Just in case anyone is having difficulties or is unaware of changes, to Respawn to different locations you have to have multiplayer on even if you are playing solo.
I'd add that it's easier to get the Fisherman's Point teleport before you build your first base. As you're traveling along the beach, you can build a base to use as a respawn point. As you get further along, you can open your map, disassemble your previous base using the V key, then rebuild it further along for a new checkpoint. Really helpful in case the mobs kill you so you don't have to run the whole way from the initial teleport.
Update: 1. To access all respawn locations, turn on multiplayer. Offline will not work. This does not mean you have to play with someone, just that multiplayer is on even if you are playing solo. 2. The second black marketeer location does not work anymore. The hanging trap will not place. Instead, use the first one. 3. To respawn the black marketeer, go back to the main menu and turn off multiplayer. Then, every time you kill the black marketeer, go back to the main menu to refresh the game and get him to spawn again. (Remember, you have to hit him a few times to get the contribution for the gold.)
Nah going to offline mode and just quitting and going back in is busted. I hope they don't patch stuff like this because it's only gonna happen if you're actually trying to make it happen. Ohh yeah still works as of December 2nd 2024.
If anyone is struggling finding the huge dragon egg on the volcano. Go north to the ruined fortress city. Tons of eggs in the open all in one condensed area. Grab them all, reset your game and you’ll find it faster than just flying around the lava for an hour
BIG TIP: To respawn the Black Marketeer, just return to the main menu and reload the game. 100% garanteed respawn even on the first place shown on the video, no return to base or suicide needed.
@@eriqco2 personally I tried and the first time I returned to the title screen while being next to him and it didn't work, I returned to my base and only after that I returned to the title screen and since then it respawned 100% again. every time I go back (to make it short, don't disconnect next to him)

I got a random Huge Dragon Egg on my first blind playthrough, and got the Jormuntide Ignis as basically my starting Kindling Pal, and it ruined every subsequent playthrough for me, lol. This is good advice to grab it early on.
Great showcase, though I wonder if you pursued too many objectives early on in the process. You could skip the whole base + Vixy trick early on and use the palbox to get to the fisherman's village right away. Alternatively you could lean into the vixy and just power level to 15 and get a nightwing, then fly over the same path without the headache. Likewise, if you wanted to skip getting the Qivern you could Anubis + Vanywrm = Faleris + Lyleen = Jorm. With the recent breeding addition a Jorm + blazehowl = Jorm Ignis so its a lot easier than hunting for the egg. You could go direct with Azurobe + Eikthydeer = Blazehowl, or if you want to pick up the best cooling pal in the process you could go Relax + Tanzee = Foxicle + Vanwyrm = *Van cryst* + Chillet = Blazehowl. dealers choice. A lot of folks worry about breeding with Relax as the Glutton trait gets passed on however if you take a quick detour and breed 2x Relax together its about a 50/50 that you will get one without glutton. It might be worth investing ~3 cakes at the start of the process to save the food cost down the line.
Alternatively to going to town whenever you need to buy the cake materials, get a ton of spheres, catch him, then put him in your base whenever you need to buy stuff, then swap him back out, or just have him in your party I guess.
What I do is buy a bunch of mega spheres then catch all 3 merchants. Just keep throwing spheres and rolling around until you get them. Then you will have all 3 merchants to use at your base.
@@acefenyx2745 You need to Respawn at a separate base or Fast Travel beacon, and then fast travel to the one you've setup next to the Marketeer. If you just respawn directly at the base it doesn't reload the area, and so he doesn't respawn.
A tip to get the black market trader spawning reliably is it going to the dungeon nearby on all the testing I’ve done it spawns in like 75% of all time also you have to complete the dungeon
The weird thing is by playing the game normally at level 24 I was able to get 3 of those just by myself and playing normally and smart. I know it's not level 20 with all 4 of them but I think it's not a huge difference. Some tips were pretty good to know but others just feel unnecessary.
The so far “guaranteed” method for the first marketeer that has worked for me(PC) is 1. respawning 2. picking a point that’s decently far and has a close by fast travel(forgotten island is what I use) 3. Going to title screen and loading back in 4. Fast travel back to base and repeat. Also you don’t have to constantly hit him either a few will count as your kill, but it will slow down the process but not by a significant margin
The wild eggs tip is really good, you can also get alpha pals from them. I got Penking and Bushi from eggs really early (before being able to fight them), just by picking every egg I could find and hatching them in the incubator Also, caves are really good if you need a lot of paldium fragments, there are big nodes with around 3~4x more paldium than the small nodes, you can easily get 60~100 paldium fragments in a single cave. There's also (usually) nice loot in caves
For anyone having issues with the black marketeer not appearing outside the hillside cavern close to the Penking boss, exiting to the title screen and loading back into the save worked on PC. Then after burning him, run south a little past the cavern and exit to title screen again. he should be back up when you load back in. The BMs inside camps dont seem to work after the last patch since you can no longer build near them, but this guy at the hillside cavern doesnt have a camp and still worked for me on PC. Hope this helps someone. Edit: This didn't work 100% of my reloads. A few times I had to exit and reload a second time for him to respawn. May have just been standing too close. IDK.
I'm currently level 39 and i have. Caught all the boss pals including jetragon, frostalion etc. And now the game just kinda feels boring. Anyone knows any fun things to do?
its in early access meaning the official game relase willl take time and by that time it will have many more pals,a lot of things to do maybe even storyline and maybe levels upto 200, as for now if u get bored then create a new world
@SbkJay98 they're still working on it. There should be a huge update after the bs lawsuit is won. It sucks though because after you level cap the game really comes to a screeching halt, but like you said it's early acess.. I think version 0.4xx.. so there's a long way to go.
Nah I'm doing the one in the cave fine still. Best way to catch is set hanging trap in centre of him then you just start spaaimg square or x (if on console while your slowly walking foward. Trap wants to be behind him
I just turned the EXP rate in the world settings to maximum, since I didn’t want to deal with the early game grind. I hate having to walk everywhere, so I speed ran the game until I unlocked my nitewing saddle so that I can fly. After I hit level 16, I immediately flew to Fisherman’s Point to get the supplies mentioned in the video. Then I started farming the black marketeer for gold.
I usually just use Direhowl for that. I use Direhowl, and with the update, I use Dazemu over Vanwyrm most times. Only resorting to flying mounts when I unlock Beakon. By that point, I'm exploring volcanos, deserts, and tundras. But like...you'll catch me exploring Sakurajima at level 1 for those Legendary spheres and getting myself nearly killed by Croajiros 😂

I just watched that video and both of these videos have similar tips, but there is often overlap between content creators who make videos on a lot of the same topics. I have no problem giving credit where it’s due if you’ve seen my previous videos.
Hey they updated Jormintide Ignis's breeding chart you can now get him by breeding a Jormintide and a Blazehowl. And getting a Blazehowl is super easy to just breed the Celeray with the Anubis you breed. Or if you're like me and don't want glutton from Relaxaurus you can also breed the Jormintide with a Rushoar. Because the spawn chance for the Huge Dragon Egg is 0.3% I know this because I spent a day flying around on Vanwyrm looking for the egg and never found it, so I looked it up, just to end up catching and breeding a Blazehowl. Skip the egg step if you're unlucky like me you'll waste a ton of time.
Your second base was my first base i ever made i thought it would be cool being able to build above your base on those rocks above and btw u can and then learned that there is a black marketeir there ( this was day 1 of game release ) still best location imo to this day.
so from what i can tell the hanging trap and campfire method doesn't work anymore at least in the abandoned mine cave. the game considers that to be too close to a special boss or facility and wont let you build anything. the first one he showed still works tho so theres that
@@treygraphicsfte6747no need to use trap, just lure him up to a covered structure and build a lot of fireplace beside him then start attacking him just make sure you lock him up with the wood structures do it every spawn
The part with the egg for jourmuntide Innis no longer seems to work EDIT: OK shortly after posting this comment it worked but I found it deep near the center of Mount obsidian. Also I would recommend having a bed handy at base to help pass in-game time.
Great video, thank you, only thing for me as Console player not sure if anyone else experiences this but doing the trap/campfire trick on the merchants only works for me at the first player one location, the second one in the cave it doesn’t let me build anywhere there maybe because of all the structures around him? but i can only hang them up in the open area. Anyone else notice this or know a way to make the builds work in that cave? I didnt move my base from the first build area so is it not having a palbox close by not letting me or what?
I thought this game was going to be some stupid , weird trend. I traded a friend an indy game he wanted for a copy on release and last weekend i logged un fir the first time. I've been hooked since. If they added fishing and eirher fixed the carry weight or the weight of items to a more manageable system , and maybe start adding more pals and zonez more regularly , id probably never be able to put it down. Already just bought a steamdeck just to play it in the go, lol
The devs put a lot of love into this game. I wish it was the sort of game where you could complete a storyline and everything like in Legends Arceus, but in terms of gameplay, this game does an incredible job of being satisfying and letting you play with friends.
It does work solo and for the first base location I found a way to make the black market guy to respawn 100% of the time honestly just completely close your game and he should respawn
Clever strat, but it's not as effective as you think. If you rush it to your base location (the one you picked is great but not required now you can just build ore station). Build Vixy farm there and just catch all PALs around you in the time you have gotten the money/gun/ammo you would most likely be around lvl20-30 looking for Jourmuntide Ignis egg. Especially that trek to Fisherman Vilage on foot without mount is just an overkill. You can just grab it when you get a fly mount and farm the gold for a gun if you really feel you need it.
I'm reading the time stamps, and I noticed that the section on respawning to get some early FT/TP(not TP for Cornholio 😆) says **PATCHED; what was patched?
Just a head's up for the Gold Farm, in the intervening months PocketPair seems to have updated all of the cave systems to count as Specialty/Boss Zones, so you can't build in them anymore. So you can't use the Black Marketeer in the cave under the Desolate Church, since you can't build the trap or the campfire. The other two in the video are fully free to kill at your leisure though, so just use one of those.
IM not sure, as ive not tested it myself, but you can start the server on multiplayer, and go to all the fast travel locations, then change it to single player. (again I'm not sure but its worth a try).
I think they patched that out so you can't just teleport around the whole map and have to build and explore. I tried it too and get the same thing, only the Plateau of Beginnings is available and then my base once I build it.
I don't know did the creators fix this but am not being able to place campfire under the hanging trap . please could you tell me another way to kill him ??
Just got started playing solo because my internet is trash for online multi-player in the countryside. The respawn tactic doesn't work anymore on Xbox Series X if anyone sees this.
i wanted to say , that there is one thing to keep in mind. There are Vanwyrms a little to the north west on the landway to were the Boss Bushi is starting from the little village. these Birds spawn at L10-12 and are way better then nightwing plus they are the parent animal with anubis to the 2nd best bird in the game , because it is the 2nd fastest and it has melting 3 + transport 3. i would not waste any resources into nitewing , it realy sucks xD
Playing a bit here and there for a while I recommend also getting a Nitewing as soon as possible. Not so much for riding though they are really strong starting combat pals. They have really strong moves and are agile. If not at least being good from beginning to mid game they might even be somewhat viable to end game. Just make sure you are doing your share of the work. Maybe having some Daedreams following you around to add dps to you as well. In the beginning you can't get enough dps it seems like. Just thought I would offer something a little less knowledge dependent and something everyone can aim for early on. There are also some that just won't vibe well with this video because of the mechanic exploiting and going against the "intended" way of playing.
If you're not sure how a word is pronounced type it into google translator and hit the speaker button (making sure language is correct). I figured it out that you need to set the world to multiplayer, I think they took it off for solo for idk for what reason but after you get the respawn locations you can keep it off or on, I’m doing solo so I turned off multiplayer after I got the locations
Early game for money you can make a base with a ton of berries and then bake them and sell them you can do it almost instantly later I add a metal farm then smelt and craft nails sell em both and you will never need money again
Patching isn’t necessary! This is all just smart thinking, no cheating involved. However, if it’s your first playthrough I recommend just having fun and doing what you want to do!
Yes it does but only certain buys can get caught in a trap the one one the north east side still works, but sometimes they just don’t die so you need to die before you can kill him.
@JR-dv9kz not at first. Exit to title, then before you enter your world, change it from solo to multi-player in the settings. Apparently they removed it for single player but left it in for multi-player

in case you didnt know you can also go back to title after you have killed the black market guy it'll respawn him even if you right next to him

U cant trap the black market guy in the second location it wont allow you to place it at all in the cave

Nah I'm doing the one in the cave fine still. Best way to catch is set hanging trap in centre of him then you just start spaaimg square or x (if on console while your slowly walking foward. Trap wants to be behind him
I just turned the EXP rate in the world settings to maximum, since I didn’t want to deal with the early game grind. I hate having to walk everywhere, so I speed ran the game until I unlocked my nitewing saddle so that I can fly. After I hit level 16, I immediately flew to Fisherman’s Point to get the supplies mentioned in the video. Then I started farming the black marketeer for gold.
I usually just use Direhowl for that.
I use Direhowl, and with the update, I use Dazemu over Vanwyrm most times. Only resorting to flying mounts when I unlock Beakon. By that point, I'm exploring volcanos, deserts, and tundras.
But like...you'll catch me exploring Sakurajima at level 1 for those Legendary spheres and getting myself nearly killed by Croajiros 😂

I just watched that video and both of these videos have similar tips, but there is often overlap between content creators who make videos on a lot of the same topics. I have no problem giving credit where it’s due if you’ve seen my previous videos.

Hey they updated Jormintide Ignis's breeding chart you can now get him by breeding a Jormintide and a Blazehowl. And getting a Blazehowl is super easy to just breed the Celeray with the Anubis you breed. Or if you're like me and don't want glutton from Relaxaurus you can also breed the Jormintide with a Rushoar. Because the spawn chance for the Huge Dragon Egg is 0.3% I know this because I spent a day flying around on Vanwyrm looking for the egg and never found it, so I looked it up, just to end up catching and breeding a Blazehowl. Skip the egg step if you're unlucky like me you'll waste a ton of time.
You can get blazehowl with penking+malpaca
Your second base was my first base i ever made i thought it would be cool being able to build above your base on those rocks above and btw u can and then learned that there is a black marketeir there ( this was day 1 of game release ) still best location imo to this day.

so from what i can tell the hanging trap and campfire method doesn't work anymore at least in the abandoned mine cave. the game considers that to be too close to a special boss or facility and wont let you build anything. the first one he showed still works tho so theres that

@@treygraphicsfte6747no need to use trap, just lure him up to a covered structure and build a lot of fireplace beside him then start attacking him just make sure you lock him up with the wood structures do it every spawn

EDIT: OK shortly after posting this comment it worked but I found it deep near the center of Mount obsidian. Also I would recommend having a bed handy at base to help pass in-game time.

Great video, thank you, only thing for me as Console player not sure if anyone else experiences this but doing the trap/campfire trick on the merchants only works for me at the first player one location, the second one in the cave it doesn’t let me build anywhere there maybe because of all the structures around him? but i can only hang them up in the open area. Anyone else notice this or know a way to make the builds work in that cave? I didnt move my base from the first build area so is it not having a palbox close by not letting me or what?

I thought this game was going to be some stupid , weird trend. I traded a friend an indy game he wanted for a copy on release and last weekend i logged un fir the first time. I've been hooked since. If they added fishing and eirher fixed the carry weight or the weight of items to a more manageable system , and maybe start adding more pals and zonez more regularly , id probably never be able to put it down. Already just bought a steamdeck just to play it in the go, lol
The devs put a lot of love into this game.
I wish it was the sort of game where you could complete a storyline and everything like in Legends Arceus, but in terms of gameplay, this game does an incredible job of being satisfying and letting you play with friends.

It does work solo and for the first base location I found a way to make the black market guy to respawn 100% of the time honestly just completely close your game and he should respawn

Clever strat, but it's not as effective as you think. If you rush it to your base location (the one you picked is great but not required now you can just build ore station). Build Vixy farm there and just catch all PALs around you in the time you have gotten the money/gun/ammo you would most likely be around lvl20-30 looking for Jourmuntide Ignis egg. Especially that trek to Fisherman Vilage on foot without mount is just an overkill. You can just grab it when you get a fly mount and farm the gold for a gun if you really feel you need it.
I'll probably do that black merchant exploit one or 2 times and then just naturally progress from there. This seems to cheesy for me but I love it 🤣

I'm reading the time stamps, and I noticed that the section on respawning to get some early FT/TP(not TP for Cornholio 😆) says **PATCHED; what was patched?
Just a head's up for the Gold Farm, in the intervening months PocketPair seems to have updated all of the cave systems to count as Specialty/Boss Zones, so you can't build in them anymore. So you can't use the Black Marketeer in the cave under the Desolate Church, since you can't build the trap or the campfire. The other two in the video are fully free to kill at your leisure though, so just use one of those.
IM not sure, as ive not tested it myself, but you can start the server on multiplayer, and go to all the fast travel locations, then change it to single player. (again I'm not sure but its worth a try).
Every time I respawn I don’t get the option to go to other islands is it something in settings?
I think they patched that out so you can't just teleport around the whole map and have to build and explore. I tried it too and get the same thing, only the Plateau of Beginnings is available and then my base once I build it.
You can also do it instantly on multiplayer

i wanted to say , that there is one thing to keep in mind. There are Vanwyrms a little to the north west on the landway to were the Boss Bushi is starting from the little village. these Birds spawn at L10-12 and are way better then nightwing plus they are the parent animal with anubis to the 2nd best bird in the game , because it is the 2nd fastest and it has melting 3 + transport 3. i would not waste any resources into nitewing , it realy sucks xD

Playing a bit here and there for a while I recommend also getting a Nitewing as soon as possible. Not so much for riding though they are really strong starting combat pals. They have really strong moves and are agile. If not at least being good from beginning to mid game they might even be somewhat viable to end game. Just make sure you are doing your share of the work. Maybe having some Daedreams following you around to add dps to you as well. In the beginning you can't get enough dps it seems like. Just thought I would offer something a little less knowledge dependent and something everyone can aim for early on. There are also some that just won't vibe well with this video because of the mechanic exploiting and going against the "intended" way of playing.
Yeah vixys are not dropping items like that for me. So I assume it's been patched

so after farming for 8 hours i still yet to find any dragon egg on that place all i get is fire eggs
i searched two hours for the egg and couldnt find it and thhe marketeer is not spawning but the trap was fixed any way so mhm
If the problem was the you could not put the trap under him it’s just in the cave location it works anyowhere else for me

The numerous respawn locations do not show up for me.. perhaps this was changed in the update?
I figured it out that you need to set the world to multiplayer, I think they took it off for solo for idk for what reason but after you get the respawn locations you can keep it off or on, I’m doing solo so I turned off multiplayer after I got the locations
the infinite gold black marketeer one still works. He spawns after you finish the dungeon next to him.
I went to all of them and the bottom two next to the start point of the game I don't see those fast travel points
Early game for money you can make a base with a ton of berries and then bake them and sell them you can do it almost instantly later I add a metal farm then smelt and craft nails sell em both and you will never need money again

Patching isn’t necessary! This is all just smart thinking, no cheating involved. However, if it’s your first playthrough I recommend just having fun and doing what you want to do!
Yes it does but only certain buys can get caught in a trap the one one the north east side still works, but sometimes they just don’t die so you need to die before you can kill him.

@JR-dv9kz not at first. Exit to title, then before you enter your world, change it from solo to multi-player in the settings. Apparently they removed it for single player but left it in for multi-player
