Someone brought one of these to me about a year ago. I explained that unless it had sentimental value to them that their money was better spent elsewhere, they were using theirs as an actual turntable with it outputing to a receiver with much bigger speakers. Don’t want to tell people how to spend their money, but sheesh. They ended up buying an extra Philips GA 312 table I had. Probably wasn’t too much more than what it would have cost to repair the Crosley
Do you think it is possible to rewire to better speakers? Being that it has no audio export Im sure its possible just would be the first project of this kind for me.
Yes, you could disconnect the built in speakers and connect the leads to better quality speakers. Keep in mind that higher quality speakers do require much more power for better sound.
K Tel records are now collectible in Australia, especially the top 40 compilations. But I would NOT play them on this "record player"....Crosley was a major refrigeration manufacturer in Aus, hi Quality and now collectible also.
I am Aussie and have never heard of Crosley as a refrigeration manufacturer in my 50+ years of existence. I've heard of Westinghouse being a fridge / dryer / washing machine maker in Australia.
@@RoughJustice2k18 That's ok. There are probably at least six things you have never heard of....."Crosley Shelvadoor"...mum had one and a Hallstrom Silent Knight....we even had a fridge made by General Motors Holden's it had badges a little bit like the cars. Google Images can be invaluable.
There's A Program For Your Android Phone Called "RPM Calculator". You Can Put A Roll Of Masking Tape Over The Center Spindle So That Your Phone Will Set Level And Start The Program To See Exactly What The RPM's Are For Each Speed And Set The Speed Accordingly.
Thanks so much you helped me get my record player working after sitting broken for years!
Thanks! You showed how to get the belt back on. Excellent video!
To get the turntable to turn you must move the needle the opposite way of the turntable.
Thanks so much for sharing this! Easy fix
Crosley, radiotvphononut's favorite record player
Shango hates Crosley.
Shango66? That Shango?
@@norcal715 Yep the one and only shango066.
I watch every video he puts out. Great content.

A Crosley from 2001? I'm surprised it hasn't disintegrated into dust by now 😅
Anything sticky or oily around here picks up kitty fur lol

For speed check I use a neon light, how is you light doing it ? thought only a neon 60hz light would work,to make lines stop turning
An Led light with a slight modification works better than a neon and is 100's times brighter (and white, not orange)

It's an old album I have had kicking around for decades. It's been played on far worse players than this one.

I will download it. Thank you!
I can hear the power of mine but the motor just won’t spin
I just love name brand equipment. 🙄
Right! NOT!
Anytime you see a record player with built in speakers, well, nothing more to say.
All I can afford.
