I've been virtually friendless since I was 22 as well. The past 5 years have been some of the most peaceful and fulfilling years of my life. I found my peace when I learned to let go. I've had people come and go throughout that time, but all it did was teach me that those people weren't truly my friends. I had something to offer them. It made me realize that my companionship was worth something to them, and theirs was worth very little to me. It takes a long time to find people whose companionship makes you feel appreciated and loved. Those are the people you should be searching for. Find people who have similar interests as you and whose personal moral values align closely with yours. Those are the individuals who will fill your life with love, appreciation, and joy. Until then, just try to learn to love yourself. Nobody else can love you if you don't love yourself first. The rest will come. Life has so many incredible things to show us. Not all of those things can be found through others. You're not alone, brother. Don't stress it too much.
