    Unitas would be making 40 million a year today. He never cashed in on his fame. He was an amazing man. He signed a picture and a note to my dad while he was dying from prostate cancer in 1999. I buried it with him.

    WOW, he didn’t flinch or get startled when he heard how much it’s worth! This man has nerves of steel. He sounded so certain when he said it’s gonna stay in the family.

    On the air,they always say,"I'll never sell it",but afterwards,a few days,weeks,or months later,the appraisers frequently get a call saying,"Uhhhhh,I kinda sorta changed my mind".

    Had to check if my video was frozen because the dude had a face of stone when the appraiser said 40K-60K. Was he expecting more?

      me2525, I’m usually the same way, but his last comment of “it’s going to stay in the family” informed me why he didn’t care about the market value.

    The colts wouldn’t have left if not for the city. It’s not the players and fans that make decisions, it’s the owners and politicians

    • @mbbuckeyes8386
      @mbbuckeyes8386 3 года назад

      Agree. Our Browns left due to idiot owner - Art Modell and the city’s dufus mayor - Mike White. Took until this season to get some glory back.

    Hard to say what the memorabilia market will look like post covid as it is insanely bullish right now. Thought the fact that this is from one of the real greatest players ever and it's in that condition I think it would fetch 100k all day given the market right now. I would absolutely buy it at 60-80k, this will be worth far more in the future

    One of the things that mitigates against its value in my opinion is the fact there is no such thing as the Baltimore Colts anymore. The New York Yankees or the Dallas Cowboys. You can go back 50 or even 100 years and there’s this continuity. I think there are fewer collectors for teams that no longer exist like the St. Louis Brown’s or the New York Orioles - or the Baltimore Colts. A lot of ravens fans don’t even know anything about the Colts or care about them
