To use schematics, have the schematic in your inventory and then use one of the workbenches. There are different "grades" of schematics so keep your eye open for those. With regard to incubating eggs, the different types are affected by temperature (too hot, too cold effects how long it takes to hatch).
I'm gonna leave it for now. It doesn't seem to be an issue at the moment. I've seen some people complain about the larger eggs so I'll see when I get there.

So for any pal summoned by an item, if you give the command to not attack it will allow you to capture without accidental kills
