I adore your work. Thank you for sharing.
Hildegard would look fabulous with a few whisps of pink hair although when I was a kid a long time ago a lot of older women with grey hair had a bluish tinge in their hair. I like the seeds in the seed pod. I thought maybe small buttons but the seed beads are just right for the seeds.
Ah, yes; the blue-haired old ladies. 😉 Hildy is due for a complete makeover, and wisps may be in the works. We'll see what she's up for. ☺
I love how it's looking. I didn't even think about the beads needing to wait until after you had quilted it until you mentioned it. Love the mixture of different colour and sized seeds. I think you definitely need some green embroidery in the blue of the seed pod, but maybe that should also wait until you've quilted it 😃
Thanks, Michelle! There will lots of embellishment going on in the future..☺
I'm with you on the world is a lot right now. To keep sane I have created 2 quilts in the last 3 weeks. Keeps my soul happy. Love these fun blocks!
I have been reading a lot of books to keep sane!
@claudiawarren6053 me, too.
Quilting (and other arts) cane save our sanity, for sure!
I am learning to enjoy 'raw-appilquee' as I make my 'neighborhood' piece. You told me once 'not to fear it'. I don't now. Thank you!
Yea for raw edge applique!
I like it!
Thank you, Claudia! ❤
I keep wondering about the direction the seeds are falling as opposed to where the stem originates. Not a big deal, just an observation. It is lovely even so!
Tell me more about that, please! Honestly, I didn't really think about it, and now I'm curious (I love to learn!!), how would they actually fall in nature?
The Beading makes it..great idea ! How are you attaching the beads ?
I'm using an invisible poly thread by Superior Threads, threading through each bead twice, and taking a tack stitch after each to keep them more secure.
Throw a blue in those seeds...just sayin'...
Ooo.... I like the way you think...🤔
