I have to say, I came across this video on Amazon. I bought these lid stays/soft close hinges for my son’s toy box. I have yet to install but this video helped me to understand wtf is going on way better than the directions. So I thank you for posting!
I like this video showing how to attach the bottom piece, because I used the template that came with my hinge and it was too high on the side to close at all. I had to use the bottom holes and drill two LOWER holes to get it to close. Turned into a time consuming project. Thank you for your video!! Mine still slams closed, so I really do need one on each side like you did.
To the person searching the comments for additional clarification (like I did), just do as he says. You’re probably overthinking it (like I did). He did a perfect job of making it simple and easy.
Those instructions for the manufacturer made it look like a degree in engineering is needed to install these. I am glad the video helped simplify installation.
We did this hinge on an angled art box. We did the little piece first, as you did, then guessed at the second round piece because of the angle. It worked!!!! We have no idea how we got it right! It barely grazes the bottom of the box...and because of the angle of the box and the desire for a 105* opening, we are just lucky!!!
Thanks for the video. I was not figuring out the measurements for the hardware placements from the printed instructions. The instructions may have changed in 2 years but I did not find a chart for measurement A. My hinge pivot line is the same as yours on my toybox, so your measurements worked for me. The soft closers are great but their instructions stink.
Gotta make a toy box for my great granddaughter and knew I needed something like this. Used both your links to get the lid supports AND the little ruler. Thanks for the video! I may have to refer to it again when I get it built. :)
I'm so excited! I just ordered these for two chests that were given to me. I refinished them for toy boxes for my grandson and a storage chest, but Ive been looking everywhere for the right soft close hinges. Youre my hero!!! Do I need regular hinges as well? I noticed that you have them on the back of yours as well.
bought these fancy closers then promptly lost the little instruction card. I cant find the actual instructions to get the measurements ANYWHERE. My toy box isn't exactly like yours and the markings on the bracket isn't self explanatory......... can anybody post a picture of the morinbo lid stay 105?
I got some model/batch that has impossible directions. I'm not a Japanese kid who learned trigonometry at 6 years old. I'm an American with half a learning disability 🤣 My diagrams just have literally like 40 angles per picture with numbers from 9 to 157.3..... I didn't grt these "A, B, C" measurement ones 😆😆😆😆
Hi roughly what are dimensions of your lid?? I installed these on my toy box and they hold back just a little towards the top end but give out and let it slam when lid is about half way closed. My lid is roughly 20 inches deep by 45 inches long. Thanks for your time

Thank you for the positive feedback! Those instructions that came with it way over complicates how to install them.
Thank you for watching.
Watched 4 of these, as the instructions that came with the product are horrendous. Your video was the most informative. Thanks.
I'm happy that it helped you, thank you for watching!

Thank you! The instructions that come with them make it look like you need a degree in nuclear physics to install them.
thanks, I was getting really confused with my instructions, but you cleared it right up. Not nearly as complicated as i thought.

Instructions it came with.... well, let's just say that I didn't have a microscope to view. This was very helpful. Thanks a million.
Lollll mine seriously came in Japanese..
By far the best video. Followed these directions and got it, first try. A miracle!
I am happy that it helped! Thanks for watching.
You just saved my sanity. THANK YOU!
You're welcome. Those instructions that came with it made it look insanely difficult.

- THanx for the demo. It's the closest to being a "how to install." Clear, concise info. Thanx 4 sharing.
Ty for making this. My father in law made a great toy box for my kids but the shocks he had sucked and didn't work. These work great.
Glad that it helped!

Thanks for posting this, made install so much easier!
Do I need the hinges on the back after I install them. Unable to find them 2.3 wide. 3.5 long

Looking to install on a sheet metal lid.
Wasn't you had shown lid closing when finished..but video does help
It is shown in the intro.

How did you determine the angle of the spring?
Can’t find the old hinges. With these do I need the ones on the back?
Yes you do need hinges too. I used standards piano type hinges.

Hi thanks ...looks like my directions are incomplete. Ripped in half ...Any chance that you can post a pdf of yours? If not no worries
Sorry, I tosses it. Honestly it confused me more than it helped.

Mine is 34" x 20" x 3/4". I have it set on close to the lightest setting.
Wish you had a picture of the bottom part in hung the right left positioning is confusing in your explanation
What if the lid closes too quickly after installing it?
I wasn't as clear on that I could have been. Try adjusting the screw shown at 9:06
how much does the lid weigh?
Thanks
Not much, 5 - 10lbs or so.
@@TwoKeysStudio got it thanks
great vid sir. thank you
Very welcome
Thanks for sharing your informative video. Do these hinges assist in opening the lid?
Thanks
A slight bit, but mainly they just slow the closing.
Thanks for this. Did it on my first try. The instructions are complete garbage.
Is the round base part meant to rotate i cant get mine to. Thanks.
