Man, that's really good hahahaha
Templar is good if you want to sit there and do nothing, if you want to actually kill aliens (and not pull 3 extra pods when you run in like a gimp) you need a ranger or a skirmisher. Unmodded skirmishers is the best dps in the game. Modded skirmisher (to make the abilities actually make sense and have cooldowns not charges) is just OP, a colonel can often solo force level 20 missions.
New drinking game: Let's watch QSTV and take a shot every time he says 'field of battle.' I got in a coma in less than 15 minutes! ;)
Field of battle. FATALITY
You should have some gameplay on the channel of the full-fledged templar.
If I find an opportunity, I will gladly do that.
Sound good at the end but dodge and defence are not the same. Dodge means you take reduced damage and defence lowers the chance to be hit. Cover gives defence points but no dodge.

Exchange is a free out of jail card. Got a flanking crit shot with a ranger? Hol up fam lemme bail you outta here! Or when you can switch places with your spark. Another funny stunt you can put off is to use a guy with a jetpack to jump into a pile of enemies , kill someone and then switch with a Templar so he can smack someone else and then parry
Shadow step is trash on templar due to the deflect ability
Templars can deflect reaction fire
FIVE TEMPLARS
ONE SPARK
IN THE EMPEROR'S NAME, LET NONE SURVIVE
I give my templars so much movement that they will hit an enemy then just get out of sight over and over till they die
Rather have lightning reflexes than shadowstep
Make the overwatch hit nothing and it's spent now.
The party doesn’t actually prevent all damage. The chosen “Hunter” can hit him with his sniper rifle
How did you have Reaper skill on the XCom tree? Mine doesn't have Reaper skill.
The bottom line of skills, just like it is for every other XCOM operative, is highly random and is not guaranteed to be what you'd want to have. You might have the Reaper, or you might have the Showdown, or maybe just a quick shot. You really have to get lucky.
Alternatively, you can get the mod called "I'm the Commander Here" that allows you to manually change the perks your characters have.
A templar only really becomes super powerful with the reaper skill.
Or Bladestorm. Or BOTH. But you meant to say braindead, haven't you?
I'm wondering, can the Templar still be viable if he DOESN'T have ANY of your XCOM abilities? Since, on the PS4 console it is completely random without mods - and you have no choice in that. I don't want to regret spending time on the Templar (even though I love the concept, aesthetic and style), when it wont work effectively without Bladestorm / reaper / fortress etc....
Yes, you can! But, the fewer of needed XCOM skills you have on your Templar, the more delicate you need to be in the way you use your Templar. It comes to a point that you would much rather use him in a utility role, rather than throw him at the enemy.
Templar is absolutely dependant on those skills if you want to use him like a hammer, but he doesn't need them if you can play around his weaknesses. With these skills, he's kind of a blunt object that is able to bludgeon things to death. Without correct XCOM skills, he's more like a Spear, powerful but delicate, and you must use him accordingly.
You really crucially need only the Bladestorm, others xcom skills are fine but not so much and heavy needed
If you really need Bladestorm just stick with Ranger. They are better in both close and mid range. Also good in long range with the Chosen shotgun, seems to hit as much as an assault rifle, but maybe cause I obsess over AIM. I find templars shine better with utility than being a front line protoss zealot. They don't even yell 'My life for earth/XCOM!"
If a Templar doesn't have
bladestorm or reaper either dismiss him or get them captured so you can get another
Explosions are blocked by Fortress, not Parry.
Hmmm, that name sounds familiar...Nexsy
Now who could that be. Huh...
at least i know im doing Templars right
6:00 wrong, not every attack is blocked.
Sniper chosen's abilities (tranq shot) got past my Parry and took my Templar down, spent an extra move right Infront of the lost trying to bring him back.
I've found that once you have 3 focus, parry, deflect, & reflect, dodge was not necessary and greatly preferred the higher movement. Templars are not just the best new class, they are the best class in the GAME.
Oh yeah, I understand. I also personally prefer mobility more, but then again I do on almost every class. But I think, objectively, considering that Templar often takes the role of havoc or a main tank having the extra protection to further reduce the chance to be hit is a good addition to the character in form of Covert Ops reward or PCS.
Helll no the reaper is by far the best class in the game
If you piller someone in triple cover (which is super super rare) you can trap then. Incradably niche, but funny. In my case I got the serpent king ruler so each time he had a reaction turn he was just stuck lol. He still shot...
That still shooting part sounds scary, but funny nonetheless. I didn't know you could trap people like that.
@@QuickSaveTV That's how it worked for me then, I'm trying to do it again but its impossible I feel without a PC. But it was hilarious in the moment though.
0:00 “Hello People Of The Earth.”?
ARE YOU A ALIEN YOU WERE MIND CONTROLLED AREN’T YOU?
No you
How to use exchange: your sniper or spec is flanked and your templar is in good cover for some reasons, and here you go, and advent flanking fucker finds himself fighting with your templar. Also yes, delivering rangers for a fancy double shot or reaping with katana and being obnoxious
i have ranger who have 110 dodge and if i put the snaky boi armor have insane dodge ez game
Aliens are probably complaining about balance after that one. Watch out for the reddit posts
Parry does not block explosions. I got a Templar killed trying to block a gatekeepers death explosion.
YES! There you go. Had this happen to me too. But he does stop SOME. I don't have a specific formula but gatekeeper's death detonation and sectopod's aoe attack do not work well with the Templar.
rasheedqe it blocks attacks not things coded as environmental explosions
Dude, this is sick! I love templar!
ONE question though. How do I decide what level of combat intellect my soldiers have? I mean, if you can do stuff like decide what kind of abilities they should have, surely there's a way to do that, right?
Because a templar with everything you just said PLUS a genius level intellect would be devastating.
And now, the obvious joke:
MY LIFE FOR AIUR!
There is a way to decide that, but I can't remember how. Also, you can pool your XCOM perks into one character if you do so desire. Typically it's a risky idea, though, because if you make a mistake and he falls - you lose.
@@QuickSaveTV I understand. Thank you very much.
If you remember, please tell me.
The last statment when u added the dodge is wrong. Low/High cover dosent give u dodge stats it gives u Defence stats. Dodge only come into play after the game calculates the defence stat. If u have your templar stay in high cover he gets a 40 extra def and the enemy shooting will get there aim reduced by 40. def only effects the enemys aim stats Should the in-game rng roll say u get hit then the dodge stat comes into play and another rng roll goes based on your caracters dodge stat and u could get hit for full dmg or dodge and get graced dmg same as the viper does when he dodges. No templar can get a base lvl of dodge higher then 50 without getting bonus dodge from special missions. 25 dodge from the implant and 25 dodge from lvl 3 focus = 50 dodge. defence and dodge do not stack with eachother. I know this is 3 years to late and templars are very powerful in melee but they have no way the amount of dodge/dmg avoidance u made them out to have. They have the capability to dodge nearly everything yes. But that is not reliable and your templar will suffer many hospital visits if played that way.
Templar seems super weak TBH. It's a one trick pony that can finish off wounded targets and parry one shot of incoming fire. The final storm ability is ok but the problem is I'm rarely in a situation where I have 3 focus points and my templar is in range and close enough to pop the storm on an untriggered group. My templar got cursed with the RNG gods and didn't get bladestorm halving his damage output. Played 50 missions and I haven't gotten the mission to recruit a second templar. Triggering a group is much more easly done with a shredstorm cannon or a basic grenade launcher since it's much easier to get into grenadelauncher range and not trigger the pod thus dispersing it.
Compared to my run and gun rangers which can cover half map in a single turn and then chainshot a sectopod into oblivion in the same turn and can bladestorm anything remaining that tries to bum rushthem. One of the godly ones has shredder, chainshot (the mid tier grenadier ability) and the final ranger ability that also fires twices and he's backed up with the skill that refunds AP on kill. He can run in from a mile away with run and gun use chain shot + refund to wipe in 1 or 2 adds and then use the final ability to take out the main boss in the pod. Sectopod or Gatekeeper usually. I usually take 2 rangers on each mission and they are always the MVP in the group.
Even my gunslingers can do amazing AOE damage with faceoff and lighting hands in the right situation. Snipers with serial are also amazing. Grenadiers I take on every mission there's always cover to blow up, a group that is begging to be aggroed with a shredding plasma grenade or a shredstorm cannon to decimate a really strong pod. The technicians are usefull as well combat protocol can kill guys at vast distances that you have no immediate way to get to.
My reapers just one shot all wounded enemies perfect behind the line scouting units. Every turn is a kill. The skirmisher is OK he can output decent DPS and can reposition himself and enemies. Not overpowered but certainly pulls his weight.
Templar without bladestorm is just sad. He can do 13ish damage per turnleaving himself exposed. I got fortress on mine so he can basically go at a sectopod and kill him in like 5 turns because of all the armour (without support) The ranger can easly do it in one or 2 turns since they are sometimes pumping out 20 damage crits.
Holy.Shit.
100% broken
First time I used this guy he dies 😂
You have to be rather delicate with your Templar. They are incredibly hard to kill, but not immortal.
Yoo me too always the first time i use him he dies
@@josuerocha1728 When he's a low level he's really squishy, stab someone and run for cover, every turn. Once he levels a few times he becomes deliciously overpowered.
Mine died too, what can I do to get another one?
Iker Martínez start over😂😂
why get dodge when u can get more mobility??? why even take damage?? damage reduction is way less important than templar mobility.
I don't care for this class. Their ranged attacks are weak and the melee tends to unintentionally activate new pods. Rangers share the templars' strenghts but don't have their weaknesses.
Not as good as psi ops???
I'd argue they are even, if not better.
Templar on beta strike it trash those
Just as an aside, if you don't mind, but you're pronouncing "dynamo" incorrectly. 🤓 It's actually pronounced as "DYE-nuh'moh." Your command of both the grammar & syntax specific to English, coupled with a not-at-all intrusive Russian accent (I think your accent is fuckin' dope, personally), combine to make you perfectly comprehensible to any native speaker of the language in question, certainly; given all that I've said so far, I figured that you'd want to know when you were making a small mistake so as to prevent making it again in the future. 🙂
Keep up the great work with the channel, man! I love all three of your videos about the new soldier archetypes in "War of the Chosen!"
Thanks a lot, Casey, for both kind words and the word advice! Much appreciated, I'll try to remember the correct pronouncuation :D
Biggest disappointment on next game was rolling pistol crap templar.
Yeah that's like... WHY?!
Try reduce your accent, use standard pronunciation and speak slowly.... im not an english native speaker...
The subtitles will help you
His accent is so annoyed, find so hard to understand.
