Love these interviews so far. Great job conducting them. If you ever want to hear from a current Masters student (non-PhD program) who taught HS for 8 years before going back to school, I’d be happy to jump on and discuss!
Mr. M seems to be good at time management. It’s nice to listen to someone who is more interested in teaching than in research. I myself am more interested in research, although I want to do some teaching too. It’s good that there are people who want to be professional teachers of undergraduate mathematics.
The way I like to think about impostor syndrome is that it's just my ego getting in the way of what matters, and that is learning about the subject you love. The subject should come before my need to be the best.
I hope you can explain to us how to enroll in graduate studies for foreign students at your university and how to get a scholarship. I have a master’s degree in mechanics and mathematics and I hope to get a PhD in number theory.
@@omargaber3122 I think in most case, if you are offered a PhD in math at a US university, it is likely that you will get a TAs position as well. This is in some sense a kind of a scholarship - except that you work and get paid =)).
Hey, great interview. I am currently in dilemma where I can’t decide if I should major in math or not and I would love to hear your advice or thoughts on this. On the one hand, I am passionate about mathematics (more than just school: olympiads, proofs etc.) and I am doing pretty well too. On the other hand, I definitely don’t see myself as a future mathematician going into science, but rather I want to be an entrepreneur (hopefully in a niche where I can apply mathematics), and going into math feels just a little wrong , although I have a strong feeling that I will enjoy studying mathematics What are your thoughts on math applications IN business and FOR business. Love from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 ❤
I would look into applied mathematics or maybe getting a degree in engineering. You will likely have more options with these degrees than with a degree in pure math.
Just a suggestion! It would be cool to have a random background video, maybe of the room? or outside your window? . . . . just something visual, it looks very nice ^__^
Let’s interview some Physicists
No, enough physicists on RUclips.

Extremely helpful thank you for posting this
Loving these vids. Feels like I’m in the department (without doing the math ofc)
Wow. This is really interesting.
Great video!

I think you would simply apply.
@@TheoremsAndDreams I don't think so. There are high costs and difficult requirements. I would like to get a scholarship
