      San Diego is nice but REALLY expensive. The cheaper apartments will run you close to $1,500/month and those are the ones that were built in the 80's but renovated recently. A newer apartment will cost you $2,000/month average; home prices average $600,000. Move to DFW... I plan to move to Dallas once I pass my CPA exams.

Plenty of alternate routes too. Many cities really have 1 option to get from A to B. Dallas has several N - S, E-W and loops

I moved here 18 years ago and I love it! I wish you would have hit on the Arts District. So great! From BTW School for PA, to The Wylie,Myerson. City Performance Hall, and Winspear, The DMA. Such a vibrant community and Klyde Warren Park, not to mention Music Hall , The African American History Museum (THE STATE FAIR of TEXAS!!!), THE perot Museum. AND SPORTS?! Oh yeah! EVERYTHING you could possibly want! Especially now that The Dallas Wings are in full force! And yeah, we have a pretty decent amusement park (6F). I live in north Dallas too. Although I hear gunfire at least 3 times a month. I still feel safer here than some other areas. And don't forget ALL the restaurant spaces, esp in Addison! As far as dating sites, girl, stay away. You can always find quality people in almost every area of The Metroplex. I wish you well, and hope you continue to prosper.

      Public Transportation is good here..it just doesn't hit the Big attraction areas.
      Train systems to choose from are:
      DART
      DCTA
      TexRail
      TRE
      The subway in Dallas is great too.
      Public transportation is actually getting better.
      Over the past 2-3months traffic has really decreased..because The train and bus routes have increased.
      Dallas is also getting a bullet train in the coming years..it'll really help with Traffic.

      It took some searching and the market has changed since last summer, but really think about what you’re willing to sacrifice! All my searching was done through apartments.com & apartment list. I didn’t even physically tour apartments, when I found one with what I wanted, in my budget and a good area, I went for it. Also, many apartments host move in specials where a first month of rent is free or you can prorate it across your lease term. That also helps in getting your preferences within your budget!

    I've been considering moving to Dallas for a little while and have looked up a few different areas in Dallas. I do plan on visiting in the near future to get a good feel for it. What do you think of the Deep Ellum area? It seems like a desirable area to live in, with a great night life and tons of restaurants. Definitely seems like my kind of area. The cost of living there is definitely higher than many other areas, but understandable due to the nightlife. As far as traffic is concerned, I've dealt with Miami traffic before (horrible traffic and some of the most aggressive drivers I've ever encountered), so hopefully I can handle Dallas traffic. :)

I do want to visit NYC just because I think it is a totally different world then DFW! I would love to see how other people in this great country live. I lived in St Pete and I can tell you city wise, Id prefer Dallas. Tampa was even better than St Pete I thought. Pinellas has some trails and good outdoors but other than that, I wouldn't go with it outside of select towns/areas. Largo and St Pete though, no. But to me Dallas and Tampa is a close decision. Irving might be like Bradenton. Seems so.

    • @shereelorraine1
      @shereelorraine1 4 года назад

      @@LongLeggedOne thank you for your input! I work in St Pete and I agree that it has a lot of outdoorsy things to do, but that's about it. I plan on visiting Dallas next month to check it out and plan on moving probably within the next 6 months.

    • @LongLeggedOne
      @LongLeggedOne 4 года назад +1

      @@shereelorraine1 Yea to me, a place that focuses on the outdoors is more a new thing. More places have been doing that.. its not good when people need to work though as everythings all about the trails and less to do with social or work. I am currently in Portland OR right now, and this is about the worst place I ever lived in for depression and snobs. St Pete is pretty depressed too although much nicer weather and beaches. I just don't do well in these kinda places. Even Sarasota is for rich retirees and yuppies. And on a final note, I decided to not go to Vegas, was considering but did not. Looks like Dallas is the front runner for me.

By the time the weekend gets here I don't want to go anywhere I just want to be home away from sitting in traffic trying to go somewhere , the cost of living is going up too compared to 9 years ago when I moved here . Considering moving back to Louisana on the outskirts of town within the next few years , It has been nice for my children they are all grown now so they will most likely stay here but I am ready to go lol ... tired of the commute of an hour trying to get to work .
