this was the probably best version of play for nature most of them are virtuoses of their instruments that what makes this work incredible the transition with the flute guy (Serdar Barçin) is flawless my personal favourite

Okey quick trivia for you guys (once you have shown interest in learning some Turkish words along with their pronunciation). The letter "C" in Turkish is pronounced "g" as in "george". Whenever it takes the lower punctuation (Ç) like the name "Elif Çağlar" at (11:56) then its pronunciation goes like "Ch" as in "chalk". I hope this trivia would help you better pronounce Turkish words containing "C" consonant.

    Hey Bridget!
(12:25) That istrument is called "Tar". Tar is an Iranian long-necked, waisted lute family instrument, used by many cultures and countries including Iran, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Georgia, Tajikistan ( Iranian Plateau) and others near the Caucasus and Central Asia regions (Wikipedia definition). You are right it is a cool instrument and you know what Azerbaijani musicians are the best at it. 👍

Merhaba dostum.

There are many instruments in turkey becouse of our origins! Our territories are governed by persians, ancient greeks, arabians etc. After 1071 turks came the anatolian and we are in now. In these cultural background. North has different taste of music, east has different and west/south different. This is a small story but during these years turks start to use different instruments to get all notes. Quarter notes half-quarter notes which only uses iran and india.. our most string instruments have no flat. Thats why we can get unusual notes. Sure our popular culture is same with rest of the world but our anonymus songs are all based these kind of unusual notes.
The kung fu instrument :) is kanun check that also too. They are mostly used in ottoman era. Sure we still use it.

9:50 Kemençe This musical instrument is generally used with folk dances in the northern regions of Turkey. These dances are called "horon". Many musical instruments are used together with folk dances in Turkey. We have many and varied folk dances.
You are so right in your comment in the video. There are many musical instruments and young talents in Turkey. So these people are not educated, but they traditionally have musical knowledge. Cultural transfer is very rich in Turkey.I want to give you an example: ruclips.net/video/_e2T14RNvVE/видео.html&ab_channel=MEHMETYILDIRIM
The boy in this video continues a thousands of years old tradition of Turks. There is a technique called "Şelpe". These people generally live as minorities in Turkey and are different from normal Muslims. They live a synthesis of Shamanism and Islam, the ancient religion of the Turks. They are currently continuing the techniques of playing musical instruments used by the Turks before Islam. They are Muslims but a different sect. And this technique is traditionally handed down from generation to generation in this sect. If this musical instrument and musician does not exist, they cannot perform their worship. Music and musicians are needed for the ritual to take place. This musical instrument is the most important part of the ritual. A legacy from shamanism. This cultural value has also been added to the UNESCO heritage list:

12:39 It was indeed. Until 5-10 years ago. Street music culture is almost dead now. It was destroyed by the government. But thanks to the Municipality of Istanbul, which is managed by an opposition party, subways and ferries keep welcoming street musicians even more now.
Btw, some of the performers are not musicians let alone being professional ones - they are celebrities such as actors.

    Hi Bridget!
You are way off (1:05) the true pronunciation of the name "Doğa İçin Çal". But hey, I am here to teach you how to do it right in Turkish. If you pronounce the following phrase "Dougha Ichin Chal" in English then you have said it right in Turkish as close as possible. However you may also want to add the episode number (3) at the end, so you would say the whole title as "Dougha Ichin Chal uuchh". Now go ahead and practice it on your own and let me know if it works! By the way, "Doğa için Çal" in Turkish means "Play for Nature" in English (as you probably have known it already).
    Cheers!
