Some additional advice: as far as those, not exactly sure what you call them but the circular clips within the ears that help snug the alternator to the frame, most people use a hammer and that’s fine but remember if you break those ears you’re screwed, I would take a pair of vise grips and clamp down on the side of that clip closest to the front of the engine, if you clamp down pretty hard, it’ll make it much easier to tap through and won’t risk breaking the ears. If you tap those circular clips far enough forward, you should have zero problem getting the alternator in . If you have trouble getting the belt back on; the most common problem is people don’t crank the ratchet far enough to the passenger side side of the vehicle before they start their crank down to the driver side so with the biggest ratchet you can find start crank it left all the way possible and then take it down to the fan drive shaft, and that should be enough to get the belt on. Also, addressing somebody else’s question if you have not replaced your serpentine belt in a while, you might as well do it then because it’s really easy to put on you just have to fall the guide picture on your engine. Hopefully this address as the two most common problems. Also, for the guy who dropped a nut in his intake if you take a rag or paper, towel and stuff it in where the throttle body is, it’ll prevent things from going in there, and at the same time you can clean it if it’s dirty; The valve should be closed. iPad typing so verbiage is not the best but kudos to the guy who made this original video. Hopefully this helps the weekend mechanic warriors like myself.
Like your video the last guy i watched on RUclips Started out his video painting out a room And ended the video working on a truckYou are directly to the point 👍👍
This is exactly what I was looking for ! Needed to know how to get the big plug off of the alternator. You showed me every step I needed to do……awesome!
Great video. I would add a note that if you replace the original alternator with a 145 amp one, you need to install a new belt. For some reason, the belt needs to be just a hair longer with the 145 amp. I was scratching my head for a while trying to figure out why I could not get the belt back on.

Thank you for the video; Helped a lot. Disagree with removing the serpentine belt. Un-necessary.

+Kevin Tarnowski Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team. 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Was a good video could have been better if you actually mentioned what size sockets you were using for Everything.
Thanks for the video. I was able to change my alternator.
What size are the mounting bolts ??? I can’t seem to find the size
do you have to change the belt when you replace the alternator?
Do ya need to replace serpentine belt when replacing alternator?
+Theresa Koch Thanks for watching! As long as the belt is still in good condition you can reuse it.
I watched this video to find out what size the bolts were no dice
16mm was the size I used to remove the 2 bolts holding the alternator
I also used the same 16mm to loosen tension on serpentine belt
Great video! Thank you!
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much !
Thank you. Great job.
Perfect. 🍻

Love it !!
very poor shot of the tension assembly.
Agree. This step should have shown where the tension assembly is better and slower.
Why do we disconnect the battery?
Because it’s what literally charges your battery dingleberry
Dropped a nut in my intake blew my engine thanks a LOT BUD
bruh that sounds like your fault, should have gotten the bolt out of the mf intake
I broke off ear on mount w hammer😮
