My dad used to take us kids there during school break back in late 60' more basic then. We used to see the fishermen with big fishing net on beaches early mornings catching all type of fishes ...lots of fond memories . Thanks for sharing your trip. Safe travelling.
I spent TET in VUNG TAU this year was a lot more busy ....great town ended up staying for ten days .I also saw Jesus ..many other religious statues on the other side of Vung Tau...caught the ferry back to Saigon sad to leave
So glad I came across your channel. I love your personality and how you present yourself and Vietnam in these travels! Best wishes on growing this channel!
I miss Vung Tau, it’s a nice and quick escape from Saigon. There are a few more spots to explore so maybe there is a part 2 ? Keep it up man, I like your videos !
fitting that there is a massive cannon there. Christian conversions in Asia were no joke. local indigenous faiths/beliefs/religion almost wiped out in places like india, korea, malaysia etc. thanks for taking us on your journeys
Yeah, primarily of Catholics. They been years for a long, long time. Evangelicals are making an inroad here especially in Hanoi and HCM city. How I know? I am an Aussie retiree living here since 2019 with my Vietnamese wife.
@@stanlee4765 I am not surprised. was travelling in south india recently. amazed at how even today conversions go on. Christian groups enter the country on a tourist visa and go the areas where local traditional faiths are still practised predominatntly. they try to convince the locals that their traditional ways are no good and that they will now be 'saved'. locals gifted TVs and microwaves, bibles and medicines etc. even in the north of india, the state of punjab which is the bedrock of SIkhism has not been spared christian conversions. The TV healer types whose mere touch seems like an electrocution that cures all ailments are super popular. Lot of $ to be made.

While you were praying inside that Pagoda, God has reminded you to buy a special padlock with chain for your front wheel bike, it only takes 2 seconds to steel the bike in Saigon, I have a few nicknames for your bike David... Blade, Cruiser, Turbo, Chopper... :)
God????? God reminded him about the bike lock???? Well he certainly forgot to remind me buying more toilet tissues...AND...also forgot to cure my dyarhea!!!!!
As mentioned Vung Tau is very low key and relaxed town, not much much happening anywhere and lack of western tourism, mainly for eating and drinking. Recommended to head for example to Nha Trang for more activities and city vibes.
I think I’m used to the food, so if your not you might have issues. I’d try to get food that always hot, that seems to help over food that’s been sitting there for a bit
You have a great camera, no shaking so no headache watching your adventure!
My hometown...beautiful place it is!!!
